Totally fine with the sweet substitutions, of course.
Just as a request for the future though, Zetara is looking to acquire a sniper rifle since she has that weapon proficiency, so please don't replace all the rifles if one she can use comes up. :)

Sorry about the scarce posting recently - I was having trouble accessing the boards for several days (I think there was some outages?) and then Life has happened the past two.

Just an FYI for everyone, particularly our two shobhad friends:
I just took at look at the maps we have ahead of us. Most of them are not as tight as the Caryards are right now. Though there may be one or two tight squeezes, for the most part there should be room to maneuver.
The final part of the adventure may include one two tight encounters.
Bottom line: things get easier, not harder for two shobhad characters.

We're on the cusp of wrapping up this portion of the adventure. What you have done so far represents roughly the first 25% of this adventure. Any of you who are first level (Janebok, Zetara, and Uchurtai) should be preparing to level up fairly soon. Feel free to begin work on that.
With Christmas upon us, I believe I am going to declare a brief break in the adventure. We will resume on Sunday night (the 26th). It is my wish that all of you have a joyous holiday. I'll be seeing family I don't often see, and cooking my usual Christmas breakfast. I also might be trying to barbeque a duck for the first time.
Though we will be taking a break, feel free to continue with your role playing, and of course Gath should cast his healing spells. I'll be around to answer questions, should there be any...

Wow this format makes for quite a nice sized adventure!
Enjoy the BBQing and chilling with the family.
Have a wonderful holiday, everyone! We are already in the thick of things here, with a small family celebration lined up for Christmas Eve... which we will be up early to begin the cooking for in 22 hours! (Still so much to do...)

You said we were supposed to level up "fairly soon" and that we could start, but not sure when that actually goes live... don't want to change my profile to new stats when I still need to be relying on the old. Should I change it or hold off?

            W00t!
The characters who are currently second level (Sen, Locket, and Gath) will have to wait just a little longer to get to third. Probably a few more encounters. At that point, the three of you will level up to three. AFTER THAT, I anticipate the other three (Janebok, Uchurtai, and Zetara) will level up to three at the appropriate time in this adventure.
At the end of this adventure, EVERYONE will level up to four. If we decide to continue with The Liberation of Locus-1, I anticipate that everyone will then be on the same schedule for leveling.

Move action to stand up from prone. This will draw an AoO from Locket. It then uses a guarded step to move into position in front of Zetara (as shown on slide 2). This maneuver by Locket was a good one.
Not only may he take an AoO, I am awarding a bottle cap.
Thank you kindly for the bottle cap. I'm pleased it worked out. Now to get down to business...
Also, I appreciate it, but I don't think standing up provokes an AoO in SF. Only leaving a threatened square or casting / using a ranged weapon.

Ugh. You're right, of course. I -think- it might provoke in PF1, and that's why I was confuzzled.

Hiya folks, just checking in to say I’m still reading along when signal allows and I’ll be available for more regular posting in a few days. Funny that you mentioned ancient ruins and fruity drinks, GM, because on the day you mentioned ancient ruins I was visiting Monte Alban, and yesterday I found myself drinking a piña colada on the beach!
Crazy how things work out like that!

            Zetara, Level 2 Operative:
BAB +1
Ref Save +1
Will Save +1
SP +6
HP +6
Specialization: Spy gives me free ranks in Bluff and Disguise
Other Skill increases (10): culture, diplomacy, perception, profession: spy, profession: xenoarchaeologist, sleight of hand, survival, stealth, computers, engineering
Gain Evasion
Operative exploit is replaced with Archetype skill:
Diplomatic Training [You gain Culture and Diplomacy as class skills. For each of these skills that is already a class skill for you (or becomes a class skill) from a source other than this archetype, you learn to speak and read a new language. In addition, you can use Diplomacy in place of Intimidate for checks to demoralize and Culture for Life Science checks to identify humanoids and monstrous humanoids. When you fail a Diplomacy check to change a creature’s attitude, the creature’s attitude worsens only if you fail the check by 10 or more.]
^^because of that I get one free language. Any suggestions that would be good for this game?
Note: also corrected my initiative to +4. Not sure why I had it calculated incorrectly before.

This is what I have listed in the loot section of my profile from the tire stack:
x2 Credsticks (1 with 30 credits, one with 120 credits)
Under some of the tires you find a consumer backpack hidden under some junk camouflage. Inside the backpack you find a stash of the following useful items: one medpatch, one flashlight, one set of binders, a spell ampoule of disguise self, one suit of environmental clothing (radiation), 2 cover seeds, and 4 days of R2E's. All of this is found in the CRB except the cover seeds (ARM). The junk camouflage is also reusable (see slide 13)
We also had this from before that, if anyone wants any of it:
x2 Flight Suit Stationwear [Level 1; Price 95; Category Light; EAC Bonus +0; KAC Bonus +1; Max. Dex Bonus +6; Armor Check Penalty —; Speed Adjustment — ; Upgrade Slots 0; Bulk L]
x2 Tactical Semi-auto Pistol (each with 9 small arm rounds) [Level 1; Price 260; Hands 1; Proficiency Small Arms; Damage 1d6 P; Range 30 ft.; Critical —; Capacity 9 rounds; Usage 1; Bulk L; Special analog]
x2 Survival Knife [Level 1; Price 95; Hands 1; Proficiency Basic Melee; Damage 1d4 S; Critical —; Bulk L; Special Analog, operative, thrown (20 ft.)]
(Don't be shy about claiming something... Starfinder stuff sells for 10% rather than the 50% you get in Pathfinder, so it is always better to use something you have than sell it.)

Industrial EJ Coverall (Level 2 Armor) - 900 credits
Ion Tape - 275 credits
Zipstick - 10 credits
48 Credits left.

Have we gotten more than just this 500? I’m terrible at tracking loot…
Yes.
This is currently the amount each of you have been paid--somebody correct me if I am forgetting something...
1. 100 credits for the khefak carapaces
2. 500 credits for rescuing Vari-13
3. 500 credits as an advance from Vari-13 for exploration of the Outer Junkfields in search of the crashed ship she is looking for.
Let's add to this the credsticks taken from the gang members, as noted above.
4. 25 credits each from the credsticks
So, that's 1,125 credits each of you have to re-equip. You also might have some credits left over from the character creation, or in the case of Sen, Locket, and Gath, their previous adventures.
IN ADDITION TO THIS, please take a look at Zetara's post from Saturday, above. There are a few weapons and odds and ends that some of you can use. Please claim them! We can recycle what doesn't get claimed (netting you all a few odd credits), but things like the spell ampoule, the cover seeds, and the medpatch really ought to be claimed and used.
IF IT WERE MY CHARACTER, I would choose a cool piece of level 2 gear--probably armor or a weapon. I would also make sure I had things like tool kits, food, and other survival gear for at least a few days out in the desert. We can continue to role-play, but I won't move the story forward for another day or so, giving everyone time to re-equip (and level up, in the case of Uchurtai, Zetara, and Janebok).
