The only change that I'm considering for this character his is Background.

I wanted to see what kind of healing options (aside from the odd spell that I can cast). I might switch my background to Herbalist, if we're in need of a bit of a boost.

One question I asked in recruitment but got missed: Is it OK if Bac Dau starts with some shuriken? They're normally uncommon, but certainly don't seem particularly powerful, and would fit his background quite well.

Alright. Based on what we've got, I upped my healing game a bit. Finished character sheet is in the profile, as well as a link to my Herolab Sheet (including a 'likeness' picture; the avatar options are just abysmal).

Being a Druid, he won't have many heal spells, but he's trained in Medicine, and has the Natural Medicine feat from the Herbalist Background. Figured it was appropriate for a nature-based module.

I haven't completely decided yet, but I may dip into the Herbalist Archetype down the way.

Looks like Theodorus can act as a backup for healing in the after-fight, assuming that he's actually trained in the Medicine skill.

Thanks for picking up our slack on healing, Kane. All my PF2 characters so far have been their group's designated healer, so it'll be nice to focus on hurting bad guys. :)

Sure thing. Wasn't the original reason I built him, but not hard to modify for our purposes. :)

Chances are, I'll probably be taking Battle Medicine at 2nd level, just simply because I'm not a cleric. :p

Does the group have a preference one way or the other for maps? Google Slides are easy to set up but also easy to mess up. Roll20 might require some people to set up an account and doesn't work well at all on mobiles (but then neither do the Slides).

Okay, before this next event: while technically PF2 calls for many rolls to be secret ones, is it okay if I defer many of these rolls back to the players? It feels very strange to have the bulk of the rolling just be on my side and then I write you a description to respond to.

Based on our gameplay so far most of you are already giving me rolls with your posts--what I'm asking is do we want to codify that as our standard?

Having run some PF2, I found that some checks were pretty good as secret - perceptions in particular. I'm happy to go with however you like CW.


I prefer to roll myself unless doing so would give something away.

Some things should still be secret, I think, but it's not necessarily set in stone.

If the result could be misleading or too easy to quantify, then a secret roll might be better. Otherwise, anything works.

Okay, so for generic things like "I search the room we just cleared" feel free to roll me perception checks. Things like secret doors or ambushes will still be rolled by me in secret.

Checks to gather information or learn about monsters I will also do, since there's the potential to get incorrect information. Otherwise players rolling their own face skills, disabling traps, etc is fine and helps keep play moving.

I'm a big fan of secret checks, especially in this format. Having information revealed to me that way feels more organic rather than the whole "Roll for this/well crap, now I know there's something to worry about" thing.

But I love the compromise you are using

Hey Theo, your Int mod is +4, I could certainly be mistaken but it looks like +7 is the wrong damage modifier. Let me know how you're getting there if it is correct

You are correct...for some reason, I was adding my base bonus to the total.

Proficiency Level (Trained)
•Ability Bonus (+4): Intelligence 18 (+4)
•Base Bonus (+3): Character Level (+1), Trained Proficiency Modifier (+2)

It was correct that it was just the ability bonus...sorry

Just a heads-up but I'm having some trouble with my laptop's battery so I'm taking it to get a new one on Monday. The guy at the shop guestimated it could take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or two.

I should still be able to update the games but it'll be slower. I'll keep you all posted!
