So long as they're down for polygamy.

Anorak the Avalanche would be most grateful for yet another staunch party member to stand behind.

Hello everyone! I'm the paladin friend that Ang mentioned. I need to make changes to her crunch in her profile since I've scaled her up but the background would be accurate (apart from following a Pathfinder deity)

Welcome!

Roeganjoe the Balor |

And here comes the good guy! I love interviewing Paladins! shouts a booming voice that is definitly not Eriths out of Erith
Thats because you get loot out of it twerp
shouts a melodic voice, that also sounds like 20+ charisma and definitly isnt Erith either, out of Erith.
As opposed to you, who is getting what? Henchmen? Husbandos? Temporary amusement? Asks the booming voice
Compatriots, friends, in some cases even Consorts? Look, if I had a "SMESH FIRST ASK QUESTIONS LATER" policy we couldnt be using this mortals eyes to livestream the entire bossfight. Answers the melodic voice.
VILE FIENDS! RIGHTEOUS SHAGAMBI WILL SMESH YOU! shouts a voice that sounds like Shagambi the trickster god.
F!!$ me, I am so going to take out my migraine on that effing late term abortion in progress. Thinks Erith

By the way, if Anorak swearing is a concern, I will cut it out. It just feels right for him.
Since my access to Roll20 is limited, I hope to rely on Mike. Just hoping she doesn't blind herself, spins and then chooses...

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

I have my self moved. GM can you give me access to Anorak's token?

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

It is the weekend, paradoxically when people have less time for this sort of thing.

Angie H |

@Mike, there is no platform to get to. Here is a side view of the room. The circular thing in the map is the cylinder/Soulmonger. It is 20 feet high, and the tentacles are on top of it. There are three struts leading to the bottom of the SM, but the three struts aren't connected to each other. So you could walk along the strut to the base of the SM, but then you'd have to climb 20 feet up to the top of it. That would put you about even with the atropal. It is huge, so 15x15x15 feet, and hovering between the level of the balcony and the ceiling (which is 30 feet high). I wish we could map this easily in 3D.
Does that make more sense?

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

Hmmm. Ok I think I stay on the balcony and cast Sacred Flame on the atropal. Maybe next turn I'll venture onto the strut.

My plan is to use Transmute Rock to turn the cavern walls to flowing mud. Thereby causing anything anchored to them to fall into lava.
Just a heads up.

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

I did roll for negative energy last turn, its in the spoiler long tentacles. Where I also rolled for the damage to the tentacles for entering the AoE of spirit guardians and them starting their turn within that AoE. This is also where I crit the atropal with my spiritual hammer.
I take it sacred flame didn't work but I assume you have everything else I did accounted for?

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

Anorack, cannot being both technologically impared and on his phone. But I know what he's going for: Black box, 40ft square, just enough to get all three of the adamantine struts in one spell where they connect with the balconies. The balconies, which are presumably non-magical rock of any sort.
Also it looks like Erith might be in the area but its less of a concern for her.
The crazy plan:
Step 1: Turn the points where the adamantine struts anchor to mud.
Step 2: The struts and the cylinder fall into the lava, taking 10d10 or 18d10 damage depending on how deep they go.
Step 3: Since the atropal is still attached via umbilical and/or web, it also gets dangerously close to the lava.
Step 4: We won?

![]() |

Thank you, Mike! Yes, that would be the plan. Because of the struts being adamantine everything should sink...lol.
I agree that this particular combat is just the appetizer. That's why the quick plan so we can scout for the real threat.
EDIT: Again, I apologize, but my current circumstances allow for only phone access. I appreciate your patience and assistance.

I've made a character condition table, which I'll try to keep updated. The link is here and also in the header.
Reminder to roll your CON save vs the Wail - I think I only have rolls from Erith and Thip, both of whom saved. If there are any missing rolls by the time I post again, I'll take care of them. I'm always happy to do so, I just know as a player I prefer to roll for myself.

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

How big is the cauldron in this post? Need a size category.

Erith "Beerfiend" var Emrys |

So, here is Eriths cunning plan:
Free action: Echo flies up to the Lich, past the black sphere (without touching it) hoping to get behind the the lich.
I do not know if the echo can just fly up to the Balcony there or if theere is something stopping that.
Bonus action: Erith switches places with her echo, having her real form appear behind/next to the lich, with 15 movement to spare.
I do not know if there are "no teleportation effects" on the balcony.
Interaction action: Erith Transfers her greatsword to her left hand (cannot attack with it, but I think its a free action to change the grip back later, gives me one free hand for the grapple)
Pretty sure this is legal (but I may confuse it with PF1E), can also sheath the weapon which definitly would be.
Action: Erith attempts to Grapple the Lich (first attempt), and then bites 3 times. If the grapple succeeds:
Move action: Using 10 feet of her remaining movement, Erith moves the hopefully grappled Lich unto the black spinning sphere.

Angie H |

A few thoughts:
Echo is currently about 15 feet above the level of the balconies, as that's where the atropal was. Echo can only move 30 feet in a round, and it's 27 feet to the lich in a straight line. So if echo wants to get behind, it'll take an AoO from Acererak. If he hits it, it's gone, as I understand?
You can sheathe the weapon as your interaction action.

So, this current round Anorak casts Transmute Rock again. Lich counters. Anorak Counters his counter and here we still are but minus an extra spells slot?

![]() |

I meant let us try that again. This round current, Anorak will just it again. He is determined to see the glory work!

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

If he didn't want his precious artifact to be melted he shouldn't have put it over a pool of lava. Villains!

Liliyashanina |

Down to 48 HP, will probably bonus action for second wind, move 5 feet away from the mudslide, draw greatsword and unload on Mr. Lich, probably action surging to unload some more.
Good thing he didnt make Thip blow me up, he would almost certainly have succeeded in this.

Angie H |

Nice plan Erith, but two problems. Acererak goes first, then Thip - they tied for initiative so I gave it to the lich so that we weren't splitting the initiative order any more. So Thip first, then you.
Also, dominate monster doesn't require concentration, unless you cast it as a 9th level spell and want to hold it for 8 hours.
BTW, you get your reaction back at the beginning of your turn, so Acererak has a reaction in his pocket, ready to go. But so does Anorak.
I always forget about Indomitable, nice save!
PS - forgot to remind you that anybody with Exhaustion is at disadvantage to ability checks, which the vs grapple roll is.
I'm irritated that I didn't get enough turns with the atropal to get anybody down to level 3 exhaustion (and that you mostly saved) - that's when it gets juicy. Bloody munchkins.

Erith "Beerfiend" var Emrys |

Hmm, Thip gets a new saving throw whenever he takes damage, unpractical for me to achieve but someone could magic missle him?
Thing is, he is still only going to save against these on a 20.
Alternatively, hold person/dominate/charm person etc. on Thip to joink control of the toothpick dispenser back?
If it comes from mike, whom he is not fighting, yet, Thip should not get advantage.
Or hold person?
Or disarm him, thats what I do with toothpick dispensers if I am GMing :).

Michaela "Mike" Dornslagdam |

I can either dispel magic the dominate and hope to roll high or bestow curse Thip and he'll never act again this combat. The latter has a better chance of working but takes Thip out of the combat. I was gonna use bestow curse on the BBEG but you know how plans go.
Edit: I'm holding off on action until I see how Anorak's counter spell works. I believe he needs to make a DC 18 check for it work.

I feel you, a certain Mad Hatter recently out of the boxed away a shoggoth on turn 2.

I figured he’d be closer if the tentacles can reach us all. Admittedly I can’t always access Roll20 to move Eliora around…
