Ashun - Guidance lasts for 1 round, so unless what you're planning to do takes less than 6 seconds, it's not likely to make a difference :)

I was expecting Bitty and Egg to perform until I realized Bitty didn't have Performance :)

For the time you've had to prepare, Bee, Konbu and Loompecker all get into character and play their parts well. The goblins especially love the 'woofs' that come from the plant. However, the goblins unashamedly boo and hiss at Cath's and Ashun's flubs. At the end of your performance, the audience claps and cheers, entertained.

Zusgut raises his hands for silence, and most of the goblins quiet down or wander off. "Well that was exciting," he says. "But now it’s time for the tough decision." The king pauses dramatically, and from somewhere nearby a goblin beats a drum in a rhythm reminiscent of a heartbeat.

"It’s a difficult choice," Zusgut continues, drawing out the moment. "But I have to say that one performance…" he pauses as the drum continues to beat. "Rose above the other." Another pause. "Today, the winner is…" He stops again, and now the goblins are all paying close attention. "The Pathfinders!" A cheer rises up at his words. The mercenaries, for their part, sulkily move to a quiet corner. "I guess we'll wait here and see what the Pathfinders find" one of them grumbles.

"Now then, you have earned the chance to head down to the basement and deal with this gigantic monster that has taken up residence below. I don't know what it is, exactly, but it's very, very big, has a giant mouth, sharp teeth, and is green. Any questions before you depart on your grand adventure?"

Bee looks over at Zusgut with an amused expression. 'Well, when you put it that way, it does seem to be a rather odd thing to compete over,' he thinks to himself.

"Are those of us who are not fortunate enough to be born Goblins going to need light in order to find this green monster?"

Bee chuckles at the offer from Bea. "I have a torch or two. I just don't fight quite as well if I have both hands full. I might pick up a Cantrip Deck of Light. Fighting with a glowing sword would be awesome. But that will have to be for a different day."

Bee looks at Loompecker a bit skeptically. "Well, yeah. I remember being given one when I accepted that mission to Port Peril." He rummages around in his pack and finds it. He holds it up and fiddles with it a bit. "I've never had it cast light bef- Aaaahhh!" he cries out and almost drops the thing as the Wayfinder lights up immediately.

After he recovers from being startled, he loops the carrying cord around his neck like a necklace. "Huh. Yeah, that should work."

A rather uncharacteristic laugh comes from the plant as Bee's Wayfinder lights up.

I too have a Wayfinder Konbu announces as they produce it from among the fronds of seaweed

Ashun also chuckles slightly at Bee's reaction
"Oh. I thought it was only for simple spells.", he picks up his own and gives it a look, "I think I may have imbued mine with either a magic detection or a identification glyph... It has been a while, so I can not remember."

Turning to Zusgut, he asks "If I may, precious Lord. Do you know any other attributes pertaining to the creature? Any sounds it makes, if it is a growl, roar, a chirp, grinding of teeth? Or if it attacks with claws, tentacles or by biting?"

"Yeah, no worries, oh king," Bee calls out to him as he starts off towards the passage downwards. "Just getting our equipment in order."

To Ashun he comments quietly, "Hey, as long as it dies when I stab it, we'll be fine. It can make whatever noise it wants to."

With a smile he answers Bee in the same tone, "Oh, I am not worried about us being able to kill it or not, every one of you can easily down most creatures. I was interested in trying to identify and catalog it for future reference."

Some backdated rolls... Better late than never, right?

Bitty stealthily comes in behind the other group of adventurers, snipping their suspenders so that their pants fall down beneath their knees.

Thievery: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Then she performs as Siathorn, with Egg decked out as Mitzi. Though an amateur duo, their comedic timing, including Konbu's "Woofs!" is impeccable, in part because Egg is adorable.

Perform: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

"But we helped them escape!" She cries as Siathorn, and then side-whispers to the audience. "Psst... I mean the longshanks, not the undead. Though the undead getting away surely explains why there are so many of them about!"

At the end, she shouts proudly, "We be HEROES!" Draconic tail held high, she joins the rest of the party for a bow.

You descend to the basement.

Twisted and bloated, the wooden stairs connecting the main floor and basement are slick and saturated with water. The walls are covered in algae and the ceiling is coated with black mold, while old furniture and props from the theater are piled in the corners in soggy, crumbling heaps. Small crustaceans and numerous insects occasionally peek from the detritus or scramble into cracks or the shallow pools on the floor. The smell of rot and salt water hangs damply in the air. To the west, a section of the brick wall has crumbled into a heap, creating an opening into a larger area beyond.

Through the light of the torches and lit wayfinders, you find that there are, in fact, two, rather large, green creatures who appear trapped in the room.

You can attempt to convince the creatures to stand down with a successful DC 20 Diplomacy check (Wild Empathy). If nobody has Wild Empathy, then there's the other way...

When both Corabee and Loompecker draws their weapons, Ashun lets out a small sigh, puts Bea on the floor behind him and turns on his Wayfinder light again, and agrees with Bee, "Indeed. Although I really wish we did not have to kill these creatures."

Bea's eyes glow as he draws a glyph with a winged bell inside, the glyph pulses and disappears, leaving a floating spectral drawn winged bell in front of him. Calmly walking towards the room ahead, stopping near the left exit.
"Standing close to me will empower your strikes. But please be careful." he says pointing towards the alligators cousins.
And for those near him, a soothing silent music echoes inside their heads, keeping them collected and concentrated.

Ashun improves everyone's attack chances before moving in. Sword out, Bee charges and stabs Red, hitting and doing some damage. Cath follows and tries to attack Blue but doesn't quite hit.
