Detect Evil:
You don't sense anything evil within your range in any direction. As you walk towards the vegetation you do notice a ping of evil. It is an object on the ground, mostly covered with sand, it has no power to its aura. You can only see a two inch black blade of either a sword or knife poking out of the sand, the rest of it is covered.

Detect Magic:
Without the spell it would be hard to find any of these things. You see a faint aura coming from four objects. The first you dig up and find a pink conk shell the size of your hand. Further in you see a weed or plant of some kind. A small silver backed personal mirror with a silver handle. A shard of glass that has a red and orange tint to it.

You do notice the lack of several people: Aukan, Alexandria, Nima, Sasha, Rayhan, and likely a few others.

Perception DC 36:
You notice a few reptiallian heads skimming just under the water. Their eyes poke out like a crocodile. It is about 80 feet out.

Grim frowned as he approached the thing that had attracted his attention.
"What is this?" He wondered aloud, staring hard at the object on the ground.
"There is a bare hint of the taint of evil here." He explained.
The object of his attention was mostly covered with sand. You can only see a two inch black blade of either a sword or knife poking out of the sand.
Grim picked up a branch and carefully brushed the sand aside, revealing more of what the blade is.


Tasting the water you find it not salty at all and refreshing.

Grim finds a one sided short sword, with a metal hand brace. The whole thing is solid black.

Description
This conch shell measures only a few inches long and shimmers with a delicate pink color. Shells of sending always come in pairs, with each shell attuned to the other. If pairs are mixed up or lost, a shell of sending can be attuned to a new shell of sending in a process that takes 24 hours.

Once per day, anyone holding a shell of sending can whisper up to 25 words into the shell. The sender’s words emerge from the second shell, audible to anyone holding the attuned shell, as long as the receiver is on the same plane of existence. If the receiver wishes, she can send a return message of up to 25 words.

Anyone eavesdropping on either sender or receiver must attempt a DC 14 Will saving throw. On a success, an eavesdropper can hear the speakers normally. On a failure, the speakers seem to be relaying gibberish and nonsense words to each other. Creatures who fail this saving throw by 5 or more are deafened for 1d4 minutes.

Description
This buckler-sized mirror magnifies flaws and faults, presenting the least appealing image of any creature reflected in it. The mirror must be held in one hand to function. As a standard action three times per day, the bearer of the mirror can project a reflection onto the creature that produced it, making them appear utterly loathsome to all onlookers. The subject must be within 30 feet of the mirror, and must be able to see the mirror to be affected. For the next 5 rounds any creature attempting to target the subject with a beneficial spell or effect must make a DC 14 Will save. On a failure, the creature must choose a new subject for the spell or effect is wasted. Once a creature succeeds on this saving throw, it can target the subject normally for the remainder of the mirror’s effect’s duration.

When the brave knight-commander Koriana of Zimar fell within the ranks of the Fifth Army of Exploration, her remains were returned home—along with her sundered steel shield. Her brother Tadric, distraught, focused only on creating a fitting legacy for Koriana’s daughter. Devoting himself to the study of metalcraft and magical crafting, he eventually turned a shard of his sister’s shield into a protective longsword. Though records indicate that Tadric’s niece took up the sword and joined the military, her full tale and the blade’s fate were lost to history. Rumors that she went into clandestine service for the royal family still circulate.

Koriana’s Blade is a +2 defending longsword. It’s strangely curved, betraying its origins, and has five gemstones in its pommel. Four are broken, but the white gem in the center is intact. Once per day, the wielder can trigger this gemstone as an immediate action to absorb and negate all darts targeting her from a magic missile spell.

When the wielder transfers at least 1 point of the weapon’s enhancement bonus to her AC using the defending special ability, she also chooses one creature other than herself within 10 feet to gain a +1 bonus to AC until the wielder’s next turn. This bonus is always +1, regardless of how much of the weapon’s bonus the wielder transfers to her AC.

First Triumph: One of the gemstones on the sword’s pommel (determined randomly) repairs itself. Once repaired, a gem can be activated as an immediate action once per day to make the sword’s wielder immune to a single effect of a particular type, as described below, just before she would be affected by it. She must choose to activate the gem before attempting any save or other defense against the effect. The black gem protects against negative energy, the red gem protects against fire effects,the pink gem protects against mind-affecting effects, and the green gem protects against poison effects.

Second Triumph: Koriana’s Blade is a +3 defending longsword. Another randomly chosen gem repairs itself.

Third Triumph: Another randomly chosen gem repairs itself. The wielder of the sword gains a +1 insight bonus on all saving throws against effects of any type corresponding to one of the sword’s functioning gems.

Fourth Triumph: Koriana’s Blade is a +4 defending longsword. The final gem repairs itself.

After deciphering the properties of all four magical items she shares what she knows with her companions. “I’ve no idea who has the second shell, but should we risk speakin’ into the conch, in the hopes that whoever’s on the other side is friendly?” The toe of her boot nudges the colored glass. “Same here—it should be able to summon someone it’s attuned to. Pity none of us can cast ‘Produce Flame’—it would grow into a mighty weapon indeed.”

She wanders over next to Grim and eyes the sword.
Take 10 on Spellcraft for 25. It doesn’t register on Detect Magic, right?

“Strange,” her brow wrinkles with confusion. “I don’t sense any magic, but this is a legacy item, one that will grow in power as it’s wielded. If it’s evil, we’re best off burying it again.”

I have heard of things called black blades, mysterious stuff for Magus like spell swords. Could it be one of those? She pauses

Thing is, the one Black Blade magus I know, definitly Pharasmin influenced. Doubt his blade would have pinged as evil.

I am personally using a 2 handed weapons, but it could be good on our sneaky types?

Ok, could have been worse. Seriously, the Succubus was trying to get me laid with literally everything and the Erinye was the total opposite. There is a creepy f*&+ who was turned on by the Erinye detailing what she would do to him if he didnt bugger off, an elfen "totally not red mantis assassin" and the obligatory Paladin who tried to redeem me. He is from one of the virginity orders, so I dont actually know if he technically counts as an Ex.

She continues in her normal voice as if nothing happened.

Desna is serious business, there are rumors that, when she doublekilled the demon lord Aolar for f~&~ing around, Lady Nocticula nearly became collateral damage because the Lady in Shadows was trying to kill Aolar at the same time as Desna was, and thus also got partly hit by whatever the star eyed Slayer unleashed on Aolar.
She pauses


I dont take contracts against Desnan interests, and anyone who does is dumber then me.

Aolar was a demonlord who sufficiently offended Desna that Desnar first blew up said demonlord on the material plane, and then, on her own, teleported into the Abyss and devastated Aolars plane, killing the demonlord permanently in the process.

Star-eyed Slayer is how demons, or people who took, voluntary or not, religious or planar lessons from demons, would refer to Desna. It is not intended to be rude, Desna is one of the few things that scare Demons, or at least smart demons.

The female voice continues as the whispers retreat further and further away, "Well you can offer them a sacrifice but it would seem your faith in me is strong. Proclaim my name and purge the blade of all the darkness, so that it may be reformed into a better vessel!"

Description
This bright +1 starknife is engraved with a beautiful moth icon. When wielded, it leaves a trail of harmless starry motes that shed light as a candle in any squares the wielder occupies or moves through. These motes last for 1 round before fading away. Once per day, the wielder can speak a command word to use jump (with a +20 bonus), but this effect immediately ends if the wielder loses its grasp on the weapon. Additionally, once per day the wielder can use it to fire a blast of motes, with the same effect as color spray.

Grim:
Your detect evil still pings on the blade but no increase in power.

I would otherwise keep the connection a bit under wraps, you see, only idiots oppose Desna, but the Abyss in particular is full of them, and a sizeable subset of these idiots would see it as a proof of whatever they regard as courage to mess with Desnans.

Choosing to not interfere, Tiesa quietly observes everything from a distance. How'd ya know it was her?” The half-orc eyes the starknife, wondering if its existence is sufficient proof. “What’s your history wit' Desna anyway? Were you a priest of hers?” The wizard seems a bit suspicious that the goddess would speak directly to an ordinary mortal, especially through a weapon tainted with evil.

I can create an obscuring mist, but it does not move with me, and a sudden mist cloud in a desert is likely the opposite of being inconspicious

"I am just a low-life thief, after all", the suli smiled at both ladies as he pulled the hood up on his cloak of elvenkind.

As the thief began his quiet stalking toward the hut, sounds of chaos erupt behind him. Davod turns his head to see a hydra rises from the waters, as various spells are cats by fellow party members.

I rolled 28 on Knowledge (Arcana) in my last post. Does Tiesa know anything about hydras? Can I assume she knows everything in its stat block?

It does not appear that the creature took damage from the burst of radiance. Also it is not blinded.

Tiesa grimaces as the hydra wreaks havoc on her companions. She knows that lopping off the heads will blunt its attack, but doing so is a high-risk tactic that is easier said than done. Recognizing that her quarrels, even if aimed perfectly, won’t do much damage against such an enormous beast, she alters her approach.

“Keep attackin’ the body! I’ll try ta blind it.” With her brow furrowed in concentration, she calls forth a black necromantic curse. “Eternal darkness!”
