Wulthur the Bold

"If Hemzel is gone, you wouldn't mind us examining his body, then, would you?" Wulthur asks, respectfully to the fey. "We were led to believe the druid, though aggressive, had an object in his possession that we wish to acquire."
| GM supervillan |
"Woah, woah, woah, so many questions!" the little fey remarks, seemingly unconcerned by Rasil's unforgiving grip.
"Cyflymder is a great and terrible fey! He’s promised to clear the Verduran Forest of the scum who stole our heritage. I think he is cruel—it would be better if you fled on your own, wouldn’t it?
And technically, I wasn't attacking you. Just defending our position.
Are you looking for a smooth rock?" she asks in response to Wulthur's question. "Cyflymder took it with him after he killed the druid. Too late. You're too late again."

Boomer responds, "And whhh...whhere is Cy..cy...cyf... the big baddie fey now?"
| GM supervillan |
"Cyflymder went north to a druid's circle to destroy that rock thingamajig" says the faerie.
Cynan opens the door to the hovel and is greeted by a blast of heat.
Inside the primitive, one-room hovel tinder from the fireplace is strewn about, sparking the fires that now climb the reed walls. The room itself is in shambles. An eviscerated human body sprawls across the floor, and a butchered wolf lies against the wall by the front door. Puddles of blood surround them. The man’s hands are tied to a rough wooden table, upon which sits an ornate — but empty — box and a blood-spattered manuscript.

Retrieving his wand of cure light wounds as he enters the home, Wulthur pauses just inside the door at the sight that greets him.
"Poor soul." remarks Wulthur as he sees the grim remains found in the home-turned-execution-site. "He may have been no friend to the Society, but I doubt that he deserved this."
Turning to the cleric, he offers his wand to her. "It can do no good for Hemzel now, but I could use a few charges myself, if it is not too much trouble."

Boomer steps into the hut and looks around to see if they are missing anything...or anyone.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Rasil's player seems to be having some rl issues, so I'll bot for now.
Rasilbot maintains his grasp on the atomie, unsure of her motivations.
Ninnic approaches the hut, but keeps a distance. However, the ratfolk is close enough that his sensitive nose picks something up even over the smells of burning and fresh meat. There's something, or someone, else in there!
Wulthur surveys the scene as he hands off his wand to Garsita.
Cynan: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
The cleric calls for someone to grab the visible manuscript before it burns, and she channels Shelyn's blessing to soothe the ills of the wounded.
Cynan is already on it, and grabs the journal before the flames can claim it.
Boomer comes in, not fearing the fire, and he spots a satchel under the shelves on the north wall. It looks like a scroll case protrudes from the bag.
Suddenly Cynan hears movement next to him - and then feels a boot to the face as a large man appears out of nowhere!
invisible boot to the face: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 29
The burly attacker stands atop a wooden desk, and his kick sends Cynan back into the flames! (improved) bull rush

I was sure I'd posted... I remember typing it up dangit. Though it did just maintain the grapple... so didn't change much I suppose =)
Rasil glares at the atomie, then glares at the axe-wielding man inside.
"You knew he was in there, didn't you." It is less a question than a statement. "You are as bad as those you cower from."
He practically flings her aside, like he was discarding something vile, and turns to enter the hut and help those inside.
free action to release grapple
As he moves, he pulls out a long metal javelin, circling around to the right, completely ignoring the flames there as he walks right through them.
Rasil has fire resist 7... so the minor fires shouldn't hurt him yet. Let me know if they start burning hotter.
Taking a moment to size up the foe, he hurls the javelin across the burning room.
Ranged, cold iron javelin: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 21, 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8

Boomer starts making a move towards the satchel, but sees the guy attacking Wulthur. For a quick moment, he thinks about helping the beefy man, but realizes that he has this well-in-hand. Instead, he refocuses on the satchel and makes towards it.
Move to satchel and move to retrieve. Please reposition if not in the right area.

Ninnic lines up a shot of magic, and the darts slam into the axeman, wiping the evil smirk of his face.
Cynan catches fire, and rushes from the burning hovel to throw himself to the ground in an effort to extinguish the flames.
fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Rolling on the floor gives you another save with a +4 bonus, which you should roll now.
The atomie gives a shrug and a frown, and flies off. She drops a grey bag as she goes.
Rasil walks through the fire and hurls a javelin at the axeman. His aim is true - and the dart pierces the enemy's flesh. The foes looks badly wounded. No cover when you attack - so you hit.
Wulthur tries to finish the fight, but in aiming to spare the axeman's life the pathfinder fails to make an impression, and the battle continues.
Boomer grabs the bag under the table, looking to save its contents from the flames. But he leaves himself exposed... You're in the right spot, but draw an AoO for retrieving the item.
axeman AoO vs Boomer: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
A heavy downward chop nearly fells Boomer as if the ifrit were a sapling tree. There seem to be a couple of potion vials in the satchel as well as the scroll case.

The axeman is no longer a threat, but the fire is and it's spreading so we stay in rounds for now.
For those of you who have Fire Resistance, you'll note that the 'original' flames are now burning hotter, and might be enough to cause you damage. The 'new' flames, where the fire has just spread, are not yet hot enough.

Cynan groans, "What a mess." Then he waves to the others, "Hey, Rasil, big guy, get Boomer out o' there!"
He steps back from the flames, "C'mon, look lively! Everybody out!"

"I promised that you would answer for your crimes." Wulthur quielty informs the the unresponsive axeman. "[smaller]Do not think death will relieve you of this responsibility."

Wulthur drags the unconscious axeman away. Only one save needed per round no matter how many burning squares you move through.

Cynan takes a moment to look around, "Can anyone get Boomer up? Things'll be easier if we can all run."
He waves back the way they came, "Let's all take a dip in that stream back there and figure out what we can do about this fire. Whole forest'll burn to nothing."
After a second of looking over the group, he scowls, "Is there anyone here not wounded?"

Ninnic sees no source of water close at hand, but remembers the stream that Cynan mentions. It's close enough that water could be brought from it to fight the fire - that at least keep the flames from spreading to the forest, even if you can't save the hut.
The ratfolk draws a healing wand... Boomer is still unconscious inside the hut, so attempting to CLW him will have to wait till next round.

It's too late to stop the fires from destroying what's left of the hut, along with Hemzel's body. But if you act quickly you can bring water from the stream and use it to create a firebreak which will stop the flames from spreading to the forest. No skill checks are necessary if you choose to do this - it just takes a little time.
