It is not fair to ask the GM to decide on the sexual orientation of every unnamed NPC.

With a great leap onto the rocks with trails of smoke from his ancient Dragon armor, Renard lovingly send his blade whipping across to the caster's throat.

The enemy caster wears fullplate armor and carries a bastard sword. He is seemingly a cleric of some sort. Doesn't say which deity. Geb himself, maybe, if he is Mythic?

So Jair catching him with a Will save spell is even more impressive.

The Hellhound attacks Renard as he moves.

The Ancient Gebbite Battle Cleric falls under a hail of blows.

His tactics are rather poor, opening with weak summons instead of his more powerful offensive spells.
His build is not PF legal (nor even 3.5 I think), with Spell Immunity against Dispel Magic, a no-SR spell.
The warriors had (3.5 Toughness) x2 in their feats.
This was not a CR13 challenge by any means... moving on...

The ten warriors each had a Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds as well as some mundane equipment.

The cleric had a scroll tube with 3 scrolls inside. Lasaraleen has Read Magic prepared and can tell that these scrolls are Flame Strike, Ice Storm, and Raise Dead.

The cleric also has a Cloak of Resistance +1, +1 Light Fortification Full Plate, Gauntlets of Ogre Power, +1 Heavy Steel Shield, Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend, Ring of Protection +1, +1 Bastard Sword, and a Periapt of Wisdom +2.
On the Chronicle sheet the 3.5 items are replaced by their PF equivalents, but for the duration of the scenario you can use them as they are, I suppose.

The many other soldiers remain in stasis.

Do you do anything here, or continue on the road?

Chandu wants to spend some time examining the warriors and their stasis fields, in particular are any of those fields likely to collapse any time soon.

Take 20 on whatever knowledge check applies using Lore Master for a 34 if it is arcana, 30 for anything else.

Chandu can tell that these soldiers are held in stasis, that it is unlikely to collapse anytime soon, and that she will be completely unable to free them from their condition no matter what she tries. Each one radiates an aura of strong necromantic magic.

Although there is no light here, other than what you bring, you can estimate that you walked for about three hours. And it was late afternoon when you got to Rijana's camp and activated the stele, so it is probably about 8 pm now.

Do you wish to make camp so that Jair can prepare her spell?
Or press on?

@Jair - what is your time of spell preparation? Dusk, dawn, midnight, noon? Some other time? Note that if it is midnight, any spells cast in the 4 pm-midnight window do count against how many spells you can prepare. If dusk, then we will assume you did it on the road and it would be the next day before you can prepare spells again.

Keeping watch is possible but you won't be able to see very far and other things will be able to see you more easily.

I'm ready! says Jair before adding even if we are already doomed.

Yeah, you guys are powering through this easily enough that I don't think you need to rest... aside from maybe how long you've been awake.
But there's a big error in that regard. It's supposed to be that time moves four times faster here, so a 2-day journey in Golarion is only 12 hours here to get back from the campsite to this plane's version of Geb's Rest. But that original 2-day journey would have been only 16 hours of travel, not 48, and so this trip should be only 4 hours...

After about another hour down the road, you come to a sight.

Geb’s Rest lies ahead, but a very different town from the Geb’s Rest on the material plane.

This version is the shining, new example of what the town looked like before—every building whole and brightly painted, the streets made of packed dirt and well-lit by giant lanterns, and giant, leafy-green trees lining every avenue.
Much like the soldiers in stasis, time seems to have stood still for this town for the thousands of years since it was first built.
In the middle of the town, surrounding the fountain, are dozens of enormous cages, thirty feet on each side, and packed full with hundreds of dirty human figures.

The map scale is supposed to be one square is 10', but that would make it very hard to use in PbP. We will use one square is 5', and the cages can be 15' on a side instead of 30'. Hard enough to fit even one dozen cages around the fountain in the map they give me, let alone multiple dozens...

A small squad of the ancient human soldiers are in front of you, watching something at the fountain. Beyond them you can see the heads of two towering Bone Devils.

Between the soldiers' feet you can see, on the ground around the fountain, the corpses of six humans.

One of the Bone Devils holds aloft a book and shouts something.

Infernal:
"Bring me another!"

A zombie warrior moves to one of the cages, opens the door, and pulls out a screaming human.
"No!" the human shouts in modern Common, "Let me go!"
Between his attire and his accent, he seems to be a modern Gebbite.

The zombie starts dragging him towards the fountain.

The enemy forces are all focused on the Bone Devil and whatever he is attempting to do - they do not see you (yet).

"Send us in." Renard replies grimly upon seeing the scene.

@Lasaraleen - yes, you had rested. Also, I would think it would be faster and more elegant to make one CL check and compare it to the SR of all targets within the area, but on some digging I see that the way you did it is correct.

The enemy forces are startled by the heroes' appearance. Lasaraleen casts her spell.

It utterly fails to affect the Bone Devils, who mock her in Common.
"There is no Dawnflower here, mortal wretch!"

While there is no sun, there are lanterns keeping the town well-lit.

The Bone Devils' allies are not as fortunate. DC 19, I see.

Brown: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Purple: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Green: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Grey: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Blue: 1d20 ⇒ 10

All of them are seared and blinded by the Holy Smite. The human warriors in particular seem to be on their last legs.

Note that Jair drew her wand in the surprise round so will not get to use it until her turn comes around.

Round 1 - Haste is active
Chandu
Renard

Zombies (Brown -24 and blinded; Orange -24 and blinded)
Bone Devils
Warriors (Purple/Green/Grey/Blue -24 and blinded)
Lasaraleen
Jair
Ignatius (Smote and readied)

Chandu calls out, Take heart friends, we shall prevail against the forces of Hell!

She then quickly casts a spell and readies her spear against the charge of the enemy.

Move action to inspire courage for +2/2. Standard to cast glitterdust hitting the bone devils and two of the enemy. DC17 will save or blinded with a new save at the end of their turns. It has no SR and, more importantly, prevents people going invisible. Swift action to activate arcane strike. I will put OA's in a spoiler below.

OAs:

Orange Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Both Bone Devils resist the Glitterdust, as does one of the zombies (which is already Blinded from Holy Smite). One zombie gets glitter in his eyes and is now doubly blinded.

@Renard, since Jair's turn isn't up yet, do you wish to wait until she can Dimension Door you into combat?

Yes. Renard waits with weapon drawn.

Three zombies move towards the party.
Chandu spears one, but misses with her second strike. The third does not quite move enough to provoke an AOO (moves into, not out of, a threatened square).
Red at -23.

Ingatius's readied action triggers; he takes a 5' step and attacks a zombie.

If I'm off a bit with those numbers, it's probably not a big deal. Red is dead by quite a bit.
The paladin of Sarenrae finishes the injured zombie.

The two blinded zombies do nothing. The one that was only blinded by Holy Smite regains his vision.
Orange Zombie will vs Glitterdust: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 The other one remain blinded.

The human warrior who still has his sight moves towards the party, provoking Chandu's third AOO; she spears him through the chest and he falls. The others do nothing, and then regain their sight.

Both Bone Devils Teleport into combat and activate their fear auras. Visions of Hell assault your senses, and a deep sense of fear permeates your soul.

In your head, the fiendish voices echo.

Chandu takes a step and strikes repeatedly at the left bone devil (black border).

I am going to activate the Martyrs Shard boon from Solstice Scar B. This is a free action which makes my weapons +1 and good aligned for 1 minute. I maintain inspire as a free action, swift for arcane strike and then full attack. Also note Renard may be immune to poison if he took up my offer of the delay poison buff and provided an extend rod.

Wow such a rough day for Renard. Even Improved Iron will won't save him with those rolls.

Renard runs.

Which means I'm out of combat for now.

It is an off-balance swing as Ignatius has to redirect his attention to the teleporting devils, but thanks to Chandu's inspiration, the paladin manages to hit and finish off the wounded one.

He then turns to the other, and nearly cleaves it in twain with is scimitar.
Red at -89.

Lasaraleen and Jair are up!
