I could swap out the shortsword for a kukri and go down the critical feat path. Really considering that.
Something to look forward to:
At 11th level, the attack penalties for fighting with two weapons are reduced by –1 for a two-weapon warrior. Alternatively, he may use a one-handed weapon in his off-hand, treating it as if it were a light weapon with the normal light weapon penalties.

            Fair enough. Enchantment.
Yeah, so these elves originated in the Kyonin forests and enjoy travel and exploring. How they work in with these misfits is a challenge that I believe will be worked out by finding a mutual desire to accomplish the same thing. My first thought was they were hired to gather information on Marinelli and would grow to dislike him as much as Persephone does.
Open to any suggestions.

But seriously: Big backstories are highly overrated. At least when it comes to joining a party. My favorite elf was just visiting a tavern to sell some hunted hares for silver and meet with an old friend.
Then she offered her services, when an expedition was discussed at the next table.
One easy thing would be to visit the House of Flame. It's a temple to THE elven goddes. You could simply visit the pig's whistle. Marinelli could do something to hurt elven woods. Like cutting down trees for timber. Or some trapper sets traps in the elven woods and has caught someones familiar (haven't seen which one you have) to sell as a pet, via Marinelli. At least if its a rare animal. There are plenty of ways to be there to meet. It is a bit harder to come up with a reason to join the case, but we'll manage. Just take something simple enough, that we don't trip over it later.

LOL. I do now.
The familiar is always well protected and close by. I think they would visit the pig's whistle as a way to get learn about the town. They are not into royalty and high religion at this point.

A bit about alignment. As Persephone would eventually end up evil - as casting evil spells does that by rule. I might need to houserule that differently, but I'm not sure yet, I see her more neutral.
But a few words about my understanding of it.
You do <alignment> because you want to and you oppose the opposing alignment. So, you're good, because you like to do good deeds and believe it is the right thing to do. You think evil is wrong. You do law(ful) deeds, because you like the law and think it should be enforced. If you don't give a s+&! one way or the other, you're neutral.
You chose chaotic. This means in my world, that you despise the law. You might still stick to it, because you can't do anything against the ones enforcing it. But if you could get away with it, you'd trip a guard chasing a thief just because.
A neutral person could do good things to people they like and evil things to people they don't. Or might be honest to one and steal from another. If you choose an alignment that is not neutral, you go out of your way to do good/evil/lawful/chaotic stuff.
In game it has almost no consequences, but I'd like to have some backstory reason if it is not neutral.

I picked up on the darkness in Persephone. Rapscallion could be quite a bit of trouble as well. I went neutral to get aligned with them. Elves tend to be CG, so we had some things in our past that shifted us. I see alignment exactly the way you do and P going evil....We shall see.

Why would dusk elves who live in the woods and like the night be in town? Your brother was eaten by a were-leopard?
The pigs whistle of course offers itself to be there for no specific reason. But your characters look too rich already for the job board. And without asking some questions you won't be pointed to F and P.
Some random robbery of a burial place (I'm not familiar with elf traditions there) and a search for a stolen family heirloom (a ring or so) might prove useful to get a quick setup, without long term obligations.

            Meanwhile at The Pig's Whistle
Would be the description of the scene change. The pigs whistle has the entrance with direct view to the bar at the opposing wall. The left end of the bar is lined up with the left of the door and goes to the right wall. Left of that is the door leading to the kitchen behind. Maybe one table to the right in front of the bar. The rest of the tables is to the left, as is the piano, where the larger part of this taproom.
Also right is the door to the stairs up to the rooms for rent. Feel free to enter.

Even found an image of the two weapon fighter elf with two elven curve blades. Did not help the fact that I missed it was a two handed weapon. LOL. And, the reason the PC is a female. Put it on the slide for you entertainment.

That archetype might be fun for a strength based fighter. Will have to locate that. I have a build almost identical to Arawyn at level 8. The rapier is just to get all the other pluses in play, so d6 v d10 is no biggie.

Found it. But it's no fighter, but a barbarian archetype, Titan Mauler
But a -2 on attacks is a high price for some more damage. Sadly the archetype is not compatible with Urban Barbarian.

I think your story is one step short of connecting with Persephone's. How about you meet with the priest of your choice to get the missing piece?
Because without it, there is no reason to tell you about their vendetta.
And the city is mostly safe. Menan could do that visit alone and come back later, if Arawyn doesn't want to quit already. ;)

Mythic is so powerful. Have you ever played mythic characters? I am locally running a party through Kingmaker with mythic tier=character level. Current is 10/10. They go up against stuff that I think is tpk and the battle is over in 2-3 rounds and typically the party takes no damage. I am not using mythic that well either as I only delve into it when non mythic does not look so good. I am reading through their character sheets when I have the time to pick up on all the stuff they can do. That is a great deal to keep up with in yer head.
Really like pc_generator (spelled wrong on purpose) but you gotta check it. Elves treat weapons with the word elven as martial but as an elven fighter I am not proficient with the curve blade? I disagree with the generator on that one. And it checks me and finds stuff I would have missed. A good combo, but on my last group that made it to level 20 I generated some pretty cool spreadsheets that took all of the wild stuff and put it in your face.
In gameplay here I think we got off to a good enough start in that we know each other at this point and have a "meeting place."
Not sure where this is headed and how so. I picked up on a few hints. Keep it to yourself. I never read the pdfs for games I play :-) The Variels could end up doing about anything imo.

There are no pdfs for this game, so...
Mythic is overpowered. And doing it class level = mythic tier is abuse. I've played it in Wrath of the Righteous, the original adventure that introduced the mythic stuff. Its nice, especially the feats. But only as long as you don't bring mythic monsters. Then you have epic (read long) battles that leave burnt land.

You are seven hours ahead of me. Works just fine imo. Schedule is crazy on/off right now and will be mostly on until year end and then some. I should always be able to post at least once a day regardless of what is going on. Used to take long weekend journeys down a river with multiple boats and no Internet/cell signal for days at a time. Believe those days are over.

I can see Menan saving Persephone from going to evil. He has disavowed necromancy and while no longer good but neutral, he still hates evil. That hatred and knowledge of how great it is on Golarion drove him neutral. She seems very free willed and difficult to influence. We shall see.

In some other games I placed a magic shop. But they are mostly higher level. I don't think it makes sense to have a magic shop in the classical sense in this little harbor town. there are divine scrolls and potions you can buy at the temples. There might be some scholar who also sells arcane scrolls, but I don't think a shopfront would make sense. with no real market for a large amount of items to change hands.

Well, looks like I get to investigate Persephone's truly evil act. How she is neutral at this point, idk. Forcing your step mother to kill your step brother. Whew. Should be interesting. I plan to do a thorough job on this investigation.

There are different sorts of firearms. Modern firearms are ridiculous to have in a dungeons and dragons world. But generally I'd say firearms are weak. They are better than crossbows but not as good as bows, at you need to reload them. Ammunition is expensive and hard to come by.
I have only one game where someone actually uses a gun. It's an arcanist with a very special gun that never misfires and has a magically endless supply of cartridges (reloading still required). It has a nice flavor as it matches the character, but besides being extra loud it is just another weapon.

I get the feeling you don't have the time to read all the posts carefully. That's fine, if it doesn't concern Menan, but it leads to a serious issue when my in game reality and your in game reality drift apart.
After their morning routines the Variel party heads to town. Arawyn heads to the market and Menan appears at the Temple of Abadar again.
"I am here to see Officer Kasadei. Is she available?"
Approaching the temple and seeing that nice follower of Abadar in shiny armor, he remembers, that the officer is found at the city watch, near the main gate of town.
Once there he is sent in to Kasadei's office by the guard he met yesterday.
...
Menan exits the temple and locates Arawyn who is interested in the Pig's Whistle again.
...
Maybe I wasn't clear. But the temple is in the middle of town and the city guard is at the road from the temple to the city wall, close to the gate.
