Trying to level up a playtest class when the official rules don't come out for your class for a few more months is hard.
Wan gets a new class ability called Reconfigure. With a day's worth of downtime, Wan can change the resistance of Proto over to some other type (i.e. acid/electricity resistance to DR fire/cold or DR evil or something else). Wan is now an expert in Crafting. He also took a cool feat called Planned Prescience - with one minute of searching through Proto, Wan can "come up" with a piece of non-magical mundane equipment up to my own level that he had not previously purchased. I then need to purchase it, but I have it as if I had thought to procure it earlier. I can only do that once after each time I have the opportunity to go shopping.

Would people be upset, (either IC or OOC), if Mazul returned the thieves' guild members' gear to them? It'd be 47gp of value gone, but she wouldn't like the idea of stealing from people who are actually alive.

Wan would LOVE the striking rune on the pick. It would mean that he would get 4 dice of damage on his khakkara if he hits in association with his new feat (megaton strike).
I'm not sure how the runes work. Is it just like something you take out of an item and place on another? Also, I think someone asked for the +1 from the pick. Is that the one you mean?

I'm tentatively claiming the Ventriloquist's Ring. It's not amazing, but the +1 Deception will help with Feinting. Otherwise I'm good.
Echoing Orgun about not being sure how runes work though. Assuming we have enough gold, would it be possible for Mazul to buy a striking rune for her rapier?

Of note, I claimed the striking rune from the pick. Because it's a +1 weapon, there's also a potency rune there to be claimed.

Wan has spent some of his funds to place the striking rune on his khakkara. If he wins the roll off with Orgun, he’ll also place the armor rune on Proto.
He will also pick up 2 more of those ghost bane vials before heading back down from town.

I'll just go ahead and claim the armor rune. I've spent the 16gp to get it etched onto my suit of mail. I've also paid the 3.5gp to etch the striking rune onto the khakkara. Lastly, I spent 20gp and purchased two moderate ghost charges.

+1 striking blade (the Cooperative blade) is no joke. That's a +1 to to hit, but TWO weapon dice in damage.
In other words, that's 2d8 base damage for that longsword even before adding your bonuses.
The aid thing is ok because aid is NOT the usefulness that it once was in 2e.

Just a note for housekeeping: if Neo acquires the unstable trait during a combat, Wan will refuse to move forward to explore further until he's been given 10 minutes to clear the unstable quality from Wan (it doesn't require a roll).
I just don't want to be moved along until I've had a chance to do so. If, of course, something breaks out that wouldn't allow Wan the chance, he'll have to manage, but I need to be clear of what Wan would do so as to make sure that it isn't missed.

Additionally, I'll spend 7.5gp to transfer the ghost touch rune from that whip to Wan's khakkara. That means he's now wielding a +1 striking ghost touch rune. I wanted to make sure that those runes were all good, and because both the potency (+1) and striking runes are fundamental runes, I can apply the property (ghost touch) rune without worry.
Additionally, I re-read the playtest rules on my armor and realised that I had it wrong on my character sheet. Neo gives Wan a +4 AC bonus (I had it as +3) and a 5 foot movement penalty (I hadn't accounted for that). I guess those two errors cancel out, but I've changed my character sheet to reflect it. I'm sure that they'll be more changes when the Guns and Gears resource book drops next month!

6th level Wan!
There are some new things in Guns and Gears (apart from the actual rules on how to play an Inventor), and with the GM's permission, I'm swapping out my free Archetype because one of those things (see the class feat below) is EXACTLY what I wanted for Wan (it just didn't exist at 5th level). So, Mazul, that talisman that Wan gave you is no longer in existence (as is the talisman that Wan had), because Wan is no longer a Talisman Dabbler.
New Alternate Free Archetype Dedication: Mauler
New Alternate Free Archetype Feats (4th and 6th lvls, respectively): Knockdown; Clear the Way
Additionally, because the Mauler dedication doubles up on the Ancestral Feat that Wan took at 5th level, he's taking a different ancestral feat
Alternate Ancestral Feat: Eat Fortune ("Beware, witches! Wan is a Jinx Eater!")
Class Feat: Gadget Specialist
(*now Wan gets three formulae for two gadgets that he can prepare on a daily basis)
Skill Feat: Underwater Marauder

Wan isn't the most 'impress a crowd' kind of person. His best score for that would be Athletics (+12). I'm happy to defer to Mazul if Mazul has something better.
