What his birth name was, Paemil never knew. For as long as he could remember, he has been part of an old world Druid grove in the northern reaches of the Verduran Wood.

When he was just 4 months old, a large band of Redcaps overran a logging settlement just south of the Fog Peaks. The Druids responded as quickly as they could, but by the time the redcaps were driven back the clearing lay in embers with no survivors, save one.

An Elven druid heard his small cries, and found Paemil clutched in his mothers arms, her body shelieding him from harm. Emrys couldn’t bear to leave the child, instead taking him back to the circle to be raised in the Druid community.

Growing up among the Elves proved difficult. Paemil grew much faster than the other young druids (primarily Elves and Gnomes) in his circle. Earning responsibility and respect proved difficult among the longer lived races and despite his adept skills in the lore of the Druids. Several years passed and Paemil grew older and older- feeling as though he was wasting his prime years.

Finally, after years of petition, the Druids finally allowed Paemil to take the Druid rites… under one condition. That he leave the circle to avoid potential unrest with his fellow students- many of whom had waited 50 years and not been initiated. After taking the oaths and rites he left the circle, seeking his own way of bringing light into the world.
