Terry of Quent |

If that dropped the one "above" Destinie, then I lose the flanking bonus as I attack the one "below" Ming.
Terry shifts his position to get a better shot at one of these rats, and then tries to stick it with the rapier.
Rapier: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 I guess a flanking bonus won't mean much either way.
Piercing: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Threat confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Won't confirm whether flanking or not
Piercing: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Irrelevant.
If he has flank on the attack
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 6 11 potential total, more than enough for any of the Dire Rats.

Ellie Dewblossom |

Seeing one of the other pirates smiling cruelly at her inaction, Ellie decides to go down anyway. Weapon awkwardly in hand, she climbs down to the bilges.
Attacking the one in the corner by itself.
Courage (fauchard) + bless: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14

Abel of Rahadoum |

Abel sighs as yet another of their number enter down, down, down into the bloody bilge. The Wizard takes yet aim again at a Dire rat.
Ray of Frost, bless: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 181d3 ⇒ 3
The Wizard does wonder where the f@&% these dire rats actually came from; being this far out to sea.
He glances around down there, looking for appropriate sized cages?
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

You foul oversized misbegotten beasties
Seadreamer steps over to the one on Destinie and brings the mace down.
attack: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 3 + 1 = 21
BAB, STR, Bless
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
AC 12 now, and HP 9/12

GMMichael |

Ming puts her back to the bulkhead of the ship and stabs out at the rat in front of her, her blade nicking its cheek
Seadreamer moves forward in the bloody bilge water and brings the mace down on the skull of the rat snapping at Destinie, crushing it.
Abel looks around for cages, see's none as he points a finger sending a ray of frost at the Rat near Lily, causing its left front leg to freeze.
Terry steps to the side and pushes his rapier into the throat of the Rat snapping at Ming. It a serious wound but not a fatal one.
Lily swings her Falchion at the rat Abel hit with the ray and cut it in half.
attack vs ac14: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 192d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
Ellie climbed down inside the bilge and pushed her fauchard into the side of the rat Terry had just stabbed, It fell into the bilge water bleeding.
Brunhild came trotting up to stand next to Abel who glanced at her. She took in Badger, Shevikah, and Patch all studying what was going on.
Destine swung her staff on the one Seadreamer had crushed its head just for good measure.
above Scrimshaw yelled Huzzah! They are all dead! he looked at Patch and the two women as if to say I knew they could do it
Patch looked at everyone and said Throw those bodies over board and clean things up. then get back to work. You can see the Stitchman at evening chow.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

Dipping the head of the mace into the water to clean it.
I'll need to see the Stichman later tonight as a couple of those rats got me good.
He notes where the leather armour is in his mind, as he returns the mace to it.
Don't want to be caught with a someones weapon on the deck and get accused of theft.

Brunhild Liefdottir |

Brunhild looked down into the dirty water filled with rat corpses and realized that she was fortunate to have gotten there as late as she did. Using her spear, she went about the process of stabbing the bodies of the rats so that they could be carried away without having to touch them.

Terry of Quent |

Terry waves the rapier through the bilge water, hoping to get the worst of the mess to dilute into the muck, but he doesn't try to truly clean himself or the blade in the bilge water.
As Brunhild begins making a carry pole with her spear, his face brightens a bit. "Thank you for this kindness, Brunhild. Let me help you carrying that, if I can."
After the corpses are disposed over the side, Terry will use the normal set of ropes for lowering himself over the side to rinse himself off in the open sea. Once back on the deck, he'll use a piece of oilcloth to wipe down the blade.
If anybody in authority says something, he's ready to respond, but if nobody brings it up, he won't either. He quietly moves to simply keep his blade as he scrambles back up the rigging.

Destinie Nicholae |

I forgot about the will save.
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
She was so busy trying to help people that she didn't even notice the rat attacking her. By then, her eyes grew white once more as she struck down the rat in retaliation. By the time combat was over, she wore an expression of sheer hatred.
And that was when everything kicked back to normal.
She placed a hand on her head out of exahustion... then hissed as she realized her wound was in bilge water. Time to heal that up.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
She looked down in relief as her wounds closed up completely, then frowned as she felt something was wrong.
Heal check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
If anyone needs healing, I have one more spell.

Abel of Rahadoum |

Abel frowns at the two pirates, as the rats are dealt with by the new recruits. The Wizard feels that this was a set up; testing them. He fears that they passed.
Abel returns to his duties; distracted by thoughts of what this will mean....

Madame Ming |

I hate rats....
Ming smacks her lips and bows down to wash the blood from her dagger in the puddles of the bilge, then carefully drying the blade on the leg of her trousers.
With a quick flick of the wrist, the dagger suddenly vanishes...
Stitchman eh?
She doesn't look to pleased at the mention of that and when Destinie starts to magically heal herself up, she smells a chance immediately.
Aye, you, good friend.
In three quick steps she's over to Destinie, laying an arm around her shoulder in a familiar gesture.
Nice work you're doing there! You reckon you got some of that magicky energy left for a good friend? I mean from woman to woman, i would rather not let that stitcher stitch me up when i can avoid it. You know, scars and such, don't need those gross hands on my pelt. Better than dying, but not good for the beauty either, mh?
With curious questioning and large puppy eyes she looks pleading to the oracle.

Brunhild gave terry an odd look. Kindness? She didn't bother to correct the man. "Aye then. Let's get the dirty work done before we get a lash."

The cat was out of the bag by now. With a sigh, she slipped the other woman's arm off her shoulder before she placed her hand on the woman's wound.

Afterwards, she whispered into the woman's ear. "I can't do that liberally in here, especially if due to the lash."

GMMichael |

It was a good day for the newcomers, as they all were successful at their tasks as well as slaying the rats. As the end of the day bell rang they made their way upstairs where they stood with the rest of the crew. Patch stood next to Master Scourge whispering and noone was called up for the Bloody Hour they announced dinner would be salted halibut with potatoes and carrots.
Then The Mistress of sails called out for Abel, Destinie and Ellie to come see her on the forecastle. Glancing that way you saw no other crew members up there.

Ellie Dewblossom |

Ellie rinses her weapon off in the bilgewater, fully aware that the murk is only marginally better than the blood that was on it, but at least her precious Courage is less likely to rust that way. She stows it next to her cot before she can be told otherwise, hoping everyone else will forget she has it.
When she returns to the main deck, she cautiously answers the call to the forecastle. What did we do now?

Abel of Rahadoum |

Abel nervously straightens his robes, fiddles with his nonexistent hat, and he even cast Prestidigitation to tidy up for his first interview with the Ship's Wizard.

Destinie Nicholae |

She wasn't sure what to make of what's to come. The mage was hard to spot as it was. And there was no telling what kind of person she would face. Regardless, she made sure to at least smell less filthy than she currently did. So the oracle made her way to the forecastle. Judging by who else was there, she had a fairly decent idea what it may be about.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

After the dinner and bloody hour, Seadreamer makes his way over to the stichman so that the last of the injuries can get closed up.

Madame Ming |

Feeling the healing energy rush through her and close her wounds, Ming let out a relaxed sigh.
It felt good.
Thanks! That feels really good. Don't worry, i got you. If you need something, let me know. she replied winking an eye.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standing on deck for the evening call, her body aching despite the magical healing, tired and hungry, Ming awaited dinner with a grumbling stomach. Even if it was fish again. At least it was fish and not rats.
Nobody called out on bloody hour felt new and meant no real entertainment, but was probably a good thing.
With curiosity and a bit of worry she watched and listened as some were called to the mistress of the sails.
What was going to happen?

Madame Ming |

Getting curious, Ming slowly tried to approach the forecastle and inconspiciouosly get somewhere she could hear what was spoken above.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
One never knew, knowledge about the Mistress of the Sails might come in handy.

Destinie Nicholae |

Destinie took a deep breath and stepped forward to state her case. "May as well. Not like I can keep it a secret anymore." She put up an air of confidence as if to show that she wasn't intimidated by the stern woman (even if she was a bit internally).
"I can heal people, help guide them to strike better and make enemies think they're weapons are hot. The magic comes out through me and not from some components. As to where they come from... I don't know. I felt it was from Desna, but it might as well be Besmara given where I ended up."
She hesitated, then decided to deliver one last thing. "Danger causes me to... get possessed in a way that I can only speak and hear one language. My crewmates called it Aquan. It won't stop me from fighting, but it's all sorts of annoying when trying to talk to someone."

Abel of Rahadoum |

Abel approaches the Mistress of Sails. The Wizard bows. He grins, as Destinie explains her abilities. Abel then gets a bit excited about learning Aquan.
As the Mistress of Sails' eyes turn a stern gaze at him, Abel clears his throat, straightening his robes a bit needlessly.
Abel of Rahadoum, Ma'am. I studied at the Occularium; which is a college of wizards in the city of Manaket in Rahadoum.
Abel waves a hand out to the surrounding seas.
I have come down to the Shackles to explore the cyclops empire of Ghol-Gan. I may have step into it though.
The Wizard then refocuses.
I am of the Poleiheira adherents. My talents lie in discovery.
Diplomacy (Int): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Ellie Dewblossom |

Interesting. Three different magic-capable people, three very different sources of magic. "And I'm a priestess of Cayden Cailean. The god of sailors, some call him." She decides to leave out the fact that she has yet to meet anyone else aside from her own father who calls him that. "I don't know any major spells, just some simple ones, but I'm a trained healer as well."

GMMichael |

She looked them up and down with an appraising look. then said Arright. I'll be trainin ya to use yur skills for the Capn. Ya will spend an extra hour with me a day on that. Itll be after dinner each night afore you bed down. Ya'll meet me on deck here got it?
First lesson is today.
and she proceeds to show you how to balance yourself with the rocking of the ship in the waves while you cast so you dont lose components, nor fumble words while youre trying to case. Its an intense session but you come away having a greater understanding and appreciation for a ship caster than you did before.

Ellie Dewblossom |

That was... much better than it could've gone. Ellie isn't sure whether she should thank the Mistress for the lesson, or risk having it sound as though she thinks the woman is doing them a favor, so she lets the matter drop as they head to bed.

Destinie Nicholae |

That caster was intense, that's for sure. But it was clear that she knew a lot about casting spells, especially as another person who casts spontaneously. She wasn't going to make friends with her any time soon, but it did give her some ideas as to what her powers might be about. All until she stopped for a moment.
For a moment, I thought there might have been someone else out there.

Madame Ming |

Ming approaches Destinie later that day, drawing her and if anyone of the rest of their gang is around, them too, into a conversation.
Had some sort of lesson today? How did that go for you? Guess they found out you can do some magic after all, he?
She considers her words a moment.
Might be beneficial!
Anyway, want to play some dice or cards?

Destinie Nicholae |

Destinie looked back and sighed. "I think it was bound to happen eventually. But at it's all sorted out now," she nodded. "She at least knows what she's doing And it was nice talking to another person who can cast like I do."
When Ming mentions cards, she responded with a sideways smile. "Alright. I could use a break for once." As the cards are being set, she pointed a finger at her. "But don't think you can pull one on me. I've grown up with too many swindlers around me."

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

Seadreamer looks over at the mistress of the sails, and after confirming that the ladies were not in danger, makes his way to the stitchman.
Oi, I got a couple of bleeding bites that I would like stitched up.

GMMichael |

The Stitchman looks over Seadreamers wounds and nods, looks like you got bit by the rats you fought. You guys did good down their today. The Captain was pleased. You didnt make any friends with Mister Plugg. He expected to have to rescue you. Had a bet with some of the officers you'd fail. Said you were too soft. ...He looked at Seadreamer.Nice to know I gauged you bunch correctly. Won me a bit of coin. You need to watch these, they will likely get infected.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

Aye, thanks for the stitches, and glad that we won you some coin. As for Mr. Plugg, He didn't seem to like us at all.
Seadreamer pauses then carries on.
Got anything I might be able to use to keep any infection away?

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

My thanks Doc
He uncorks one.

He then drinks it all down, and then breaks out in a coughing fit.
Gawd, it tastes worse than you described.

its early evening and the group considers what they will do before they turn in.
Night---choose 1 during crew time. (can take up to 2 more in dead of night but will be fatigued if fail con check DC10 +4 per action taken)
1. Sleep (sleep through the night. Auto recover from fatigue)
2. Gamble. (play or gamble game of chance with other pirates)
3. Entertainment (make a perform check for the crew to entertain them)
4. Influence (per daytime)
5. Sneak (take 20 checking an area out but MUST take chance of discovery)

Abel of Rahadoum |

Abel jumps out of his hammock! The over excited Wizard thinks he may be able to make more headway with the Mistress of Sails.
Returning to the deck, he walks about looking to see if he can unobtrusively strike up a conversation with the Ship's Wizard.
Diplomacy (Int): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Did the previously rolled Diplomacy help?

Brunhild Liefdottir |

Influence: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Brunhild lay in her hammock and stared at the ceiling. The gentle swaying of the ship was slowly putting her to sleep, even though her mind raced. The fact that there had been so many giant rats on the ship was worrisome. The standing water alone would breed disease and would attract gods knew what else. The ship truly was a floating disaster. She thought about trying to talk to the other crew. Perhaps gambling. But the mere thought of them made her stomach churn. She knew that it was something that she *should* do, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. So she eventually just went to sleep, wondering what new horrors would come when she woke up.

Destinie Nicholae |

Seadreamer could see Destinie playing cards with Ming, thinking hard about what hand she has.
"Is that medicine? I could use that. This bite's been itching me ever since I got it."
She takes a gulp of the liquid, and her face cringes as she leans down to try and take it in.
"Warn me about the taste first why won't you. Tastes like piss."
She looks around and sees Sandara nearby. "So what kind of cards you you guys play around here?"
Might as well try the Gamble option this time around.

Seadreamer Stonebeard |

Seadreamer after a bit finally notices Destinie playing cards.
Ah here you are. Stitchman gave this to me, but I have to warn you, it is worse than you think.
He passes over the other bottle of medicine that stitchman gave him.
he then heads to the bilge to check on the armour and mace that were there
after that he heads to bed.

I gotta admit, right now the player's got no small talk ideas. SOmethign about the new spellcasters getting schooled, maybe?

As a matter of fact, Destinie didn't take to kindly to Terry chatting up Badger, but that can come at another time.

Ming laughs at Destinie not liking the liquor and empties hers in one gulp.
You should probably take some more, so you can blame loosing on the liquor! Hehehehe...

Who else knows, um--" Frantically, she racks her brain to come up with a song she knows. Nine hells, I should've planned this better! "'The Innkeep's Daughter'?"

In character. She still holds a grudge over Badger for bringing her into the ship.

GMMichael |

Ming and Destinie want to join a card game, but as of yet they havent scoured any booty so end up just watching a game of cards. Until they find some loot to bet, they are kept from playing.
Destinie, Seadreamer. you get a circumstance bonus of +2 and can roll twice for 3 days to overcome Filth Fever.
By early evening both Seadreamer and Destinie are beginning to feel under the weather
Abel goes topside and cannot find the Mistress of Sails, hes sure shes gone to the officers quarters.
Ellies gets up to sing, feeling a little better today and her voice comes out like the shriek of a harpy. She booed and hooted and laughed at. She finishes the song though and sits down.
Terry tries to talk up Scrimshaw but he seems to be worried and watching the other crew members closely.
Lily has been getting more and more to herself.
Sea Dreamer comes back with the Studded Leather Armor and the Heavy Mace. and adds them to his gear.
If there was anything anyone else wanted to do...or if anyone wants to do any dark of night actions post. otherwise once three have said they are turning in Ill advance to morning.
