The monolith is depicted on Slide 6. It stands roughly three feet tall and covered in cyclops runes crackles with arcing flames. The fires surrounding the monolith occasionally arc out and “crawl” away, slowly simmering until they come into contact with a draconic skull which begins shuddering and snapping to strange, fiery life.

It needs to be deactivated or destroyed.

I will leave it a bit open-ended for now.

Vasvax looks from Petro, to the others, and back at the monolith. He scowls at the twisting anarchic letters, and the way they seem to extend out to spawn living flame creatures.

"So this wouldn't work then?" he asks, before bringing his warhammer down in a brutal angled blow, aiming to chip or crack the glyphs embedded in the stonework.

Shenzen holds out one hand to forestall Markwin's assault upon the monolith.

"Please. Allow me to examine it and see if I can deactivate it before we resort to such barbaric measures," he says, though you note his psychic hammer is still in hand.

He approaches and circles the monolith thoughtfully, stroking his long beard.

"yess...yes...I see...very interesting," he says before starting to fiddle with it.

Shenzen manages to turn off the runes magically, but not before Markwin carves the phrase "MARKWIN WUZ HERE" into the priceless archaeological find of the century.

When the Pathfinders return to the Mishkar area, they find that the fires have burned out. Although the tensions between the centaurs, goblins, and people of Mishkar remain high, the centaurs are willing to concede that the fire was not the goblins’s fault and call off their feud.

Dolok Darkfur addresses the Dragonskulls, offering them his continued protection if they wish to make the journey to Sarkoris. Many of the goblins join the Farheaven’s caravan, where they can more readily enjoy the god’s protection. The goblins hold a joyful celebration before leaving Mishkar, enjoying the prospect of life without threats from humans or centaurs for the first time in any of their memories.

Several of these goblins choose a different path, instead expressing interest in joining the Pathfinder Society.

Goblins are a core race in PF2.

Dirgel hugs all of her team-mates and dances around the monolith merrily for a minute before getting very, very close and examining the whole thing very carefully, "What is it, do you think?"

No knowledge from Gorvy/Dirgel but I am interested.

When they return to the settlement, Dirgel disappears for a moment and Gorvy returns. He looks sheepishly around the group, "Sorry about Dirgel. She's very... enthusiastic." The young man proceeds, now that the action is over, to interview everyone he can and makes extensive notes to take back to the society.

The monolith is not attached to anything at the bottom (e.g., connected underground to other monoliths) and can be carried.

The archivists at the Grand Lodge do wonder whether there are more of these things out in the expanses of the Findahar Forest ...
