Aeshuura |
Baldrick swings his hammer, thudding against the bear's side! -6 hp for Bear!
Oop, just saw Lumen's action...
There is a resounding gong as Lumen calls upon Lathander...
Wis save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
... but the bear shrugs it off, baring its teeth and showcasing the black crystal coating them!

Vicious Mockery Will save DC 13 or take Psychic damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 and disadvantage on next attack
Aeshuura |

Baldrick Longhall |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Baldrick, remember that if you don't have a shield, you can use your warhammer two handed... 1d10 damage. For future reference...
Oh right - I forgot to correct that on my character sheet. I think at some point I thought he had a shield, but it turns out he's not proficient.
Rodalas Windrace |
Catching up, had a summer school meeting this AM and had to add 60 kids to my summer school class lists, lol
Rodalas Windrace |
Seeing that the bear is still up and that it now poses the greater threat, he lets loose another arrow
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
I dont think that hits.
Aeshuura |
Sadly, no.
Rodalas draws a bead at the bear this time, but a gust of wind comes out of nowhere and forces the arrow out of its trajectory!

Khitt |
Seeing the bear talk and threatening the others, Khitt signals to Khat and the leopard lopes forward quickly closing ground.
Bow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Piercing: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
I believe I can use my bonus action to have her attack but she technically moves after me so I have to wait for next turn. I need to confirm that with the new pet action rules in Tashas.
Aeshuura |
Netzer charges the bear, swinging his axe with great abandon! The creature swats it aside, harmlessly, but turns to find an arrow embed itself in its side! - 10 hp for the bear!
Initiative Round 2
Bad guys -> Netzer -> Khitt -> Baldrick -> Umikh -> Rodney / Lumen -> Rodalas
Brown Bear -24 hp
Wolf (Red) -8 hp Asleep

Umikh Ironbender |
My post got eaten! But this roll is better, might actually hit?
Battleaxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Anchoring himself better, Umikh swings again at the bear, this time looking like a real warrior.
Aeshuura |
Umikh swings hard, with better leverage, tearing a gash in the side of the bear! Bear takes 6 hp! The bear is looking ROUGH. Khat want to make an attack before we start round 2?
Khitt |
after checking the rules, the pet moves during my turn so Khat indeed attack this round using my bonus action. Also since she moved more than 20ft before the attack, she will use her charge ability.
Charging Khat: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (8) + (4) + 4 = 16
the bear will also need to make a DC 12 STR save or be knocked prone.
Aeshuura |
No need, the bear is dead!
Khat slashes at the already battered and bleeding bear, taking it down!
You have some time to finish off the remaining wolves and though you hear sounds in the distance over the howling wind, it seems you have a little bit of a reprieve... You may tend to wounds, use potions, but you do not have enough time for a short rest. On Monday, I will roll initiative again, and you will enter wave 2!
Baldrick Longhall |
Assuming their teeth are black, Baldrick would like a bear canine tooth
@Umikh: I think Lumen and Rodney have some healing spells, but it might be better to use the potion since there's a bit of time.
Aeshuura |
As Baldrick takes a tooth, he find that it is coated with that black ice, the Chardalyn, that they encountered at the gnoll tent, near Redwaters... The same with the wolves...
Aeshuura |
Rodlas will attempt to end as many of the wolves as he can, with a piercing of the skull.
You all can dispatch the sleeping wolves with little difficulty...
Aeshuura |
The sounds of battle from Easthaven's front line start to die down, leaving you with the howling of the winds across the lake... The wait is nerve wracking, with no idea how long you must wait for the next wave.
Minutes later the night is shattered by a resounding horn, and the second wave is visible on the horizon! As the enemy passes the fortification of Caer-Konig, you hear bestial screams as the dwarven sharpshooters take down many of the flying enemies!
Baldrick 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Khitt 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Lumen 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Netzer 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Rodalas 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Rodney 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Umikh 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Reset to original positions?
Umikh Ironbender |
Dumb question time....can we each use each of those Friendship Has Its Benefits? Or as a group we get the 4 options, anyone of us which can use them? I haz the lack of caffeine right now, brain out of fizz.
As for positioning, Umikh is happy with his friend the boulder and will stick to it.
Rodalas Windrace |
Seeing a new host of foes descending on them, the eladrin knocks an arrow of his shortbow and lets it fly, aiming at the polar bear.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 short bow
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 arrow
Aeshuura |
@Rodalas, remember that as an Assassin, since they have not gone yet, you have advantage, and so sneak damage right now.
EDIT: Oh wait, you may be waiting for them to come close enough, in which case they would have acted already. Otherwise, you are firing beyond close range, in which case, the advantage cancels the disadvantage. Jimney Christmas... Haha, never mind. ^_^
Aeshuura |
Rodalas, in true Elvish fashion, looses an arrow at a target that should be out of range, but lands a hit on the polar bear! -7 hp for Polar Bear!
Baldrick readies a swing, his hammer on his shoulder! Ready firebolt for the swarm! fire bolt: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 1
All of the beasts swarm after you! The owl, however, plies up by Lumen!

Umikh Ironbender |
Rodalas, hit these dang birds!
Battleaxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Umikh sidles up to the huge bear and smashes into his hip, hoping to bring this large foe down quickly.
Not a called shot, just thinking where on a polar bear a dwarf's axe would hit!
Rodney Lash |
"Hopefully you were not putting me in with that caster lot. I have nothing for swarms." Rodney replies to Rodlas
Calling out to the bear. "Aren't you supposed to be spread out in front of a fire place somewhere?"
Vicious Mockery Wis save DC 13 or take psychic damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
Aeshuura |
Rodney taunts the bear... Wis save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 -3 hp and disadv on next attack! the bear winces, but has decided his next target!
Umikh moves in on the bear and hacks into its side, barely eliciting a response... -6 hp for the polar bear!

Lumen Oakleaf |
"I have a giant owl here that has other ideas so I could use some help," Lumen says slightly panicked that the creature flew at him.
"How do your keen senses like this," he says as he casts another spell before moving towards the front line to be closer to his melee companions.
Wisdom DC13 to avoid
Toll the Dead (necrotic damage): 1d8 ⇒ 2
Khitt |
Seeing Lumen in danger, Khitt signals for to Khat who runs off to help. He then lines up his shot on the large bird.
Khat moves up in attack range and uses the dodge action but Khitt uses his bonus action to allow Khat to attack. Also using his own action to shoot. If he hits, he will use a favored enemy use.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Piercing+Favored: 1d6 + 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (6) + (2) + 3 = 11
Khat Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Slashing+Charge: 1d8 + 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + (1) + 5 = 10
Khat tumbles after tripping on a slick patch and clumsily runs up to Lumen and the owl.
Aeshuura |
Khitt feathers an arrow right into the snowy owl, causing it to dip in the sky! Giant owl takes 11 hp!
It is moot because the owl is 15 feet in the air, so was Khat going to wait for the owl to dip lower?
Lumen calls upon Lathander's darkest cantrip, a resounding gong breaks the howling wind around the owl! Since Khatt moves before Lumen in initiative, the owl is now damaged! 1d12 ⇒ 1 Damn, I was hoping that I could get you a little more damage...

Botting Netzer...
Nezter, being swarmed by ravens, swings hard with his greataxe!
Greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
It is a fierce swing, but the ravens scatter to avoid being swept away!

Entering round 2, Rodalas and Baldrick are up! Everyone can post, if they want and I will adjudicate, or you can wait until the baddies move and decide then.
Rodalas Windrace |
The eladrin lets lose another arrow at the polar bear, now that it is distracted by a dwarf
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 arrow
2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 damage of the sneak attack type :)
Aeshuura |

[ooc] Are these animals similar to the ones that we found with the Walrus or something else? [.ooc]
Khitt |
- The baddies are before me.
Bonus Action- Ensaring Strike
Khitt whispers a blessing over his bow as he pulls an arrow from his quiver and then let’s it fly at the Giant Owl.
Ensaring Strike: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Piercing: 1d6 + 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + (2) + 5 = 10
DC 12 STR Save or be restrained +1d6 additional damage at the start of its turn. I believe the restrained condition would make the owl fall to the ground where Khat could get ahold of him. The owl would have advantage I believe however since it is large.
Khat stalks the owl from the ground waiting for her moment to strike. dodge action
Aeshuura |
@Rodalas, they are similar in that they seem to have been 'awakened', however they are much more militant and all have tooth, claw, and beak coated with that black crystalline chardalyn...
Baldrick swings again! With three quick flashes, several ravens fall dead on the white snow! magic missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) + 3 = 11 force damage. (Baldrick: 1st - 3/4, 2nd - 2/3)
The giant owl, focusing on her assailant, flies directly at Khitt! Talons: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Khitt takes 8 hp slashing damage! The owl flies up and high into the air!
The ravens on Baldrick (Red) swarm the sorcerer, but their reduced numbers limit their effectiveness! beaks & talon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 The sorcerer's armor holds against the assault!
The ravens on Nezter swarm the battlerager! beaks & talon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Netzer takes 7 piercing damage!
The polar bear, ignoring all other threats, charges right at Rodalas! Umikh and Netzer may take an attack of opportunity!

Aeshuura |
That is what we are waiting on. Netzer and Umikh have AoOs to take. It is possible, however unlikely, that it will be dead by the time it gets to you...
Aeshuura |
I can take Netzer's action for the Attack of Opportunity, but he will have to roll an attack again for this round. But still need Umikh's...
On instinct alone, Netzer lashes out, carving a red line along the polar bear's side with his wide blade! -6 hp for the polar bear!
