A map! Woooohhhoooo! :D
Yeah, when I read the riddle the scale led me to the map being an answer. I had to google what relief means when thinking of maps but the rest started to match.
But then I realized that Rangi might not have used a map in his whole life. I have his background in my head and tried to think about how he could have figured it out. Then I figured that I will try to solve intermediary steps to aid others in guessing it.
Anywho. a map :D

Thanks for running!
Did we ever come to a conclusion as to how many more we're doing?
If we're doing 8, I will bring another character for the back 4. If we're doing 5, I'll keep Anschluss.

CHronicle looks good. Thanks for running this @GM Muave I enjoyed it a lot. The fight had some absurd moments :D
I will be changing the PC to someone else. With regards to bounties
- B1
- B2
- B3
- B4
- B5
- B6
- B7
- B8
Yeah, the above are the choices. It you can choose whichever you like.
With regards to running all 8, we did not get an answer. Most of us said: Well I don't mind really ;)

Bounties 9 and 10 are also available.
Link because it still annoys the crap out of me that this page is so hard to find.

Thanks for running GM Muave! Had fun and what an incredibly effective dazzle! Chronicle and reporting looks good!

Watery Soup |

Not sure what is happening, but I went ahead and applied some GM credit to Potipher Perkins, so she's level 2 now. Anschluss is "locked" to accept Beginner's Box credit (and will be level 2 when he receives the credit).
I've got two level 1 characters, one is an ancestors oracle that I'm not thrilled with (and may switch to a storm oracle), and a new character (currently a fighter but will be a magus when Secrets of Magic comes out).
---
Separately, I've also got a 4th level champion for whom I'm trying to get 3 Quest credits before he moves out of range.
Would like to play: Q2, Q3, Q11
Would be willing to GM: Q4, Q6, Q12, Q13
I was going to advertise publicly on Cottonseed, but if any of you want to reserve a seat, I'd be happy to play with you.

GM Farol |

Hey WaterySoup,
I would love to play/gm with you on the above list.
I played Q13 so I think that is the only one that I would not be able to participate in.
I played Q3 which might make it a bit easier to GM, but after looking through Q2 I find it way more unique (all those hours spent watching Bruce Lee movies, Dragon Z and could be finally of use :D)
For playing Quest. I have Hopper available to play in 3-6, he 'is lacking' 1 XP to get a full scenario worth. And for lvl 1 I have Rawiri ^^ to try. Or lvl 2 warpriest.

![]() |

I've applied 4xp from beginner box and will be finishing the run later this month which will level Zenith up to 2. I'll be happy to play them if we reboot this before then, but Zenith will be leveling up all the same so it is no big deal and no pressure either way.
As far as further ventures, for the time being I'm going to avoid taking on any new games though it certainly has been a pleasure playing/running with everyone!

GM Farol |

Hey folks,
It seems that Ilmakis is a bit busy (or not writing here). So how about, we play/GM another 4 to make the number round? GM'ing order
- Farol
- Red
- Watery
- Muave
What say you? I can start a bounty mid-next week (as I am on vacation now). Before I commit to anything I just want to hear that you are fine with it.
If Ilmakis pops by he would tag along, otherwise, we can play with a pregen or grab someone new.

"Oh hai. Can someone tell me how to find the Pathfinder Society? I want to be a magus."
Merian is a fighter right now, but the intention is to make her a magus when I get Secrets of Magic.

![]() |

Count me in. I may switch over to my hobgoblin investigator for one of them though - just have to make sure I'm at the right XP. Will be applying BB credit towards Jraal.

![]() |

Sounds good. For simplicity i'm keeping Zenith the same.

![]() |

This is my first time playing Merian, so I'm not sure if there's a general consensus on how to handle Azarketi Hydration.
While you are an amphibious being equally as capable on land as in the water, your body requires you to return to aquatic environments at least once in a 24-hour period. You must submerge in water in order to rehydrate your water-acclimated skin. If you fail to do this, your skin begins to crack and your gills become painful. After the first 24 hours outside of water, you take a –1 status penalty to Fortitude saves. After 48 hours, you struggle to breathe air and begin to suffocate until returned to water.
My preferred proposal would be that Merian buys a barrel and a bunch of water (she has GM credit so she has GP to do things within reason), and she can take a bath every night.

![]() |

Remind me, does the azarketi boon specify on how to handle this within PFS?
I'm pretty sure the solution is on the boon but I do not have the boon to verify

GM Farol |

That is my first game having Azarketi so, there is no consensus just yet :D
On slide 5 I've put a brief map of the terrain. From what I see most of the road passes along the stream. You can use it to submerge during the night times. The last 24 h take you through the mountains, but then you are on the coast.
Having said that, if Merian plans to live basing her plan on that passing the mountains should take 24 hours is a bit bold.
Barrel sounds good, another piece would be to ask the driver if you will pass streams every day, if you will problem should be solved. Otherwise, you would have to carry water for the horses => barrel.

Whoop, there it is!
Use the following guidelines to manage the need for submerging yourself in water listed in the azarketi's hydration ability: If you're in a settlement, or if you're in another area that is on or near water, you can easily find enough water to submerge yourself. If you spend more than a day in another environment, you can either carry along enough water to submerge yourself (30 gallons, which has 6 Bulk), use spells or magic items to generate an appropriate amount of water (such as an aqueous orb or a decanter of endless water), or roll a Survival check to Subsist each day to locate a suitable source of water, with a DC based upon the environment (Core Rulebook 240).
Merian will carry enough water to submerge herself. This would encumber her if she had to carry it, so she'll switch her steel shield out for a buckler.
*whew* 9.3 Bulk, 6 of which is water ... I may have to figure out a different solution if she has to rearrange her stats to be a magus.

![]() |

Nice! That's what I was thinking of.
For this adventure if you ask Zenith nicely you might be able to convince them that the buckets of water are related to how Merian prefers to stargaze at night? Zenith could do up to 5 bulk without being encumbered.

![]() |

Thank you for the offer, but I think it would be better if I figured out a more permanent solution. I think the GM would let me leave the barrel on the wagon, for example.
But part of the reason I'm playing Bounties with experimental characters is to be able to make adjustments before characters get locked in. For instance, I now know Merian has to be STR-based rather than DEX-based. I could also give her more DEX and take the Clumsy penalty - or more WIS to make the Subsist checks more reliably.
Better to figure it out now than in the middle of scenario #2-14! Haha
Edit: hang on, I think I might not be encumbered if the water is stored in a backpack ... looking up rules on that

GM Farol |

Chronicles are here Please download it as I am clearing my google drive frequently.
If you have any pieces of feedback it is always appreciated.

![]() |

Mine looks great, downloaded. Is there a volunteer to go next?
I'll be on vacation next week, so I'd rather not GM. But I will technically have Internet access (and will still be playing in several games, just not GMing) so I could.

![]() |

Got the chronicle, and reporting! Thanks! No feedback other than it was fun, you did great and thanks for running!
I believe I was next up to run. I'll put together something in the next day!
So far we've done:
B1, B3, B4, B7, B8. I personally would prefer to avoid B2 and B6.
Unless no one wants to run B5 (Witche's Winterr Holiday), I'll plan to set that up.

Watery Soup |

I personally would prefer to avoid B2 and B6.
Because of scaling problems, or because of something else? (If it's a scaling problem, what groups would you run it with?)
Would you mind sharing your thoughts (in case I get offers to play in the future)?
Incidentally, since we began, Bounties 9-11 have been released. I haven't played any Bounties outside of this group so they're all new to me, but maybe those would be interesting for the vets?

GM Farol |

Upvoting WaterySoup question, I know B2 and hate it. Is B6 similar? So the enemy too deadly to handle?
I am glad that at least Zenith liked my game, my PC will throw some cow scat at you two jokers :P
From the GM'ing point of view, it was a bit simpler to run B8 than it was B3. The NPC's were introduced before starting the journey and the skill checks seem a bit more natural to the story. I also found the fight to be not bad. The Zombie had plenty of health and hit hard, but it posed no real threat to the team. Overall nice and easy bounty.
I definitely could have worked on the caravan argument a bit more, like introduce it a bit before (when you meet every one), and let the argument through the days with one culmination.
I am not sold on the pictures, I don't think they did anything to the story. I am uncertain whether they did anything to let you imagine the surroundings any better. For me, pictures turn off imagination and turn on perception. Especially that it is hard to find a perfectly matching picture.
Anywho, thanks for participating in this performance of mine, and yeah can't wait for the B5.

GM redeux |

B6 isn't quite as bad, but can be.
Of the other bounties I've played B9 and B10. Both were fun! I start B11 with my normal bounty group next week so haven't played that one yet.
B5 slides are up. I'm re-using the same B1 slides link

Hey, I liked your game! No need for cow dung.
But Merian would be glad to lecture your character on the environmental impacts of all the agricultural waste runoff that you overlanders just dump into the ocean as if it magically disappears.

I'm okay with that, but I'd like to keep everything on my characters at a multiple of 4, so I'll be bowing out after 8 (we're currently starting 6) unless we commit to 12. I know others are less bothered by odd XP so they can speak for themselves. I'm also okay giving up my second GM slot or Mauve giving up theirs.
If there are players for a 9th game, I'm happy to stay on and co-GM with you to help you through your first experience. I'm also happy to do that for you outside this circle as well, it's a general offer. So plenty of options, and Bounties are pretty low commitment so unless there's a multi-Bounty pact, it doesn't need to be plotted out in detail.

Farol |

I'm okay with that, but I'd like to keep everything on my characters at a multiple of 4...
I knew it! 4 Cow dungs for you then! :P
This party is contracted to end at the mark of 8. We can revisit it at that point, but I don't want people to fall into the trap: it is just 1 more. The bounties are released as we play, so there will be more bounties to play.
I personally don't mind doing it till the end of time, as I like playing bounties - I like the content (I am not hunting here for XP or gold here).
So I would suggest if UncleFroggy wants to join someone needs to pass their place as a GM to him. Otherwise, we can just simply announce a bounty in Cottonseed and help the GM. There will be no problem filling the table, there seems to be plenty of low lvl players there.
p.s.
I deactivated some old players in the gameplay to keep it actual, It is Gm redeux, Jraal, Merian, Ilmakis (for him to see the thread).
