For reference, I was in Thailand (Pattaya, Bangkok, Chang Mai, and Chang Rai), Laos, and Siem Reap, Cambodia for 3 weeks in Oct/Nov. Now I'm back to work doing US to Hong Kong runs for the last week. Two more of those then Korea, then to the Philippines for a couple weeks.

But I'm actually glad that you both are getting to travel and take some time off. I know Nick certainly needs and deserves the time.

Someday, I'm going to join you guys on a gaming cruise.

I can play and travel easily. GMing wihle travel is a bit more challenging.

Speaking about Eκάτη - he is an IRL Jiujitsu trainer and master and he is going to some sort of championship fight these days. So I believe this is pretty good matter to abscent for a while :)
Hopefully Eκάτη won't upset I clarified his agenda.

I didn't manage to become a world champion this year, but my student did! So, as a coach, I have already achieved a little. And as an athlete I will try further next years .)

I usually prefer not to draw attention to this - everyone here has their own important events in important areas in their lives. But since Kirill brought up this topic about me, I shared it.

PS Thailand... GM Nomadical, I swear, I feel Рhuket as my second homeland. I went there for 7 years in a row in winter (escaping from the snows of Russia to the beaches of this wonderful island) and I dream of doing it again after a break of a couple of years.

That takes a lot of dedication and effort! I used to compete in TKD in our national comps representing my state, that was effort enough, so going those extra steps is highly commendable and a credit to all involved.

(Sadly, three years of fire/flood/covid response means I haven't stepped on the training mat in three years)

I've never done martial arts of any kind. I've always been an endurance athlete: Open-water swimming and long distance running. Recently started freediving.

Phuket is very nice. I did a week there in 2019, but haven't been back there since. I'll probably go next year, but also want to try Krabi and Koh Tao at some point, too.

Thanks everyone! @Shifty, what you're talking about sounds very impressive to me. I can imagine the intensity of passions at the national championships! Great. @Nomadical, and again, it sounds cool. Swimming is just one of my weaknesses btw, I keep trying to find time to pull it up to the proper level. But it's not coming out yet.)

With regard to championships and such. A couple of days back there was an article in local online portal, someone called the emergency number that there is someone in the park in need of help. Some person was rolling in the mud in their shorts, and it was -2 deg. The call was suggesting that it could be someone drunk or drugged as he was not acting normally.

When the police came they turned out to be martial arts sportsmen doing their training in the park. For some reason, they decided to use shorts and no t-shirt despite low temperatures and practiced running, rolling, and such ;)

The news made me think of ‘Eκάτη and Shifty ;) Altho my favorite reference to Shifty is Minion from despicable me and the whole scene of the guy chopping everything on their way ;)

Athletes sometimes do really strange things. I usually try not to cut the weight too much before the competition, but I just had to at the last one. Imagine - a hot Arab country, you came to work out in a fitness where there is air conditioning, but still let's say it's not cold there... And then a guy comes in in a clearly warm tracksuit, a jacket over it, warm socks, puts on two hoods and begins to train in this form ))

Shoot. I forgot to take the green commanders token off of the map. It is already dead. So I think Azzirm used his turn shooting a dead jinsul.

Recognizing that Roquefort is still traveling, I'm wrapping this up. Roleplay out the debrief if you like, and I'll have chronicles up in the next day or two.

Data Purge #2-14 (tier 9-12) is next. Carlos, Roquefort, Jim (character TBD), Mike (also character TBD), and Aerondor's technomancer should be up. I'll message Mike and Aerondor to confirm with them, so it may take a little while before we start.

I'm at a resort on a remote island in the Philippines this week. Hotel Internet went down as I was posting. Now having to hotspot thru my phone on roaming (although data is no-cost, it's still roaming speed.)

I've confirmed with Aerondor for his technomancer (level 10 I think). Still waiting to hear from Mike, then I'll recruit for a sixth.

Actually, we only had 5 players. Back'Up can join as the sixth.
