Astella |

Astella moves to get into a better position to continue shooting as part of their "false assault."

Severa Elanariel |

Severa keeps up the illusory assault by her archers!

GM Chyro |

Things and people move, and red goblin shoots an arrow at the barrier southwest.
Arrow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d6 ⇒ 4
The arrow is slightly stuck in the barrier, but dealt no damage to its integrity.

Seska

Sister Seska |

Sorry!
Doing her best to stay behind her shield, Seska takes a flask of oil from a strap holding onto her sash. Holding it in her shield hand, she begins to uncork it and insert the fuse wrapped around the neck of the bottle.
Move action to take out oil, using standard action to begin the full round action to prepare the fuse.

GM Chyro |

Seska preparing a makeshift oil-based molotov cocktail, the fight advances into the next round.
Seska, in regards to your oilotov. Assuming your aim is to toss it over the ramparts, when making the attack roll, also roll a D9 to determine where it lands, in relation to what square you'd like to hit. What with the square not being in a los.
======================================
Round 5
The archers let fly their arrows.
Western archers, soft cover, partial cover, 1 increment: 4d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (9, 18, 12, 10) + 4 - 6 = 474d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 4) = 19
East archers, soft cover, partial cover, 1 increment: 6d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (2, 17, 8, 16, 8, 17) + 4 - 6 = 666d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 3, 5, 6) = 28
Some arrows come close to hitting, and the goblins are saved by the grace of being behind ramparts.

Daniel Cedric |

1d20 + 6 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 - 2 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Daniel will hurl another of his javelins at the goblins before moving back behind the wooden palisade.

GM Chyro |

Daniel will hurl another of his javelins at the goblins before moving back behind the wooden palisade.
You'd be drawing a javelin as a move action. It will keep you at the current position after attacking.
Daniel's javelin hits the goblin where it painfully hurts, the guy leaning slightly forward in injury.
------------------------------------
Blue shoots at Daniel, Cyan at Seska.
Vs Daniel: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 241d6 ⇒ 2
Crit?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23Extra: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
Daniel is dealt a strong serving of pain, as blue's arrow lands in a particularly soft spot.
Vs Seska: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 211d6 ⇒ 3
Cyan hits too, but the wound it leaves Seska is thankfully far less painful.
Purple withdraws from the fighting, vanishing from sight and the wall.

Astella |

Astella shoots at Cyan.

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Crit Damage: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 2) + 4 = 17

GM Chyro |

The shot knocks the dead goblin back a few feet.
Insta-kill.

Severa Elanariel |

Severa yawns a little and keeps up the illusory assault. She mutters "Perhaps I should have chosen a more active tactic..."
Are the goblins still engaging with my illusory archers?

GM Chyro |

Severa yawns a little and keeps up the illusory assault. She mutters "Perhaps I should have chosen a more active tactic..."
Are the goblins still engaging with my illusory archers?
Not as much since Daniel and Seska came into clear lights.

GM Chyro |

With the death of cyan, red takes flight over fight, and flees the scene.
Seska

Sister Seska |

Seeing only one goblin left, Seska doesn't rush to light the oil. She finishes setting the fuse and marches forward. "Go on! Run!" She shouts.
That is a move and a standard (to walk over and finish setting the fuse)

GM Chyro |

"Go on! Run!" She shouts.
Something is shouted back at her.
"You'll get your due, woman!"

Round 6
The western archers let their arrows fly.

Astella shoots at Blue.
Attack (Masterwork Darkwood Composite Longbow): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 2 = 13

Severa Elanariel |

Severa stops concentrating on the archers and throws an explosion of glitter on the densest concentration of goblin archers!
Illusory archers will last one more round after this. Glitterdust, DC 16.

Daniel Cedric |

Daniel will grimace as he pulls the arrow out and drinks a red liquid.
red potion: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

GM Chyro |

Daniel recovers some HP from the berries' potion.
Astella's arrow flies, but bounces off the stone battlement.
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
The goblin's acutely aware that Severa points her hand at him, and he expertly closes his eyes when an explosion of colorful glitter appears on him.
The goblin retreats from battle.
Combat over....for now.
Anything before 'the assault part 2'?

Sister Seska |

Seska regroups with her new teammates. "Anyone hurt?"
If no one else needs healing (looks like they don't), Seska will cast cure light wounds on herself.
CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Severa Elanariel |

Severa shakes her head "I am well for now. How about everyone else?"

Astella |

Good. I hope the other team is doing okay.

Astella |

I'd answer in character, but I don't actually know, sorry.

GM Chyro |

If no one else needs healing (looks like they don't), Seska will cast cure light wounds on herself.
Daniel's at 22/28. But he's a tough guy with decent AC.
As the battle at this section of the wall subsides, the barrier carries quickly pull out/break off the arrows sticking out of it. In response to Seska's question:
"Well hopefully the infiltration team does a good job. Attacking the walls for nothing would've been a waste."
Shortly thereafter, a sneaking shape appears on the wall, looking over the battlements. It is one of the infiltration team. Seeing generally everyone is still up, he gives a short wave, before disappearing from sight. One half of the solid wooden gate opens slowly, and the guy motions for you to quickly come in.
"Quickly, take cover behind the stables.", he points towards an old out-of-use shack with empty stables. It's seen better days for sure. But there is enough space for you to hide, not enough space for all of the archers and barrier carriers though. The gates are left slightly ajar.
"So here's the situation so far. There's several dozens of goblins moving about the fort. Attacking the walls got them up and about, and some loud bang coming from this side got them even more at attention, that sure woke up whoever was still sleeping."
"We passed by a prison on our way out of the keep. Were about three dozen goblin women in there, and supposedly some were taken up to the 1st floor, given two of the cells were empty. We let them out, and man, we didn't need to handle the few guards all by ourselves. They've armed themselves with whatever simple weapons and kitchen equipment they could get their hands on without drawing attention. I've got to get back to inform the others the gates are open. You'll likely hear some signal in the next ten minutes or so. There's going to be quite a ruckus when the townsfolk get through the gates, probably moreso if what the redhead says might happen if the goblin women are out in the open."
"Any quick questions?"
From what layout you got a quick glimpse of, there's a training ground at the center, surrounded by about 2 dozen large tents devided by 2 paths around the training ground. A building that could serve as some storage, a large building of unclear purpose, and a path further towards the keep. But also ruins of other smaller buildings.

Severa Elanariel |

Severa whispers back "Good work. How do you advise us to help next?" She had her own strategic and tactical ideas but this person had the best on-the-ground knowledge of the tactical situation.

GM Chyro |

"Well, it will likely be chaos. This is just speculation of course, but maybe we needn't endanger the townsfolk. The redhead said you interrogated captured goblins, who claim freeing their women could start infighting?"
A moment's pause...
"In any case, leadership is in the keep. The women spoke of a commander riding some flying beast, some 'Commander Tark', and his right and left hands. One's supposedly some sadistic spellcaster, the other some brutish lieutenant with some vicious hounds. I won't go into detail, but let's just say rumor had it the hounds didn't exclusively eat meat from wild game. If you four are up to it, a team each could attack one of Tark's lieutenants, and take things from there on. We'd still probably bump into some troops on our way there, but so far so good."

Sister Seska |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Realizing Daniel is wounded and is just playing the tough guy, Seska scowls and approaches him, gesturing to any of the other barrier carriers who might look hurt, and prays to St. Elaine for a burst of healing energy around the whole group.
Damage Healed: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
As they talk, Seska keeps her mouth shut for the bulk of the conversation. She's not very good at speaking quietly.
She does ask, "Why were the women locked up?"

GM Chyro |

In response to Seska,
"Hmm? Oh, part of the goblin forces are coerced into this, their wives were used as leverage."

Severa Elanariel |

Severa nods to the comment about the goblin women, remembering her plan to do exactly that "Yes let's get the goblin women out first then attack the lieutenants."
That's my vote.

Sister Seska |

Seska nods in agreement as well. So that's why they were so testy. Seksa had no love for the hordes and little regret for fighting them. But no one deserved to be forced into fighting like that. She promises herself to take her frustrations out on the lieutenants.
"Lead the way," she says to the others.
