Quickblade flushes with embarrassment at being discovered.
"I...I... I was told to pick it up by one of the people outside, " he stammers, "Is it customary to play pranks on woodsmen?"
The guard laughs. "When I started, I had to jog 10 times around the camp... wearing nothing but a green towel around my waist! At least it didn't rain this time. Now give it back to Kallade, it's not supposed to leave our person..."
---
Kallade looks at you all once more. "So... time and place? I can't pay the other half here."

"Come tomorrow when the note was left next to the flower pot. Be there before dawn." says Makai hoping that the woman understood.
Then the dwarf gives a sign to the others that she is ready to leave and go to the warehouse to meet speak with Themolin

GM chadius |

The guard nods. "Makes sense. See you then."
---
Wednesday, 18:00
The sunlight bears down on everyone as you leave the guardhouse and move towards the warehouses. The cheers of the crowds begin to thin out until you see people keeping to themselves and giving you lots of space. No guards patrol this neighborhood, either.
The warehouse stands out from the dilapidated housing that surrounds it, as it’s well maintained.
Put yourselves on the map on <Slide 1>.

![]() |

Quickblade loosens his weapons in their sheaths, as this looks a bit dodgy.

![]() |

Makai looks around "Anyone sees the guy?" she asks getting her shield strapped to her arm
She leaves her Warhammer at her belt but it does not hurt to carry a shield. She closes her fist making sure that her spiked gauntlet can be used if the need arises.
"Let me see if he is waiting inside."
If no one feels particularly sneaky Makai would head to the double doors on the western wall and open them. If that triggers whatever is here to trigger that is fine.

![]() |

Sorry for being quiet. I saw that Chadius is on vacation, so I figured we have time.
Ysoldt stops the dwarf. "Wait, Makai. You're a walking tin can. I'll try to probe a little.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Yea - time to put them hero points to use.
Stealth Reroll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
The acrobat unstraps her dagger in her sheathe but leaves the blade in for now. She walks around the place as quietly as she can, and returns to the party.
"There's a door in the back. Probably less visible compared to these doubles over here.", she points at the two sets of doors in the building indent.

![]() |

Quickblade looks around. Seeing that the area around them is deserted, he pulls his crossbow from its sheath behind him, cocks it, and loads a bolt. "I don't like the look of this," he says quietly.

![]() |

"Hold on, I hear somoene. Yelling and laughing."
One person or more? is there a window to peek thorugh?

![]() |

Quickblade sidles up to Ysoldt.
"Which direction is the sound coming from?" he asks in a low voice.

![]() |

Good question. I will point you towards the master of games. From the inside is the only info I have.

![]() |

"Well, we can assume there's more than one. Unless the person inside is not right in the head. Let's be careful. I don't like the looks of this."

![]() |

"You know, if there are only two, its a big building, they can't be everywhere. If there's another small door, no doubt it'll be locked, just right for my fingers to enjoy the challenge." He smiles looking at Ysoldt, another with some similar skills.

GM chadius |

Ysoldt notices someone talking from the northeast corner of the warehouse. She notices two entrances to the warehouse, one to the east and one north. The door is thick enough she can't really hear the words. Maybe a man's voice?
The southernmost door facing east seems to be locked.
3 DC 20 Thievery checks (you must be Trained and must have Thieves' Tools) will unlock this. Don't Crit fail or you lose a success (or jam the lock if you have no successes)

![]() |

Makai looks at the doors and at Jacknife and Quickblade, she pushes them towards the doors letting them know that everyone is waiting for them to open the lock.
She walks towards Ysoldt
"If the fight will come, keep me between yourself and the enemies. As a walking tin can I don't move as fast."

![]() |

Ysoldt gives Makai a smile. "Oh come on, it's not an insult. I was just pointing out that your armor is functional, but ... probably more audible than desired for the situation.", she pulls out her dagger from a sheath on her right shin. "Also, I am no coward.", she shows her blade and winks.

![]() |

Jac steps forward, he undoes the string around some strangely shaped tools. "I'm better at pockets but here goes..." He looks at the lock and starts to try his luck.
Thievery 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
"This is a bit tricky ... not seen anything this hard before, oh well let's try again!"
Thievery 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Hero Point
Thievery 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
"One last try"
Thievery 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Shrugging his shoulder, Jac turns back ... "Like I say, it's very difficult, not sure if it's done it or not... "

GM chadius |

Jacknife knows he made some progress, but not enough.
Jacknife, feel free to keep rolling until you make 3 DC 20 Thievery checks, or you decide to keep the door locked. You have 1 success so far. A Crit fail removes 1 success.
As for everyone else: Gathering at the Northern door? Throwing the door open and running in?
BooBo could probably slip in through a crack in the wall. If you're sending the familiar in, make a Stealth and Perception check to snoop around.

![]() |

Quickblade steps forward and offers to help.
Aid Jac: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

![]() |

Yeah I think we all sit around the Norther doors and wait for the lock to be picked.
Makai waits patiently, she would like to know what the people inside are saying...

![]() |

"Technique, too advanced Jac?", Ysold gives both Jac and Quickblade a smile while fiddling with her dagger.

![]() |

Makai grabs her Warhammer and says "I can open this lock with my tools if needed. Maybe the lock needs more gentle woman's touch"

![]() |

This conjures the image of everyone diving out of the way while Makai breaks the door down :)

GM chadius |

To keep us moving...
Makai takes her warhammer and throws the northern doors open. All is silent… too silent.
Masked humans emerge from the shadow, weapons drawn. You also see a well-manicured man create a puff of smoke from his hands. ”Aha! I knew it! You’re working for Themolin on some unsanctioned activity. I’ll defeat you all, expose him for his crimes and then they will call Barralbus the Minister of Tithes!”
He looks a bit closer and is aghast when he sees Ysoldt. "No... you too? You were also a spy?"
Quickblade: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Avonathalanthalasa: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Jacknife: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Ysoldt: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Makai: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Barralbus: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Hungry Blades: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Barralbus pulls out his spellbook and draws from the arcane symbols within. A green afterimage makes him blurry and Concealed. He draws his crossbow. "Well, what are you two waiting for! I didn't pay you to gawk at my magnificence!"

GM chadius |

Avonathalanthalasa
Quickblade
Ysoldt

Themolin tries to mumble something, but the gag over his mouth holds firm. Barralbus glares at him. "Quiet, you! Once your allies are dealt with I'll get to the truth of the matter."
The evening sun lights up the warehouse and its 30 foot ceilings. Crates are stacked 15 feet up.

Quickblade runs into the warehouse and points his crossbow on an assassin perched on a stack of crates. He focuses his ire on his prey and fires.

Crossbow Ace Feat gives +2 damage and increase damage dice by one step if I spend an action to designate prey

Hearing that danger is afoot she drinks her potion of mage armor and casts shield on herself.

![]() |

Makai calls for the aid of Torag. She closes her eyes and speaks quietly
"Torag the forge father make my shield indestructible so I can protect my allies, grant some power so that my hammer crushes the enemies." Her Warhammer begins to glow with the magic Casting magic weapon
Makai moves forwards, she slams her hammer in her shield making a loud noise
"If you are in need of a fight we will give you one. But I strongly suggest you drop your weapons and let Themolin free."
She stops in front of Quickblade.
Casting Magic Weapon, moving forwards.
She has Reactive shield so if someone approaches and attacks her with a melee weapon she raises her shield AC21

GM chadius |

Makai blesses her warhammer and moves in. Avonathalanthalasa takes this time to protect herself.
Quickblade moves in and takes careful aim at the woman atop the stack of crates, 15 feet up. His aim is good and hits her right in the gut.

![]() |

Having failed to crack the door, Jac moves after the others, getting out his weapon and shield. "And all of a sudden, we have company... "
◆ - interact draw weapon - warhammer
◆ - interact draw shield - steel shield

![]() |

Ysoldt walks into the warehouse and notices that it's Barralbus who set them up. She's honestly not surprised by the fact - what could one expect from a sleazy and powerhungry fool.
She gives him a look that could kill.
Stride twice, demoralise
Demoralise: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
"Not a spy, old man, but I am the one that will use your spine to skip ropes when we're done here."

GM chadius |

Barralbus recoils as Ysoldt stares him down. "You certainly b-bought the best, Themolin! B-but I stand above you all!" He takes a deep breath and then turns to his two allies. "Hurry up already! Take them out!"
The woman in Pink pulls out her shortbow and trains it on Quickblade. "Don't need to tell me." She retaliates with two arrows, hitting him both times.
Pink vs Quickblade: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Pink vs Quickblade: 1d20 + 8 - 5 ⇒ (18) + 8 - 5 = 21
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
The woman in Black pulls out her shortsword and waits, patiently...
Barralbus grunts and reads another page from his spellbook. A ball of pure flame erupts around Ysoldt...
Ysoldt Reflex Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
And she flattens herself against a crate to avoid the worst of the effects.
"I-I don't know what Themolin is paying you dear, but I'll d-double it! Just leave us be!"

GM chadius |

Avonathalanthalasa (Mage Armor)
Quickblade (4 damage)
Ysoldt (4 damage)
Makai (Magic Weapon Warhammer)
Jacknife
Hungry Blades (Pink 16 damage)
The evening sun lights up the warehouse and its 30 foot ceilings. Crates are stacked 15 feet up.

![]() |

I took no damage?
Edit: Thanks, deducted in the posts header. Any chance to climb up to the assassin in case they don't go down this round? Crates should be fine, if they have some weight.

![]() |

Makai rushes into the building, she spots the cutthroat on the crates and decides to leave him be. She turns her attention towards two thugs being on her level.
She takes a swing with her hammer
Attack@black, magic weapon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage, magic weapon, bludgeoning: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
She has Reactive shield so if someone approaches and attacks her with a melee weapon she raises her shield AC21
Double move and attack

GM chadius |

Makai closes in and raises her hammer, only to find the thug in Black ready.
I assume you're attacking the Black clad assassin and not Barralbus, Makai.
Black vs Makai: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Piercing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Makai raises her shield, but the rapier sneaks past and impales her. She retaliates, scoring a solid hit.
Ysoldt looks at the crates and figures she can climb them Athletics check to Climb, DC 12. The stack is 15 feet tall.

![]() |

Yeah, black-clad assassin, I try to post it in my attack rolls: Attack@black, but I should have put it in my description as well.
Makai attempts to block the thrust but it passes next to her shield and finds its way through her armor...

![]() |

Pink survived that hit? Wow...
Quickblade hisses in pain as the arrows slice into him. He reloads his crossbow and fires again.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
In his haste he accidentally pulls the trigger before loading the bolt, causing the weapon to twang loudly. Cursing, Quickblade dives behind a nearby stack of crates to reload his weapon.
