Nap of the Earth is contour flying. it was perfected to keep helicopters out of line of sight of radar systems on the planet.
They basically use terrain to hide themselves even if people are expecting them.

Hey Christon, Rufus should we get the ship to come in here, as we could use the rest, and it should be fixed by now

Rufus blinks away the visions for the second time. Relieved that the mushrooms don't seem to be sending out more spores, he holsters his blaster.

"You're kidding? You mean we stomped through this fungus jungle, got our minds scrambled by spores, and now you're saying we should have just waited till the ship was fixed and flown there?"

We could have, but this way was still stealthier.
We now have a place they can land that is lots closer to the prison.
I know I did not expect to get mind wiped by the mushrooms.

Dreams also checks the charge on his blaster before holstering it.

Rufus stretches briefly as he considers how much more distance they have to go. "Feels like this was a lot of wasted effort, if we just get picked up. Gives the Imperials a very good chance of spotting the ship, too."

Well, I am only thinking they come to here, and not beyond for right now.
Scout ahead, move the ship up to a safe location, rinse and repeat, until we are about 2 hours from the prison.
As for bottling things up, you if you want to, that will be on you.

Kol nodded at Lemm's reply.
"Yeah, but I don't want to warn the prison with a stray comm signal... maybe if we just use a handy comm."
He tapped his teeth, thinking.
"Hey!" He said, sitting up suddenly from his slouch. "Lemm, double check the numbers for me, but what if we didn't fire up the main powerplant, but just used thrusters on battery power? If we could fly there that way, it'll cut way down on our EM signature and maybe we could get real close without notice. What do you think, do we have the juice for it?" Asked Kol eagerly.
"And we'd need a real good pilot..." He continued, musing aloud.
*chime*
"Com signal!" He said, turning around to his computer monitor.

Kol studied the screen, then hit shipboard comms.
"Guys, comm signal from Dreams! They're calling us forward!"
He fed the coordinates into navigation and started looking for good Nap of the Earth routes...

It's cool, just wasn't sure what to do.

Having made it's way to the cockpit with Kol Lemm helps with the final preparations to make the Banshee space worthy again. As Kol shares his epiphany, Lemm nods, "Master Kol, I believe you are correct, using just the battery for thrusters and lift would reduce our EM signature significantly." having purpose again, the droid moves back towards the engines to manually override the power plant.

Rufus tries to get an idea of the conversation happening between Dreams and the crew on the ship. When he hears that they're flying it closer, he taps the Catharese on the shoulder. "Let them know that the starboard yaw peddle is a bit sluggish. If they're going to fly low."

He pauses, thinks, and adds, "And don't breathe the green mushrooms with purple spots."


Speaking to Kol on his internal comm, "Master Kol, I believe we are able to pass Imperial signals

Well, I guess we can tell them about the mushrooms when they get here.

"Alright, let's go." Kol said, slipping into the pilots seat.
Using the sketched in protocols, he carefully lifted ship on thrusters only. Easing the controls forward, keeping an eye on the starboard yaw pedal, he flew the ship under the treetops, then eased out over a nearby river and towards their friends.

After waving them into a nearby clearing, Dreams heads up the ramp.

Having bypassed the main engines, Lemm feels the ship begin to rise. Quickly engaging its magnetic servo's it realizes they will not be leaving the atmosphere. Shrugging to itself, "No reason not to be safe," Keeping it's Scomp link attached to the computer listening for any imperial chatter, Lemm nervously hums an Old Corellian opera.

Once the ship has landed near the others, Lemm contacts the cockpit, congratulating them. "Well done Master Kol. I will open the hatch." Proceeding to the hatch, Lemm lowers the gangplank, lookiing down at the others, seeing the Catharese. "Master Dreamchaser, it is good to see you. We have the ship repaired. Would you masters come aboard and discuss the next step in our plans?"

Trying to avoid an overheat situation, Kol delicately worked the controls to put the ship safely down in the open space indicated by Dreamchaser, then shut them down and sighed in relief.

Dashing down the ramp, Kol doublechecks the thruster nozzles as they slowly fade from a cherry red with a crackle of cooling metal.
Breathing a sigh of relief, he moved off to join the rest of the crew.

Problem with that, is that oversized block of metal up there in space which can send down lots of troopers.

Dreams walks back into the ship.

I am thinking we do the same thing after a rest, as we did, putting us within 2 to 3 hours of the prison.
Then we go look at the problem, and make a plan from there.

Listening to it's fellow crewmembers talk about the potential of being caught, Lemm ponders what sort of technology the the fort would need to have to discover the banshee approaching and how close it could get with out being discovered.

Robbidon pops his head up out of the hatch in the floor that allowed access to the landing gear, rubbing his head and frowning. He groans and says, "You guys could have warned me we were taking off! Shavit! That hurt..."

Seeing that there was no one immediately available or likely to offer sympathy, the pilot climbs out of and then secures the inner hatch, then makes his way to the ramp. "Oh. Hey, guys! How'd it go?"

Ok, caught up on reading. HUGE apologies for going silent. Will endeavor not to do so again.

Making a mental note to run a diagnostics on it's internal comlink, Lemm turns it's cycloptic eye to Robb. "My apologies Master Robb we were discussing it on the comlink."

As the the others boarded the Banshee it noted their disheveled appearance, agreeing with Kol, "Yes Masters, at least rest."

Confused by Rufus question, it asks, "May we not fly closer to the prison and avoid the dangers of the "Creepy hallucinogenic mushroom jungle" altogether?"

Rufus rushes to the cockpit and checks the location of the Imperial facility relative to their position.
Is the prison to the north, south, east or west of us (or some combination)? I checked the posts and didn't see where it specified a direction we traveled.

I dont think that they gave a direction in the module since the ship was supposed to being repaired the whole time by the NPC crew

Dreams comes out of the Fresher about 15 minutes later drying his mane and shirtless.
The multitudes of scars visible on his torso, as he continues to dry his hair.

Ah, that feels good, so what are we looking at for the morning

He walks over to the table.

My thought is that in the morning, we go scout a spot for the ship about 2 hours away from the prison and rest again.
Then we go look at the prison and make a plan from there.


Confused for a moment by Christon's comments out Imps and disco pubs and Rufus' rushing to the cockpit mumbling something about a 'solar approach.' Lemm Turns it's cycloptic towards Dreamchaser as the Catharese exit's the 'Fresher' drying his scared torso. Lifting a hand in a very human gesture. "Master Dreamchaser scouting for a closer spot seems prudent. since I have recharges less than ten hours ago I am able to keep watch while the rest of you get some rest."
