Boomer Forgehammer
|
Boomer turns on his heels and moves back across the clearing towards the offending creature. "Just ssssit ssssstill so we can k...k..kill you!"
Double move
| GM supervillan |
With the pathfinders closing in, Blurry hops down off his menhir and slashes at Garsita before speeding by and leaping up on another rock. Same routine - spring attack avoids AoO from Garsita, Ninnic is not threatening at any point in Blurry's movement.
spring attack vs Garsita: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
"Ha-ha!" His small blade nicks Garsita, but it will take him many such blows to fell the sturdy half-orc cleric.
Combat round 7
Ninnic
Wulthur
Garsita, -3hp
Boomer, -1hp
Cynan, -3hp
Blurry fey, atop menhir 15' up, -10hp
The bold may act!
One or two solid hits are all you need - but he's a really annoying target!
Wulthur the Bold
|
Wulthur follows close to Cynan with his blade at the ready.
Move action
Melee (greatsword): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage (S): 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Boomer Forgehammer
|
Boomer follows Wulthur's lead and moves up, hoisting his earth breaker for a potential strike, should that fey creature come in range.
Move and draw as part of movement
B damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 = 11
| GM supervillan |
Cynan finally finds his target, getting a clean hit in. His cold-iron blanched bolt pierces the elusive fey through the chest.
"N-no! I won't let you take the lorestone back! I-won't-I-won't-I-won't!"
The little fellow stamps his feet in anger, and even though it's hard to see him clearly as he moves so fast you recognise that Cynan's bolt is probably fatal.
In a last, mad, desperate act of defiance, the quickling called Cyflymder throws himself at Cynan, seeking revenge.
sword vs Cynan: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
His flashing blade draws blood, and though it might leave a scar it isn't going to kill the pathfinder. Cyflymder evades your efforts to finish him off, only to collapse atop a menhir on the other side of the clearing.
"Damn... damn humans... ruin everything..."
Cyflymder becomes still, and fades from view.
Combat over!
I know Ninnic hasn't acted, but there is no way that Cyflymder is going to kill you all on his own. Cynan's crossbow bolt staggered him, and you arrived early enough that he can't keep evading you until the sun comes up.
With a bit of manoeuvring and a leg-up, it's possible to climb to the top of the menhir that your antagonist fell on. Unmoving, the fey is completely invisible. But a pool of blood forms underneath him, and you grope around and find his knapsack. Hidden within is a rune-carved stone the size of a man's fist: the lorestone!
You keep the lorestone hidden from the sun and deliver it to the Grand Lodge in Absalom, where it will take the Society's scholars many years to uncover its secrets.
The defeat of Cyflymder's gang has removed a minor menace from the Verduran forest, allowing local, peaceful druidic activity to resume. But, as explorers push ever deeper into the dark groves, friction with the fey is bound to flare up again.
This concludes Tide of Morning!
