Zaeta will take the freight delivery for Kardin:

5 tons of Survival Equipment - Fee: cr5,000

and this one for Bularia:

15 tons of ethanol fuel. Fee: 39,000

Then, it depends on what Crastor does with his Gems and Crystals, and if anyone else wants/needs help filling their empty slots.

I'll post again in the morning with a plan to fill all of our space, in case we don't hear from anyone else about it though.

Zaeta (pic) | 6|10|5|10|8|7 | Legal Officer | Homeworld: Torment (Entropic Worlds 0720) | (Additional link to Profile)

Okay, so...

Here is the group plan unless anyone objects:

We sell 10 tons of gems and crystals for Cr260,000
We sell 3 tons of medical supplies for Cr562,500

That gives us

Corellon: 0 slots (sold 6 common electronics, picked up 15 liquor)
Zaeta: 5 slots (sold 8 gems, picked up 20 freight)
Frey: 35 slots (sold 3 medical supplies)
Crastor: 32 slots (sold 2 gems)

Total: 72 slots

We pick up 33 tons of live animals for Cr247,000
We pick up 39 tons of textiles for Cr40,950

That brings us to full tonnage for our area.

... if everyone is okay with that, I will post an updated cargo list after work when I have more time.

Alright, my friends! I am off to GenCon in the morning and won’t be posting for the next week. Please expect me back on or around Tuesday the 9th of August. If I am the GM for this game, I’ll see ya then! If I’m a player, please feel free to bot my character as appropriate.

Stay safe and I’ll talk to you all in a week!

PS: I’ll be away the whole second half of August, too. Nerd vacation now, family vacation then. :-)

Just a heads up I am headed off for a week's vacation starting tomorrow. I will have a computer and an internet connection, so I'm planning to post as usual. But sometimes plans go sideways, so if I'm quiet for about nine days or so you'll know why!

Cor the shuttle is not yours. If you want it closer, you ask me. Crastor does not let others fly it. He would not give you the ability to do so. I thought I made this clear earlier. He views it as his baby. You don't get to just unilaterally decide to take off with it.

There was a ship that the captain was willing to loan the group. If you want to fly separately, ask to borrow that. Otherwise, Crastor flies his ship.

Zaeta (pic) | 6|10|5|10|8|7 | Legal Officer | Homeworld: Torment (Entropic Worlds 0720) | (Additional link to Profile)

Should we just say that we borrowed the captain's ship then, so we don't have to retcon too much?

There were two shuttles available, so far as I know. I had posted Cor was flying one and you posted you were flying another, so far as I'm aware. You even posted:

Crastor Deems wrote:

Crastor is in his shuttle tinkering. He will check his weapons and then get ready to fly out and offer aid.

I think we were lent a shuttle as well that we can bring, but I will fly my shuttle to go and help evacuate as well if we have two.

I don't mind being called out for being incorrect about something, but I'd request you be a bit more polite about it at the very least.

I thought we were using only the one shuttle, personally. But if Cor said he was using the other one, I'm fine with that.

'Lance Sergeant/Scout' Corellon "Cor" Anders - 6C97A6 | Second Officer/Astrogation | Gram (Spinward Marches 1223) | Profile Link

Yeah, I was basing the fact that I was flying the shuttle provided for the shore leave by your post:

Traveller Referee Tarondor wrote:
On the second day of R&R, Cor is on duty in the shuttle when he hears the comms come alive. The message is from a group of crew out on an air/raft scouting for forage. "Skander Base, this is Alpha Raft. We are under attack! Say again, we are under attack! Some kind of bird/bat things!"

I saw Crastor's post that he desired to fly his own shuttle, so figured he was taking his own and that we had two going, with everyone but Crastor in the one I was flying at the time the call came in, as he posted he was tinkering in his shuttle when it happened.

I have to be away for a few days. I'll get back to this by the weekend.

Hey, gang. I’m sick and so is my whole family. My head is fuzzy and I’m going to be away for a few days until I can think again.

If I’m the GM of this game, I’ll be back as soon as possible. If I’m a player, please bot me until I get back.

FYI, I am on Christmas break December 16-January 2. I might get on somewhere in there, but the likelihood is not high. I will have zillions of relatives here taking up all my availability. Apologies. Please bot me or have me lapse into a coma or whatever for the duration, and I'll check back in in a couple of weeks.

It’s been a full week, so I want to check in and report that I have pneumonia. My recovery has been decently effective, thanks to heavy doses of...whatever it is they’re giving me. But I’m still quite tired. I’ll be trying to post in some games no later than tomorrow.

Well at least someone you know (game with) knows what you are going through. As am asthmatic, it was one of the worst things I have ever experienced; my doctor said I was hours away from being hospital-ready when he saw me.

Stay strict with your treatment please; nanites and restoration spells are a few years out last I heared ;)

Picking sides is something that happens in politics ... this is not that, this is terrorism. If these people were demonstrating OUTSIDE it would be another thing. Attacking guests at a party is just being a criminal with a cause.

I'm with Frey on this one. Besides, we're supposed to play nice with the current government, I think. They're the ones being attacked at the moment. I suppose if we can extricate ourselves without getting involved that'd be ideal, but if we need to pick a side and take someone down with violence, it's the ones holding the guns, I should think.

Makes sense. I will back the play as best I can, but I went to talk to brokers and people in power so I am unarmed. To the best of my knowledge/memory, I never went back to the ship after I initially said I was going to go unarmed.

OR you could be the distraction, run towards the leader, so that he has to take his eyes off of Frey and Lady Estrella ;)

I'm liking the debate. That's something I like about this extended set of scenes - you're forced to decide what to do (or not to do) based on what you perceive to be your mission, your characters and your evaluation of the possibilities.

Think I'm needing more IC information here. My impression is that there's fighting outside, or at least rebel troops roaming around. Sending civilians out there seems more dangerous to me than keeping them here where we've at least established a perimeter of sorts.

Yeah, sending civilians out would be very dangerous.

PLAY IN TARONDOR’S HOME GAME!

This message is going out to everyone I play with. Or really, anyone who happens to see it. Don’t be shy.

I’m a long (really long) time GM and my home game has been online since 2020. But it has also dwindled in size and I’d really like to have more great players! So, since we play online that means anyone could potentially play with us. Interested? Just drop me a Private Message!

DETAILS
My players and I are in the last book of an Adventure Path (Age of Ashes) and we’ll be wrapping it up in the next 2-3 months. When that’s over, we’d really like to have more players. 6 to 7 players would be ideal. Right now we are 3 players plus me.

We play every other Sunday from 12-6 Eastern time. We -don’t- use any VTT’s (your GM finds them distracting). We just talk over Discord and use Google slides for images and maps. Works great and there’s zero learning curve.

PLAYER’S CHOICE
One thing I’ll be doing differently this time is that instead of me telling the players what we’re going to play, I’m going to offer the players a choice of 5 or 6 potential campaigns I’d be willing to run (including a few different game systems) and let the players tell me what they want to play. I expect we’ll be playing Pathfinder 2e, but if the players prefer sci-fi or superheroes we might be using a different system.

So anyway, if you’d like to join us and want to have some input in what we play, now’s your chance to get involved!

WHO I AM
I’m Tarondor. My real name is Scott Nolan and I’m a lawyer, a dad, a husband and a big ol’ nerd whose RPG credentials go back to the 1970's. I love pretty much every style of gaming from “kick in the door” to deep roleplaying. I don’t care if you’ve got forty years of experience or if you’ve never played the game, so long as you’re good at getting along with others and don’t think that “what? It’s what my character would do!” is an excuse for screwing your party.

My own style leans towards epic quests. You can get an idea of my GMing style from the many games I run here on the Paizo boards. You can also check out my various guides to character classes and whatnot by clicking on my Profile.

Ooh. Everyone is welcome, but leave your baggage and agendas at the door. We’re just here to sling dice and have fun.

If you’re interested, let me know!

Apologies for delay. I'm here, just very busy at work of late with no time/energy to post. Feel free to bot me, but my take is that we are fortifying our position until army reinforcements arrive. That said, if others are looking to take other actions, I will leave it to them and figure Cor is in agreement.

'Lance Sergeant/Scout' Corellon "Cor" Anders - 6C97A6 | Second Officer/Astrogation | Gram (Spinward Marches 1223) | Profile Link

OK, checked in real quick, but I must admit that as a player, I'm a little lost here. I've no intention on splitting the party up. My intent was to have Zaeta and Frey check on the civilians, calm them down, heal them up, while Crastor and I did what we could to fortify the place against the insurgent rebels until the army arrives.

As a player, I've no military training myself, and I'm not sure of the scale of the building, nor the room we're in, nor any points of egress.

So, that said, is there anywhere we could get the civilians to a place where we can shelter and hold off the rebels - if they attack - until the army arrives?

I know my CHARACTER was made an officer, and that's just fine, but it's never been my intent to override another PLAYER'S desires or wishes as to how to go about playing this game. I wouldn't like that in their shoes, I'll tell you that. I'm just trying to RP Cor as best as I can while getting input from the other players as to how best to proceed - especially given that my time for posting has been curtailed the last couple weeks.

Hope this all helps, I don't have much time on my hands for a thoughtful post, just letting you all know my thoughts here.

Zaeta (pic) | 6|10|5|10|8|7 | Legal Officer | Homeworld: Torment (Entropic Worlds 0720) | (Additional link to Profile)

Not sure what is expected here.

We were going to let the former hostages go, but we heard other shooting in the building, so that seems like it was the wrong thing.

Then we explored the possibility of defending this room, but were told it wasn't really defensible (which makes sense with all the exits), so that seems like the wrong thing.

We also can't just leave the hostages here... that's just as bad as letting them go, especially with the room not being defensible.

And then we're asked if we are going to split the party like that is a bad thing as well...

I'm just not sure at this point what else we CAN do but split the party at least temporarily... someone needs to at least peek out and find a better place for the former hostages to be safe before we can go hunting or whatever else is expected here. I'll pursue that path in the game thread, but if we aren't doing something you need us to do, then please make it more clear.

About the rest of it though, I am role playing my character as I see fit, and that includes following orders because that is part of the game.

I'm trying my best not to put my thumb on the scale or indicate that there's some "right" answer here. There isn't. There are definitely more exciting pursuits and less exciting ones, but those are your choices to make.

You don't know this city. If you want to know about safe places (or any places), why not talk to the many NPC's around you?

I don't like games where there is only one right answer or where the GM tells you the "right" combination of buttons to press. I've just created the situation. You guys figure out what you want to do. Hole up and wait? Fine. Go out and attack? Fine. Something else? Fine.

Just do what seems FUN to you.

and hey, let's remember, that's what FREY did ;)

I don't know about the whole universe, I guess, but I just had this feeling that Sword Worlds doctors only save 'good' people. So he blasted the 'evil' people ... until now. Now though, he's going to save people, because that's what innocent people deserve. I may even re-write the Hippocratic Oath for the Sword Worlds ...

"First, allow no harm."

I also don't think that, "So you want to split the party" is some "harbinger of doom" phrase. As a GM, for me, it means I need to keep track of 2 locations, end of story. In this case, to me, it makes total sense. We need 2 groups. We need an infrastructure/support team, and we need a recon team. Simple. It's exactly what we need right now.

re taking orders: we all know what we signed up for. I mean, we ALL. Us the players, and us the characters. So really that's taking orders AND giving orders.

Hopefully no one in their right mind would even imagine the idea of coming into Frey's Sick Bay and demanding anything, let alone giving an order without checking with him. Yes. Including Skander. We can imagine Frey putting him on notice in their interview process, like why else would he take the job? The money we aren't making? NO. Because that's the way the world works and he wanted to be part of the success of this mission.

The opposite is true too though; the chain of command is the chain of command. If a senior officer lays out a plan which presents no direct conclict to "First, allow no harm which isn't previously agreed to" Frey is going to comply. That's how the world works.

Anyway ... I had some thoughts so I thought I would share them.

Set up a triage center?
Make sure all the civilians and injured are covered from sight?

Yes. If you're going to hole up, you can do that.
