Eltran takes his hands up which looks funny considering that he’s clumsily wearing a full plate armor.
”Look I’m bad with anything manual anyway. I just keep my mind and words as weapons if you agree!“

CLW wand on Hayden: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Hayden uses Eltran's wand to heal everyone. "Well. No worse for wear. Let's keep moving. We need to find them."
Nisha the Damaged

"Oh man, that was SO cool! You just bit right into them!" Dawn's found a new friend. Maybe not a best friend, but man she is so cool.
"It's like how poisonous animals can eat poison berries- they're used to it. Oh! Can you breathe fire? I can spark lightning out of my hands, but I can't spit out some shocks..."
"What? No, fire? No my body just is magically resistant to fire because . . . y'know .. . . somewhere in my ancestry a devil knocked up a human. Or . .. I guess vice versa maybe? Anyway, no I don't breathe fire, I just have big chompers and I'm harder to burn than most."
| GM Ultra Plus |
Standing before the gates to the city’s Second Ring are two hulking skeletons in shining golden breastplates, their thick bones plated with gold. Their huge, gold-plated halberds are crossed in front of the gate, barring the way forward.
Surprisingly, one leans to other, and in archaic Giant, says that she could really use a halfling child to eat. The other one groans. She's made the same joke every day for thousands of years.
There's really only combat throughout this module. If y'all have an idea on how to distract these giant gold-plated skeletons, and get around with combat, I'd love to hear it. Map is slide 1.

Eltran... does that something to inspire people, and Golthwur uses someone else's magicks to blast at the big ogre. With a great big thundering halbred blue charges forward and attempts to skewer Sir Hayden. And he skewers Hayden well for 22 points of piercing damage.

Angela might also be a bit of a one trick pony but her trick is fairly consistent... if she's not fighting alone.
Angela steps forward and studies the ogre skeletons for a moment. After a second inspecting the skekletons, in Orc she comments, "OOF, Your mother's must have hated birthing such rock heads as you!"
She gets just inside the reach of the blue skeleton and lashes out to parry off any strikes that might be aimed at Dawn when she comes closer.
“This type of enemy has weak points here, here, aannnd here!” +1 Longspear, Aid another, studied: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 26
"Dawn, I'll try keeping him off your back, just be careful when you close the distance, hmkay?"
| GM Ultra Plus |
Everyone starts dancing back and forward, taking care to avoid these giants's towering halbreds. Nisha's longspear cracks some of the gold plating. Hayden's able to see through the blood and pain and knock an arrow on the ogre's shoulder. Angela tries to cover for Dawn. The other Ogre says <"Oooh, the gods have answered my prayers a halfling!"> in Giant. She charges forward with her halbred and pierces Angela's thigh for 20 points piercing.

Acrobatics to avoid Blue's AoO (and Red's if Dawn gets too close): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

As best as Dawn tries to scrape away from the ogre's halbred, even with Angela's Assistance, it still scores a mighty scratch, but Dawn's warhammer clangs against the gold and shatters the ogre skeleton.

Blood begins to flow freely under Hayden's armor as his body continues to feed Dawn and Angela's life force. He groans. "Bring this thing down quickly!" He prays to Sarenrae for her redemption and some of the blood stops.

Red reflex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
In a potential life saving swing, Eltran causes the ogre to lose her hold on her weapon. Hayden cycles some pain away from his allies, though his god doesn't give him enough to keep his pain at even keel. Considering the size of the monster, Golthwur always has a bead on this thing and he unleashes another magic missile.
With the Ogress' weapon greasy and on the floor, Nisha's able to slip in and hit the Ogress with her spear. The Ogress steps in, drawing a new weapon and tries to rip Angela apart with her Ogre Hook.
Red Attack vs Angela: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

CLW Infusion, Hayden: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
CLW Infusion, Hayden: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
22 healing to Hayden, 1 infusion left.
Angela Isafira
|
Probably more efficient to keep piling Dawn's and Angela's damage on Hayden and heal him up. I'll leave an infusion behind if we're planning on moving ahead or we can use it if we finally rest.
Sir Hayden Greyrun
|
Yep. In 12 seconds, Hayden will have 24 damage and everyone else will be fully healed.
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Had to laugh about the halfling GM! ;-)
"Let us continue then!"
| GM Ultra Plus |
Every ogre chef knows that halflings are incredibly succulent. In a traditional ogrish meal, they cover their heads to hide the decadence of a halfling meal.
The second ring of the Xin-Grafar is separated by a floor to ceiling wall, making it a cavern within a cavern.
Immediately ahead, the gold-plated road reaches a crossroads and disappears beneath a mound of partially melted treasure. Gold coins, weapons, armor, and glittering gems cover the entire intersection in a mountain of wealth that reaches ten feet high.

" 'S.O.B.'?" Golthwur mutters at the mention of his nation. "Ah, yes I see. It is an acronym of sorts? Spellcasters Of Brilliance? Superior to Other Beings? Someone of Benefit?"
"In any event, this display of gold does appear to be quite austentacious, doesn't it. Well, I assure you, if it be an illusion, I Golthwur Strath, Finder of Figments and Revealer of Rises, shall discern the truth!" Golthwur casts detect magic and tries to note any magical effects that may be at work.

Dawn Verda
|
"Oh, is this the shiny stuff people fight over?" Dawn glances at it. "No one's fighting it over here. That's how you know it's dangerous!"

It does not detect as magic. Eltran would estimate the gold would be more than the royal treasury of the Thakur of Jalmeray.

Angela produces a set of tools from her suit jacket and comments, "I've had to disable more than a few traps before. I can take a look at it, but unless we recally need to, I suggest we push on ahead and avoid messing with the dangers here. This is very likely cursed as well as trapped."

"It's a toss up between being prudent and Explore-Report-Cooperate. I'm sure some history buffs back at the Grand Lodge like that Gnome Grundersnutt would be beside themselves to get their hands on that pile of history . . . assuming it's real and not cursed of course."
Grundersnutt is another one of my characters. A Seeker and a Lore Oracle.

“Yes, yes. I’ve heard of Grundersnutt! He has a strange way to capture knowledge I must say but oh boy this gnome has a deep understanding of what holds the multiverse together!!!“ Eltran says in agreement.
