I am playing a mesmerist in this path. Any thoughts on witch way to go with him? Was trying for CC in combat and Diplo monkey outside of it.

I might consider asking this in the advice thread. I'm planning to GM this, so I don't want to spoil the game/give an unfair advantage, but there are basically 3 ways to go with a mesmerist that I have seen, any of which would work in this adventure path.
1)All charisma all the time: Mesmerist Caster. One of the options is to just pump charisma, get yourself some pages of spell knowledge and runes of power, and just rely on your spells. It'll be tough at early levels because you only have a few spells/day and you progress slower than full casters, but you can make up for it by using Mesmerist tricks to buff, and touch treatments to do debuff-removal
2) Dex and Charisma: Mesmerist archer: Not something a lot of people go in for, but halflings (and I think one Tiefling race) get bonuses to dex and charisma, and you can build a decent archery build. Stare at people, and then shoot them and use your painful stare to do a good chunk of damage (there's a new feat in Occult Origins that ups your stare damage eventually.) Also good Dex=Good AC and it will augment your already good reflex saves.
3) Str and Chr: Mesmerist melee: DO NOT go vexing daredevil, as you need the level 3 bold stare that lets you stare at creatures immune to mind effecting, and the daredevil gives that up. I'm not saying anything about the adventure path, but there are a lot of things in the game in general that are immune to mind effecting, and your painful stare already doesn't work on things immune to criticals (it is precision damage).
Grab yourself a Spear and stare at things for some melee damage. Nagaji and the pit-born tiefling are good for this, and as a bonus, Nagaji get natural armor. Your damage should be quite good (strx1.5 to damage PLUS painful stare) but your defenses will be lacking. Also not as feat intensive as the archery build.
