Dire rats? In the bilges?! Ellie races to the quartermaster. Thank Cayden we didn't stir them up when I was down there. Panting, she reaches the quartermaster's store. "My polearm. The fauchard. Please. Scourge's orders," she adds.

Cut Throat nods and hands it to her saying Ye know whatll happen if yer found out to be lyin right Missie?

Abel (breathing hard, sweating, and a bit nauseous truth be told) almost shat his pantaloons when Scrimshaw screams some nonsense about Seadreamer. Bilge. Giant Rats.
Say what, now? Patch down there?

Abel calls out loudly as the pirate rushes further away. Shaking his head, the Wizard makes his way down, down, down, to the bilge.
He grabs some mud off the floor boards while he goes; casting Prestidigitation to dry it back into sand.
This better not get me whipped!

The half-elf looks down at the commotion and calls out, "Hoi! What's going on?"

Seadreamer quickly grabs the mace from the floating box and brings it around overhead and the rat ducked it and the mace hit the water splashing he and Ming with stinking bilge water.

Abel grabbed up some wet dirt from the floor and worked it into Sand as he moved forward to the trap door. Both Badger and Shivikah nodded at Able

Lily spun and pulled her axe from her back and went down the ladder and stairs quickly to the crew deck.

Ellie moved to the Quartermaster and collected her Fauchard.

Scrimshaw ran up to Master Gunner Riaris Krine and relayed the information. she smiled with a grimness to her that said death was always near. Well Brunild go help your friends.

then she looked skyward and yelled Quent. Theres Giant Rats in the Bilge. Seadreamer is fighting them and can use some help. Get. Sly will take your place til your back

The Rats all tried to bite their targets again. Ming got bit once and Seadreamer twice.

Terry starts sliding down the ropes, using the shirt to protect his hands, some, thinking about the task after he started moving. "Weapons?" He asks the obvious question as he reaches the deck, still moving towards the hold.

Brunhild nodded grimly. She cared not one whit for the ship, but her kinsman was another matter entirely. She moved with all haste to assist him, not bothering to stop and beg for her weapon which was held in storage.

Destinie would see Ellie run in and get her fauchard from Cut throat. I forgot to roll for destinie. go ahead and roll initiative and ill plug your roll in.

The Master Gunner said to Brunhild' s back as she ran and to Terry who was sliding down the rope Collect a weapon from the Quartermaster.

Brunhild controlled the urge to shoot Riaris an annoyed look and instead ran to the quartermaster. Getting there, she skidded to a halt. Quite a sight to see, she was sure. "A weapon. Riaris said that me kinsman...Seadreamer...needs help in the bilge and that I need to get armed. Had a spear when I was kidnapped. Could use it now." She did her absolute best to keep the bitterness out of her voice as she said it, knowing that getting armed was the fastest way on getting down there.

Seadreamer brings the mace around in a swing that almost took the head off a Giant Rat, but it snapped back glaring at the dwarf with blood running down its face.

Abel moves his hands in a pattern that harnessed the sand. It swirled around him and moved down to settle onto the backs of 4 of the giant rats who fell soundly asleep. Their heads dropping into the bilge water.

Badger and Shivikah stare at Abel and glance at each other realizing hes a wizard and not just a skinny man. Patch smiles and nods.

Terry slid down the rope and moved quickly down the hatch ladder to the Quartermaster receiving a rapier from Cut-Throat.

Lily moved quickly past Abel and grabbed the edge of the opening and suung in to land behind Seadreamer with a splash of bilge water. she says Got your back as she pulls the Greataxe out looking at the short ceiling and wondering about how easy it will be to swing in here.

He waves those downstairs...err...below decks to join him above decks.
Easier if they aren't in water.

She wouldn't get much of an answer so she took a look into the place itself, and she almost gasped at the size of the rats attacking her crewmates. "Rats grow that big?!"

It took a bit of hesitation, but the realized that the dwarves might not last much longer without healing. So with a deep breath, she went down the hatch next to Seadreamer and give him a healing touch, regardless of what rats were there.

"It would be easier if they were up here instead of down there," Ellie grumbles, realizing her weapon would be of little use in such cramped quarters.

I don't have much to do this fight, so I'm just gonna hold for now.

Abel nods to Destinie.
Yes, ma'am. In Rahadoum--which is where I am from--there are stories of dire rats so big; my aunt tells of my uncle mistaking one for the outhouse.

Abel then snaps his fingers at Ellie's comment.
Right! Better for us; worse for them.

The wizard just grins stupidly at the two ladies.

If I've got the measures right and no one stops him, Terry can reach the opening and drop into it, but should be done for the round. In case I'm off a bit and he can attack . . ..

Ming grabbed the mast and swung up and over rats landing across from Seadreamer yet again, a splash showing her panache with swinging over there. A quick stab of her dagger and another Giant Rat was injured.

Seadreamer smashed the Rat that had shifted away from Ming, killing the already injured rat.

Abel points down into the bilge and frost coats one of the ears of a giant rat as Abel exhorts his knowledge of the Rats of Unusual Size and dangers of the Fire Swamp.

Terry came running up and dropped into the bilge next to Seadreamer, bringing his Rapier up to the ready.

you're right. It was all Terry could do to get down into the bilge this round.

Lily swung the Falchion at the rat with a frosty ear and cut its head from its body. The bilge becoming red from blood.

Brunhild gets back to the top of the stairs down to the crew deck, weapon in hand.

Destine quickly swings in and risks the snapping jaws of a rat to put a healing hand on Seadreamers shoulder and watching the positive energy descend to his legs healing most of the wounds received from the rats. Destinie jumped to the side, barely dodging the fangs of one of the rats.

Destinie knew the risk that came from healing her friend. She also wasn't defenseless. When the rat tried to bite down while she was healing, she shifted her body without the need to even look at the rodent (albeit a bit close for comfort). A brief check at the wound would see that it had mostly healed.

"Alright, it looks like you're mostly good to... ACK!"

That rat recovered far sooner than she thought, and she nearly dropped to a knee from the bite alone. Yet she steeled herself to keep standing and swung wildly at the rat in retaliation.
