The dogs miss everything as the nimble target zips around the room. What a jerk. JUST STAND STILL AND DIE LIKE MOST ENEMIES!!!
Voices takes a much better whack at it, but at the last moment a magical shield springs into place and deflects the blow. Thyste's attack is also rebuffed by this force, pissing the fox off even more, presumably.
But everything being as it is, the enemy has still taken more damage than the group.
Round 5: Alchemy Class is in Session!
Kobold (-29 HP, bombs used: 2)
Voices (-8 HP, 3 rds prot evil, 33 rds shield)
Purple Dog (Nauseated 2 rds remain)
Green Dog (-8 HP)
Red Dog
Thyste (-13 HP)
Garsita (Nauseated 2 rds remain, Move Action ONLY)
Ruinor
Engashez (Nauseated 4 rds remain, Move Action ONLY)
Bold May Act. Ruinor is essentially the only one up as Nauseated is a brutal debuff.
Environmental Details: The Aisles on the first floor are tight and require any Medium Creatures to Squeeze (half speed and squeezing penalties). The stairs are difficult terrain (going up).
Nauseated: Creatures with the nauseated condition experience stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move actions per turn.
GM NOTE: This is an incredibly complicated encounter with many debuffs, aoo's, extra rolls and other things. Just try your best! It is, fyi, not easy for me to manage either so if I make a glaring mistake just gently mention it. Thanks!

Ruinor's smile as Thyste avoids the web quickly turns to a frown as the kobold also avoids it, then turns into a scowl as it and his companions are hit with a bomb.
"Hmm, seems you've managed to learn a few things from these books," the elf says as he considers his options. Not liking most of them, he throws a glob of acid at the kobold. "Better than nothing. He's a more formidable opponent than I gave him credit for," he thinks to himself.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 4 - 4 = 13

The 'good' kobold wisely moves out of the library to deposit his vomit. Ruinor takes a pot-shot at the 'bad' kobold alchemist, who manages to dodge the acid.
The bugger simply steps back and lobs a small vial right at Voices chest.
Bomb vs. Voices Touch AC: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 for Cold: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4, 2) + 3 = 10
The bomb explodes in a blast of cold ice instead of fire! The big endotherm shivers from the surprise.
Voices has a DC 16 Fort Save or will be staggered for one round from the frost bomb. Thyste also gets splashed by the ice but it isn't very bad. DC 16 Reflex for half of 6, subtracting 5 from the end result.

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Thyste snorts as she feels the heat-- barely.
She sighs, tosses down her spear and her shield which is gonna take a Move action to take off, then tries to climb up!
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Dice? I need you to roll HIGH numbers. The ones with at LEAST two digits. Please?

GM TOP |

Thyste's fur crackles a bit from the cold and her snot freezes in her nose, but otherwise no major harm. She goes to climb the side of the stairs to shortcut her way up, but steps on a loose-leaf pile of papers and almost falls, barely able to keep her balance.
Barely missed the climb DC. :(
Garsita and Engashez void more of their stomachs. There isn't much left in there as it is mostly stomach acid at this point.

The dogs move up and attack, both missing their strikes but at least providing a flank.
Purple is nauseated for another round but red cleared the glitterdust last round so I just swapped their positions on the map.
The Nagaji shakes off the staggering cold, moves up the stairs and attempts to toss the kobold off the ledge.
Unfortunately you can not move a foe with reposition into a position that is intrinsically dangerous and dropping him off a ledge to the floor below definitely qualifies. You could reposition him into any of the squares on the map marked with a red x if you wish.

Just trying to get as many attacks on the kobold as possible, Ruinor pulls a wand from his sash and activates it. Summon monster I. Will put an eagle next to the evasive foe next turn.

Ruinor pulls out a wand and begins the difficult process to activate it. It might take some time.

Firebomb vs. Red Dog Touch: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 for Fire: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) + 3 = 13
With a large explosion the group waits for the smoke to clear. When it does, neither dog remains! It's like they were wiped off the face of this plane.
I believe 13 damage takes out Red and even if Green saves, 3 damage should finish them off. However, the movement did provoke so they still get bites before they go. Voices also gets an AoO.

Sorry about delay. I started a post yesterday but apparently didn't submit it before leaving for my dentist appointment.

Thyste tries to move in and at least threaten the kobold with her pointy stick.
Ruinor summons a nasty looking bird who unleashes a flurry of poorly aimed strikes, none of which land.
The kobold repeats its usual trick of running around and through the group, easily ducking the stab from Thyste. He turns with a big smile as he notices that four enemies are all stacked together. He laughs, "You shouldn't make it so easy for me."
Frost Bomb vs. Thyste Touch AC: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 for Cold - Resistance: 3d6 + 3 - 5 ⇒ (4, 5, 4) + 3 - 5 = 11
It drills the demon fox squarely in the back and cold shards burst outwards, searing Voices and the two summoned creatures.
Thyste has a DC 16 Fort Save or she will be staggered for one round.
AoO's for Voices, Voices's dog and Ruinor's Eagle. They also all need Reflex Saves. It is DC 16 and on a failed save you take 6 cold damage. A successful save reduces that to 3 cold damage.

Thyste grits her teeth; the black smoke actually stops pouring out for a moment. Is it... heat-based???
"Can't believe you're so eager to kill your own kind!" roars Thyste, jostling the bag of what can't be a pair of kobolds in good shape anymore.
Hopefully they're alive. Maybe.
Regardless, she takes a step closer, drops the arrow, and grabs the little bastard!

You can't make AoO's with unarmed strikes unless you have Improved Unarmed Strike. For this reason Spiked Gauntlets are an amazing weapon. But since I am a super generous awesome GM, I'll allow that 20 to count for the dog's AoO.

The dog gets a lucky bite in to the surprise of the kobold. He looks a bit confused by the strike but waves it off as just being one of those random coincidences.
Voices moves up and grasps the Kobold around the shoulders, ready to throttle him if given the word.
Garsita manages to heal everyone but the kobold, which is probably really good for the one in the bag held by the Nagaji.
Thyste moves up and stabs at the grappled target (I'm assuming you don't drop the arrow and instead stab with it), completely and utterly missing. It's like she isn't even trying! :P
The eagle explodes in a shower of cold shards. But the wizard does manage to angle his cone of fire to avoid his allies and scorches the Kobold a bit. Finally a little bit more damage has been done to this nasty enemy!
Reflex DC 17 - Dex Penalty: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 2 = 28

Environmental Details: The Aisles on the first floor are tight and require any Medium Creatures to Squeeze (half speed and squeezing penalties). The stairs are difficult terrain (going up).
Grappled: A grappled creature is restrained by a creature, trap, or effect. Grappled creatures cannot move and take a –4 penalty to Dexterity. A grappled creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple. In addition, grappled creatures can take no action that requires two hands to perform. A grappled character who attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability must make a concentration check (DC 10 + grappler’s CMB + spell level, see Concentration), or lose the spell. Grappled creatures cannot make attacks of opportunity.

This fight is an enormous, chaotic clusterheck and I love it!

Between his spell, the dogs attack, and Voices grabbing onto the kobold, Ruinor is hopeful that this combat is almost over. He watches in disbelief as the alchemist tries to throw another bomb while being held. "How does he think he can aim with that brute holding him?" the elf wonders as he watches the kobold's arm stop abruptly. His eyes get big as he sees the bomb coming in his direction.
Reflex save (DC 16): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Despite it seeming to happen in slow motion, Ruinor watches for too long and can't get out of the way of the explosion.

Thyste sighs and does whatever she needs to do to disarm the kobold of his various magical goods-- even if he somehow gets out, it's better to... not have him be able to fling those bombs and extracts around anymore.
She checks the sack for the status of the other two 'bolds; if they're still any kind of alive, she goes ahead and crams the other one into her Bag of Kobolding.
For what it's worth, it's very clear at a glance that she's been in a fight; there's at least two people's blood on her, her fur is singed in places and still thawing in others, and her grin looks somehow more maniacal than usual.
Also, she's emitting black smoke... but that's normal.

![]() |

Garsita peeks into the sack to check on the inhabitants. If anyone looks badly hurt in there, she will make sure they're at least able to survive another torching.
She also checks on her companions to see if anyone needs healing.

GM TOP |

The singular kobold scout in the sack glares back at her, daring her to do anything. He doesn't look excessively injured. The channeling must have helped.
IIRC most of the damage to that scout was NL, so even taking a couple AoE blasts of alchemical bombs, they are ok.
The group looks pretty injured, especially Thyste and Voices.
