If the target of the critical hit is adjacent to a surface, it gets stuck to that surface by the missile. The target is immobilized and must spend an Interact action to attempt a DC 10 Athletics check to pull the missile free; it can't move from its space until it succeeds. The creature doesn't become stuck if it is incorporeal, is liquid (like a water elemental or some oozes), or could otherwise escape without effort.

Zina takes a moment to calm down, and she is restless during the treatment.

"Well, that's too bad. I'd like it rough." She winks at Ashes with arrogant but playful mischief in her eyes. "Still, it's nice to be the one being patched up for once."

Suddenly, she appears to remember something.
"Hey, shouldn't we gather a planar stabilization focus or something from here as well? How's the attunement and stabilization going, Eliza?"

While Ashes applies medicine to Zina's wounds, Crunch utters a few words in dwarven and slaps themselves on the shoulder, instantly restored to full health.

They search about the area, saying further prayers and grumbling about cheats and liars.

Eliza takes a few measured breathes and the battle ends and the healing process unfolds, turning slightly to Krakazh and Zina . "I'm afraid I have been too focused on maintaining the orb to notice the traitor in our midst. Yes, let's at least continue our search here. the way forward is less certain now, with our supposed guide dead."

The two traitors are truly dead, with only the satchel lying flat next to the rakshasa providing any recompense. Two moderate healing potions remain

As the group heals and others start to look around the area once again, Eliza pauses near a thick shrub not too far away. "As I feared." she sighs.

Moving over to her, you see the likely reason the rakshasa was forced to give up his ruse in this area. The true Rindle appears to have been stabbed in the back and tucked under the hedges, along with the body of a squirrel that can only be the real Mr. Chitters.

Eliza ponders. "We should return them home." and instructs you to retrieve a magical satchel hanging from her belt and store the halfling and his pet’s bodies inside.

After refocusing and searching unsuccessfully for any more focal samples, the group continues on. Hopefully, towards Galt and the Woodsedge Lodge.

A particularly thick section of the maze’s hedges has grown over massive white structures. What may have been the spires of an ancient temple are now so choked with wild plants they are inaccessible. Even stranger, mounding dunes of red sand are gathered in the open paths between the living walls of the maze.

Go ahead and reset your exploration activities and place yourself in a proper marching order in the corner of the new map where I have placed Eliza.

No crit on monster hunter. With the mirror images I am trying to go in some kind of order, so post when you want to and we will tally in that order.

The ranger takes aim at the closest witchwyrd (inscrutable planar merchants with a strange resistance to - and affinity for - force effects) plunging his first arrow in with little trouble.

The witchwyrds respond by producing mirrored versions of themselves and sending a force bolt toward the besieged druid.

Ashes slips out and fires an arrow that snaps within the illusion and deflects harmlessly. The bard begins the now familiar battle song and along with Zina heals the poor druid to a suitable level. She curses the elemental as Crunch lumbers forward, finding that warhammer vs rock is not as devastating as it should be. Alonzo rejoins and the arc finds some success once again, though against the other foe.

The elementals swing their might fists once again, this time focusing on druid and witch and repositioning to their advantage.

Screeching in pain, the immobilized witchwyrd returns the favor against the ranger, but using its unerring force bolts instead. The other advances and thrusts twice as Alonzo succombs. Two crits with the flank, I believe.

Ashes ensures Alonzo's well-being before destroying an image with an arrow. Krakazh intensifies the tune to scramble the witchwyrd before weaving in a damaging litany. Zina protects herself in like fashion while continue the needle curse. Crunch goes on the offense and connects solidly with their first swing. The elemental crumbles and sinks into the ground from the massive blow.

The victory is short-lived though as the elemental resurfaces next to the ranger, rising from the ground to wallop him. Frightened by the multiple witches, the other elemental smashes through a pair of images.

The witch curses crudely under her breath, and ◆ Strides between the dwarf and the witchwyrd.

◇ Touching a rune on her leather armor, she retrieves a healing potion and ◆ splashes it on Alonzo's nose.

"Get up and stay back if you can't heal yourself!"

Despite the tough talk, she protects the dwarf even further by ◆ tracing a rune between him and the elemental, discouraging the latter to strike the former.

The old Needle of Vengeance is not sustained on Pink. New one on Purple. DC 25 Basic Will against the 9 mental damage debuff. Damage triggers every time purple takes hostile action against Alonzo.

Retrieval Prism was used to retrieve the healing potion as free action.
