Heronisus, The 'Paladin' that Hayden met, quickly gathers everyone together in the corner and speaks in hushed tones. Contrary to his normal cheery demeanor, his eyes are now cold and calculating.

"Listen, you are all asking very good questions, but your timing is off. I agree, it is unlikely to be Zig, though that's where my Paladin instincts first led me. But he can't have the skill nor expertise to modify the poison. He's too young.

"Listen, this power play, I've seen it before. It's done by sloppy men who are desperate. But I've learned from experience that if you go off right away you are going to make them realize their mistakes and fix them before you can nail them to the wall. Best bet is to see where all their mistakes lead, gather them all up, and THEN press your advantage. Even if you know who it is, those guys in Skyreach are going to want hard evidence. Want them caught red-handed. I'm going to go do some research tonight. You go get some sleep-NO, I know what you are going to say. But I want you to take over for me in the morning, fresh pair of eyes and all that. I'll leave a not or fill you in by morning. Don't worry, we'll figure out what's going on."

He pets his flying fox familiar that looks as if gets all the conversations.

”Thanks sir! We will take over tomorrow morning! Ehh ... but where do you think we can sleep?!? Khafaash and I are not very picky!“ he says with a sly smile.

Dawn isn't sure what to think of this plan, but plot drowsiness hits her over the head. "Sleep... sounds like a good idea. Maybe we'll have a better plan in the morning."

"Zig can sleep in my room if he needs to be safe. Or in the stables, whereever I'm sleeping."

Sir Hayden nods at Heronisus. "Perhaps a night's sleep would do all of us well to clear our heads. We can reconvene tomorrow morning and share what we know. If the bards are out of danger, then we can let them rest before asking them about the incident."

"Do you know where Zig is? If so, please pass him a message that we believe in him and we will help him sort this out tomorrow. I will pray to the Dawnflower for her protection."

Zig is taken in by the local constabulary for questioning, though he's not under arrest.

Sothkoro suggests that the pathfinders on his team take turns as a watch, since there is someone moving throughout the lodge undetected.

“That is a great idea Sothkoro! I suggest Angela, Dawn and I go into one room and you, Sir Hayden and Golthwur go into the other room. We do 4 hour shifts and essentially sleep 12 hours and the watch is done in alphabetical order!“ he says and scratches his head.

Sylvan?" asks Golthwur smugly, clearly making an effort both to assert his knowledge and to curb the likelihood that he will have to take a turn to stand watch. "Maybe, Giant? Infernal? Vudrani? Shall I go on?"

Xiao junior is clearly out of words.

”Ehh .. you ... ehhh ... Taldane?!“ he asks.

"Angela, Dawn, Xiao junior." She points appropriately. "That's the order for the first room."

"Sir Hayden, and then you, Golthwur." She pauses. "Is that in order? Wouldn't Golthwur go first?"

As everyone except Angela and Golthwur sits down to sleep (I'm assuming Golthwur is up to not interrupt his sleep for spellcasting)it seems like it is going to be a quiet night. However, after about only an hour. both Golthwur and Angela hear a tapping at the window and look out to see a Goblin repelling down from the room and desperatly tapping on the window indicating you should open. When you do, each goblin speaks in hushed tones:

"“Wake up! Wake up! Big men with big knives come for you! Kill you! Wake up!”

Angela and Golthwur each have one round. Everyone else is probably out of their armor and doesn't have their weapons on them . . .and asleep. Slide 5

Golthwur considers the goblin as to whether the creature is telling the truth or some attacker himself.

Dawn dreams of thunderous sheep herding along a world made of metal, melted sand and brick. Where golems are granted lifelike intelligence to the point where the line between life and automata are blurred.

Also Golthwur is punch drunk, naked and declaring him self the Patriarch of Parties and Baron of Boogie-down.

Angela takes a moment to judge the goblin's sincerity.

She gives a nod and then eyeroll as she hears Golthwur next door screaming his face off and making magical sounds. The halfling instead, slides over next to Dawn and Xiao and gives them silent shakes to get them awake. She also wakes up the dog and familiar at the foot of Xiao's bed as she goes. "Get up. There's danger coming. Dawn get your armor on or beg a casting of Mage Armor from Xiao assuming he can give you one." AS the two start getting up and ready, Angela tries to find their weapons to toss to them if need be.

Xioa's flying fox familiar actually vanished the moment his eyes closed.

And the moment the Angela wakes him from his sleep, the little familiar pops back into existence and is sitting on his shoulder.

It is a figment familiar! The +8 skill bonus from the Eidolon evolution works wonders with the duettist bard ability to share versatile performance with the familiar so the flying fox is quite good at reading people and being diplomatic. :-)

"What?!? I ... I was dreaming of my siblings ... " he says dreamily.

"That would have been my preference as well." Golthwur observes, then steps forward and shouts.

The elderly man then attempts to casually move behind one of the beds to obtain some cover.

Hayden blinks his eyes open as he hears the thunderclap. At first he thinks he's back in Tian Xia in the temple of Hei Feng. Nevertheless, the knight rolls to his feet, grabbing his bowstave and a bowstring from there it sat beside his bed. In a smooth practiced motion, he strings it, bending the supple wood firmly before attaching the string. He turns to the doorway, grabbing an arrow from his quiver on the ground.

"You've lost the surprise. Now surrender or you'll die." The tone is almost conversational as he speaks to the blinded men in the doorway, drawing a bead on them.

Sothkoro is awakened by being punched in the face. He rolls out of bed. Move action to not be prone, five foot step He grabs his trident from his pile of gear next to the bed.

Angela clambers over Dawn's bed to her own where she left her longspear propped up against the wall. She grabs it and takes off the knitted cover on it and takes up a defensive position near the entrance to the room as she studies the movements of the man at the door. Finding she might ahve a chance here, she stabs out at the man with her spear.

Move, with a weapon drawing, swift action to study, standard to stab.

Hayden, I think it takes a full action to get out of bed, get your bow and string it. Technically it should take 3 move actions but I’ll be nice. I’m willing to let Angela do her thing because it works if she had her spear on her and there’s no reason she wouldn’t if she was on guard duty, so it is just a bit of flavor that works with the mechanics.

The blinded guys Red and orange stumble around and manage to draw their short swords but not much else.

Blue moves in on Angela (provoking) and attacks.

”Aw, if you was asleep we was just gonna drug ya. Now we have to do wetwork.”

Dawn's snoozing is interrupted, just before it got good, too!

"Wha wha whosits huh wha?" Dawn stands up and climbs out of bed. "Hey Angela, your friends are way too rowdy." She claps her hands and an Aggressive Thundercloud appears on top of one of the brigands. "Shoo!"

It's on top of blue. It will deal 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5) = 9 electric damage. Reflex Save DC 14 for none.

Xioa gets out of bed and is still a little disoriented.

"Do not let these guys get us!" Xiao shouts.

Standard action: Inspire courage +1 to hit and damage. Is audible by every PC through the window and the open doors and has no range so affects all PCs.

Angela takes a swing at the man as he approaches.

The Blue thug manages to avoid the worst of the spell but is stabbed by angela, and looks very weak.

Then, each goblin draws a Javalin from their pack and throws it at an enemy, one at blue, one at the 1/2 orc

The 1/2 orc move around the bed, drawing his dagger as he does, and presses the attack on the Nagaji

With his free hand, Sothkoro casts a spell and then picks up his shield off the ground.

AC is now 16... or 17? Is it reasonable I'd wear my ring of protection? There are 6 Sothkoros, but only 1 real one.

Golthwur casts mage armor upon himself, then sets about retrieving his wand of magic missiles from among his belongings.
Not sure which bed was his, but he will use a move action getting to it or a move action retrieving the wand, if he is already next to his bed.

Hayden warns the blind thugs in the doorway again. "I'm warning you, if you come in this room or the one next door, we will put you down, hard." He turn and fires at the half-orc attacking Sothkoro.

Angela brings her spear up and att he ready bracing it across her body as she does. She then steps back a few inches before risking it and bolting for the other side of the room.

Total defensive for a +6 to her AC and then move risking AoOs but preferable to getting surrounded again.

@GM: On the next saving throw for the thundercloud of the opponents in this round where the dice roll is 13+ Xiao will use misfortune so they have to reroll.

"Are you two still here?" Dawn shrugs and grabs her Adamantine Falchion. "Um, sorry about this." Her blade glows briefly as she swings, hoping to stun rather than kill the ruffian with a Green tunic.

Dawn will spend an Eldritch Pool point to make her blade +2. Then she will attack to subdue.

Meanwhile, her Aggressive Thundercloud continues to harass the thug with Blue boots. It deals 3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6) = 12 damage. Reflex Save DC 14 for none. Xiao Jr says he can force a reroll on this save if they roll high enough.

Inspire courage +1 to hit and damage FOR ALL PLAYERS as this is driven by voice. So use it guys! :-D

Xiao takes his banner and shows it to Angela and Dawn!

Move action: Take flag so he can use Flag bearer feat for +1 morale bonus on attack rolls SO STACKS with inspire for +2 TO HIT AND DAMAGE for Dawn and Angela.

Xiao then jumps on his riding dog!

”All the thugs here down! shouts the Goblin from the girls’ window.

The Half orc sees that attacking the Nagaji will become problematic and tries to tumble away from him to a less problematic target.

Hayden grimaces as the half-orc gets into his face. He tries to move away, but his limp makes him an easy target for the bandit. Once he's able to get some space, he turns and fires on the human thug. "Still some in here!" He calls out to the others.

Provoke from the half-orc, but I think blinded keeps the thug from getting an AOO.

"There it is!" cries Golthwur as he retrieves a wand from amongst his belongings. Springing upright quickly, the wizard winces in pain. He places one hand on his back in an effort to ease an ache in his spine and hip joint, then points the other hand and the wand within it, toward the half-orc. A bolt of magical force flies from the wand and buries itself within the half-orc.

The Sothkori step forward synchronously, and together, they stab at the guy who had punched him twice.

The goons shuffle around a bit and finally come out of blindness at the end of their turn.
