Maneki, Snicker, and Marcius quickly drive the Panther away!
(Success = Half+ the # of PCs succeed)

After being rescued, the gripple introduces himself as Prembret, and reveals he has been trekking through the Sodden Lands to broaden his horizons, also admitting to having listened in on your storytelling session the night before until a scary noise made him return to his own nearby campsite - he didn't want to intrude and by the time you were done telling stories, he felt it would be awkward to make introductions in the middle of the night!

Ecmund sees a kindred spirit in the grippli, and the two take to each other immediately. The young dwarf marvels at some of the things the grippli claims to have seen and sketched in his travel journal. After calming down from his recent close call, Prembret laments that his camp was overrun by giant leeches, attracted by the experimental reagents he uses to infuse fruits with alchemical properties. Worse still, the journal detailing his discoveries and tales is also at risk of being ruined by the destructive vermin. Without missing a beat, Ecmund proudly volunteers all of you to immediately head to the campsite and drive off the creatures!

The thankful Prembret offers two infused peaches that each function as a minor elixir of life before you depart, giving directions to the site, while Ecmund insists on hanging back to protect the grippli in case the panther returns.

Soundtrack #6b: Approach - A Familiar Foe

Aside from Prembret’s tent (marked with a white square on the map), this area is devoid of a canopy to protect yous from the worst of the Sodden Land’s torrential rains. All creatures take a –2 circumstance penalty to visual Perception checks. Creatures who are 20 or more feet apart are concealed from each other. Squares containing water are difficult terrain. Crossing the stream using the available wet logs requires a successful Acrobatics check to Balance, with failure resulting in no movement and a critical failure knocking the creature prone.

Everyone who is not fatigued may choose an Exploration Activity as you enter the area, then you may move anywhere you'd like up to the river.

Snicker yips in surprise as the red leech seems to come out of nowhere and latches onto Maneki. "I smell another one to the southwest, but hold on, Maneki!"

Snicker quickly moves through Maneki's space and tries to distract the oversized bloodsucker (Feint!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22) before poking at its writhing body (Attack!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27) with her cane. "We need to get some of those fruits to make this a fair match, I think!"

If that's a hit, damage would be damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4. If the Feint was a success, then the attack will be a Confident Finisher, adding +Precision damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9, or half that on a miss.

Soundtrack #8: Home - The Lost Legacy

After you confirm that you've killed the only dangerous animals in the area, Ecmund and Prembret quickly rejoin you. The two help tend to your wounds and also clean up the campsite. The pair of new friends get Prembret's travel stove standing upright and cook a celebratory meal for you all: smoked sausage and sadza, a mix of dwarf and grippli favorites!

Ecmund and Prembret continue to swap stories over food. One of the more sincere accounts the dwarf shares was his first-time meeting gripplis on board Fliptown: a magical, grippli‑run city-barge currently taking on supplies at Hyrantam. As Prembret’s eyes fill with wonder at the sound of this place, Ecmund decides that bringing his new friend there would generate many more tales than wandering through the jungle. He has the party retrace its steps, heading back to the coast with new "sodden stories" to tell!

(*) Edited Track

The track for 6 & 7 was one I edited so heavily that I decided to list different music for other GMs who wanted this list than when I run it myself. This being my author table, you get the special ones! :)

Thank you so much for playing this adventure! I hope you enjoyed it despite my numerous delays!

I've already gotten the game reported to Paizo, and will have chronicle sheets ready for you in the next day or so. Please feel free to RP as much as you'd like in the interim! :)

Snicker relaxes, resuming her unassuming stance and helping prepare dinner over the next few hours. As the group returns to Hyrantam, she resolves to pay a visit to Fliptown herself, hoping to try more Grippli cuisine and maybe pick up a few coins in some dice games...
