Ellie has tanned skin and corded muscles from hard work at sea, her blonde hair bleached from the sun. The daughter of a sea captain, Ellie is bold and brash and accustomed to deferential treatment aboard a ship, knowing what needs to be done and when. She’s fiercely proud of her pistol— an expensive item at the best of times, it was a present from her father as a symbol of the office he intended to someday pass to her. She sees it, therefore, as not just a weapon but also a status symbol.
Captain Dewblossom, her father, caught fever aboard his ship Thunder during an ill-fated trading voyage. His first mate was forced to sail them into the nearest port-- Port Peril, in the infamous Shackles. Worse, the captain did not survive the trip. Wary of the locals and left without the captain they had sworn to, the crew stuck together in a dockside tavern, The Formidably Maid, while the ship resupplied. Ellie left for a breath of air and a bit of peace to grieve for her father, and the last thing she felt was a savage blow to the back of the head.
Future Plans:
Ellie’s leadership experience has prepared her well for moving up the ranks on a foreign ship. Her teamwork abilities make her a martial support character, unafraid of combat but working best with a team. She will later gain at least one bard level (how many will depend on how the campaign progresses) and eventually take the Battle Herald prestige class, becoming a fearsome tactical commander. Her dream is to captain a ship of her own, with a privateer’s chit or without one.
