Doing her best to stay behind her shield, Seska takes a flask of oil from a strap holding onto her sash. Holding it in her shield hand, she begins to uncork it and insert the fuse wrapped around the neck of the bottle.

Daniel's at 22/28. But he's a tough guy with decent AC.

As the battle at this section of the wall subsides, the barrier carries quickly pull out/break off the arrows sticking out of it. In response to Seska's question:

"Well hopefully the infiltration team does a good job. Attacking the walls for nothing would've been a waste."

Shortly thereafter, a sneaking shape appears on the wall, looking over the battlements. It is one of the infiltration team. Seeing generally everyone is still up, he gives a short wave, before disappearing from sight. One half of the solid wooden gate opens slowly, and the guy motions for you to quickly come in.

"Quickly, take cover behind the stables.", he points towards an old out-of-use shack with empty stables. It's seen better days for sure. But there is enough space for you to hide, not enough space for all of the archers and barrier carriers though. The gates are left slightly ajar.
"So here's the situation so far. There's several dozens of goblins moving about the fort. Attacking the walls got them up and about, and some loud bang coming from this side got them even more at attention, that sure woke up whoever was still sleeping."

"We passed by a prison on our way out of the keep. Were about three dozen goblin women in there, and supposedly some were taken up to the 1st floor, given two of the cells were empty. We let them out, and man, we didn't need to handle the few guards all by ourselves. They've armed themselves with whatever simple weapons and kitchen equipment they could get their hands on without drawing attention. I've got to get back to inform the others the gates are open. You'll likely hear some signal in the next ten minutes or so. There's going to be quite a ruckus when the townsfolk get through the gates, probably moreso if what the redhead says might happen if the goblin women are out in the open."

"Any quick questions?"

From what layout you got a quick glimpse of, there's a training ground at the center, surrounded by about 2 dozen large tents devided by 2 paths around the training ground. A building that could serve as some storage, a large building of unclear purpose, and a path further towards the keep. But also ruins of other smaller buildings.

Severa whispers back "Good work. How do you advise us to help next?" She had her own strategic and tactical ideas but this person had the best on-the-ground knowledge of the tactical situation.

"Well, it will likely be chaos. This is just speculation of course, but maybe we needn't endanger the townsfolk. The redhead said you interrogated captured goblins, who claim freeing their women could start infighting?"

A moment's pause...
"In any case, leadership is in the keep. The women spoke of a commander riding some flying beast, some 'Commander Tark', and his right and left hands. One's supposedly some sadistic spellcaster, the other some brutish lieutenant with some vicious hounds. I won't go into detail, but let's just say rumor had it the hounds didn't exclusively eat meat from wild game. If you four are up to it, a team each could attack one of Tark's lieutenants, and take things from there on. We'd still probably bump into some troops on our way there, but so far so good."

Realizing Daniel is wounded and is just playing the tough guy, Seska scowls and approaches him, gesturing to any of the other barrier carriers who might look hurt, and prays to St. Elaine for a burst of healing energy around the whole group.

As they talk, Seska keeps her mouth shut for the bulk of the conversation. She's not very good at speaking quietly.
She does ask, "Why were the women locked up?"

Seska nods in agreement as well. So that's why they were so testy. Seksa had no love for the hordes and little regret for fighting them. But no one deserved to be forced into fighting like that. She promises herself to take her frustrations out on the lieutenants.

"Lead the way," she says to the others.

The sneaky guy keeps low and out of sight, making his way back to the keep.

While he is gone, you see figures patrolling throughout visible areas.
Some seem to be giving orders, others organize in small groups.
One such group of 12 makes its way over the path nearer to the stables.

When they are about 60ft away, you see two consecutive glowing dots of red flying upward in the distance nearer to the keep. Each explodes into a display of some fiery effect as they are high enough to see through the fort's grounds. It certainly draws attention.

Not a minute later, there is shouting from different voices, spreading throughout the ranks.

Perception 25:

It is distant, but there's a few words you can make out.

"Prisoners.....en out! ...the..rm now!"
..
...
....

It is as predicted, the whole cohesion changes, as far as you can make things out. Voices of angry women coming from the distance.
One of the goblins shouts to the others:

About half of the goblin patrol turn their weapons on the other, and a fight is about to go down.
You can leave them be and make your way to the keep, or you can help them. The choice is yours.

Since Astella and Severa understand goblin, they hear:

The words come from what is likely the side closest to you.
One goblin standing at the front of the patrol, sounding particularly rude responds:
In goblin:"Kill them all, then we hand em to that houndmaster."

By 'the hordes', i am guessing you refer to the Krewlod version of goblins? On the continent, there are 2 distinct kinds of goblins.
Krewlods are indeed barbaric tribes, short & savage. But goblins looking like greenskinned versions of elf women or human men pop up from time to time. Often but not exclusively working as hired arms or security for merchants. Kn. 10: civilized goblins also live in Deyja. But why any sane civilized person would live there...who knows.

I think I used the wrong term for the people they had been fighting earlier. It's been a looong time since I've played the games and haven't re-absorbed all the lore from the Wiki. Anyway, her internal thought was just basically about "collectively the people we've been fighting." She associates the goblins with those who killed her parents, whether that's a fair comparison or not. Seeing the nuance as she travels will probably be good for her.

Looking at the group ahead, are there any that were on the walls earlier that fled?

Guessing that my earlier-posted action is my round one action instead of being a surprise, so not adding anything, but if I am supposed to take another action, let me know.

I'll take it as a surprise action. It would happen alongside the bad goblins drawing their swords at the friendlies.

Severa rushes forward and tries to blast some of the foes with light but accidentally catches a potentially friendly goblin as well!

Color spray the two hostiles near me and one friendly. DC 16 will save. Effects depend on their HD per the spell.

The loudmouthed goblin's saved by the allied goblin facing him standing between himself and Astella.
Green, Orange, allied archer 1: 3d20 - 1 ⇒ (8, 1, 6) - 1 = 14

All 3 goblins fall KO.
The allied archer still standing steps 5 ft south, and takes aim at the red archer in the west.
Arrow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 2, but the arrow goes wide, flying by not close to the target.

Maybe a miscommunication. I had the map up from the start of combat, and had assumed the slide would have been seen.

@Astella, gravity bow will have expired by this time. 1 min/lvl.
Would you instead like to redirect that shot to one of the archers to the west?

I probably would have just taken a step to the side, but no need to change things. Next turn I will recast gravity bow and then move.

Seska readies her shield and marches forward to engage the others. She is prepared to help or heal the goblins. Can't quite get into thwacking range this round, and apparently I forgot to buy Seska ranged weaponry
