Not important this time, since it was an easy check and two of us already passed it...but could I have also rolled with to notice the broken steering wheel with my proficiency in Vehicles (Water)?
(And if so...would I have used a stat to modify the roll?)

Yes. Normally I just include that in the check using lots of passive skills. But I was hurrying this morning before work when I realized that I missed stuff.
Cheers

Cool, no criticism--you're piloting us expertly, even when I or others lag at times--just wanted to know. (I'm still learning 5e, though I find I like it more and more.)
Usually the vehicles proficiencies act just like a tools proficiency on a raw ability check, letting you add a proficiency bonus when relevant.
So, if it was knowledge about a boat, the roll would likely be something like d20 + int mod + proficiency bonus. Similarly to quickly do the sail rigging in difficult conditions or something it might be d20 + dex mod + proficiency bonus. Without vehicles, you wouldn't get the proficiency bonus added.
DM could also say it grants advantage, which would be mathematically equivalent to another +5 bonus on top of the +2 (current proficiency bonus).

Blacklock should be back up to 18 hit points, right? I didn't miss where he's taken more damage somehow? I don't want to commit to attacking if he's still that low.
Argryi, I can take care of the poison, but I need to be able to touch you for the spell. It may have to wait until combat is over.
* Saltmarsh *
Yes. Witch Bolt is lost when you miss.
Yes. Blacklock has 18 hit points. Drusilla and swarm are between Kwin and Blacklock and the door to the Captain's Quarters.
Argyri saved and no longer has the Poisoned condition.
cheers

Drusilla. Just some meta gaming tactical facts. Your character is engulfed by one swarm. There are no adjacent enemies. Swarms have resistance against nearby non magical weapons.
Do you really want to green flame blade the swarm?
Cheers

Not really I would retreat to the water then. I have no real boom spells memorized.

1. Magic Missile
2. Move to attack the spider or ettercap with your green-flame blade. Both have adjacent enemies

Dru, for what it's worth, I vote for magic missile vs a swarm. There are several, they do a bunch of damage, and they're resistant to everything that everyone in the party can do at this point (I think) other than you.

Whether we rest or not. I have 3 healing potions. Is there anyone with none.
Blacklock has 2 currently. He also carries a healing kit for stabilizing people, of course its his own dumb ass that has been on the ground more often than not.
Agree with Kwin's strategy of only/rarely using healing magic in battle.
Hmm, I don't think I am seeing map updates for some reason.

Hmmm...would Argyri (with proficiency in water vehicles) have any opinion about clearing webbing with fire?
I was about to suggest it...but dunno how flamable this wooden boat would be if we start waiving a torch around the webbing.
(If she wouldn't, she may ask the Q. Is there a roll someone would want to make for that?)
Jub, no I don't see it. I see the main deck, quarter deck and forecastle and our icons in a line below that.

Yeah. Good question. Fire and ships don't mix in my d&d as in real life. I don't know if you remember that your first ship replaced all the lanterns with ever-burning hooded lanterns, which you could have taken. There were a dozen or so on the Sea Ghost
@Blacklock, you should see a one whole deck with three sections: the main deck is in the middle, the aft was the captain's quarters, and the fore is what your characters are looking into from the door. To the right of that whole deck view are the top decks of the forecastle and aftcastle. Do you see that?
@Everyone can everyone see what I'm describing in the Google Doc?
cheers

From the doc:
Outdoors Marching Order: (front-to-back): Badger, Argyri, Drusilla, Kwin, Tarn, Blacklock
^ that works for me, unless someone else wants to take the lead. Argyri has a hard no for being the first walking into spider webs.

Yes, yes you can. 5 ft cube per action. Ensuring line of sight.

See, I was *kinda* on the right track. Just, instead of throwing a torch in, I should've thought to throw a wizard in.
;-)
If it had come down to a vote, I would've been pro-torch.

OK team. It was the weekend, so I don't want to penalize players for RL.
Drusilla is starting to magically clean the webbing. Badger has indicated that he is going in first. But now, we've two PCs saying that this might not be the best course of action.
These are the two marching orders, so it seems we're in the Outdoors marching order:
* Indoors Marching Order: (front-to-back): Argyri, Blacklock, Kwin, Drusilla, Badger, Tarn
* Outdoors Marching Order: (front-to-back): Badger, Argyri, Drusilla, Kwin, Tarn, Blacklock
Not to over-analyze, but I'll progress tonight after work in case more discussion is needed.
@Argyri & Tarn, you both have not used any HD during the Short Rest, even though you're down HP. Unless I missed it. Everyone else is full HP.
cheers

I used one HD here and an back to 28/32 hp. I updated your sheet too yesterday.
Given Tarn's comment, I like: Tarn first to advance, but Dru clearing the way first for him, with prestidigitation, where possible.
EDIT - to pull that together, what about the following order?
Tarn, Drusilla, Badger, Kwin, Blacklock, Argyri
Male Forest Gnome Ranger 6 HP 36/49 | AC 16 |Hit Dice 4/4d10 |Init. +4 | Speed/Swim 25ft| Passive Perception 12

I used 2HD and am 2HP down. Bad rolls. But it’s alright because Armor of agathys makes up for it

I like the marching order.

Marching order after Tarn?
Fine with the marching order.

I'm here; I just want to see how Tarn does with those saves before I decide on my action if possible.

Jubal, FYI, Blacklock mentioned he's attacking the swarm on Argyri not his own.
(Which is awfully nice, and Argyri will be happy to return the favor once hers is dead, unless we agree there's someone else who's in rougher shape.)
---
Also FYI, I've finally updated my stat line...though I think using Jubal's sheet makes sense as the source of truth, and I've updated my HP there too.

thanks. fixed
Indeed both rounds. With something like 6*44=264 effective hp to work through we should focus fire a bit I supposed. :) Regerts not getting something magic with an exotic damage type.

It’s more realistic to flail wildly at several spider swarms. Who thinks straight when that happens?
Yeah, for me the RNG was happy enough to provide that realistic level of simulation in the form of back to back nat 1s. ;)
Honestly thinking we should run, everybody out or at least back to the door for a bottleneck.

That may be right. Let's see where things land at the end of this round.
Personally, Argyri is OK to fight another round or two, if we think it's worth it.
In hindsight, Blacklock (mishima) had it right, strategically, for us to focus fire on a small number of foes at a time. In character, I can totally see that we wouldn't have been disciplined enough to do it...but I'm sure one or more of our characters could have and share that (in character) insight once we either defeat these spiders or retreat.

In movies there is always a barrel around ships. Would rolling a barrel over a swarm of spiders be effective. If in real life I had to get past a giant swarm of spiders crushing them under a barrel feels more affective than double stab.
Lvl 6 Warlock Tarn Copperlocks HP (49/49) AoA (15/15) AC (19) Saves (5/2/4/0/2/5) Spells (1/2) Current Buffs ( AoA ) HD (5/5) Flight (3/3)
Even if not it would be a good writeup for when double stab does good damage.

Yeah, I'm trying not to think too hard about how I sneak attack a mess of tiny spiders with a rapier...and just be grateful that my key combat class feature works. ;-)
