Jagrur still attempts to keep his mouth shut, though the stupid magical vomit seems to continue to get past his lips.

He does his best, but apparently lets out a grunt as the stupid weird creature lashes him. He sees it drop, but sees some kind of magical construct/book(?) on the ground. He fires his plasma fork at it....hoping the curators won't be too sad that fire weapons are being used.

Oops, I've been misapplying reach of these creatures for the bite attacks; no AoO.

The Starfinder's sonic strike breaks the spine of the bookish foe, rendering it lifeless.

Destiny | 1-01 |Guardian|Table 2 | On the Trail of History

With the outsiders and old edition, animated spell books gone, the equation storm ceases. The menacing glow emanating from Ears' mouth along with it.

Shortly thereafter, Albryan enters. Surveying the scene, the Curator apologizes for what he describes as “invading parasites”. Albryan offers to allow you to spend more time in the area as recompense. However, your collective research has already provided you with enough insight from the documentation to tell that the Starfinder Society agents previous had been following up on all information related to a string of Pact World–sponsored colonies out in the Vast that went missing, but were never acknowledged by the Pact. It would seem, then, that the party having already recovered all of the available information.

"This reward is for your efforts weathering the equational storm and defeating the pests and aberrant tomes." says Albryan. The axiomite holds out an amulet of camouflage and a ring of sustenance.

"Please, accept these items as tokens of appreciation. These are spares that retrieved from one of Athaeum's many vaults and will not be missed. However, I must demand that you depart as soon as your allotted time is over." Albryan insists. Albryan and the other Curators refuse to allow any of the documents to leave the library.

Left no alternative, you depart Athaeum and make the journey back to the Pact Worlds. Upon your return, Ehu meets with you. commending you for braving the unexpected dangers of the library.

"While the danger was unexpected," the kasatha states, “a Starfinder must always be prepared for danger in the most peaceful corners of the galaxy.”

Reviewing your information that you have learned about the missing Pact Worlds colonies, Ehu indicates that the information is startling and that he plans to petition the Forum to investigate the apparent Pact Worlds cover-up. He again thanks you and immediately departs to collate the retrieved data and put together his case.

Having completed the missions for each of the candidates, you can return to the Lorespire Complex and meet with First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo. When you find the current First Seeker, she is not waiting within the Lorespire. Instead, she sits on a bench near the center of the campus. When she spots them, Luwazi waves you over and eagerly asks, "So, what are your opinions as to each of the candidates for First Seeker? I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts."

As you may have gathered, we are wrapping up soon. Please feel free to post a response in character if you'd like. I will close out the scenario within the next 48 hours or once everyone has posted, whichever comes sooner.

In the meantime, please make sure that the correct reporting information for your PC is posted in the Discussion thread.

Octavii actually settled on the bench next to Luwasi and, for once, sounds very serious.

To be honest, I'm not sure about Tara Nova. I think she's in it for the publicity. And after editing our mission and putting it on the Infosphere, I'm not sure that's a good idea. We're already suffering from one smear campaign now and ..... well ..... we don't wanna give the nutjobs and the conspiracy theorists any more ammunition to use against us.

As for Calder. I quite like him, mostly cause he's a fellow musician. Consolidating what we have and expanding into the Vast - I can agree with that. Although after that incident with the zigzag line - I just hope his ... erm .. being a stickler for protocol won't get him .... erm ...... stuck. Presumably a good First Seeker needs to be adaptable and quick on their feet as it were - able to ... um ... change the beat and tempo at a moment's notice.

Avor ... gotta say he seems a pretty decent dude ... wants to help his fellow agents. Not sure what he'd do if he was forced into an untenable situation though ... didn't really get much time with him actually to really find out.

Which leaves Ehu .... and I left him to last for a reason. Cause I believe he's the right dude for the job. He's got a solid idea and yeah ... we gotta push on Besides, he's into uncovering mysteries and I tend to agree. So, I guess he gets my vote.

Croaker tends to Ear wounds while there are still in the library.

After that, he is glad to be gone from that place. He simply says

"Too little chaos in there for my taste."

He is also glad to be at Lorespire. Croaker waves to Luwazi and sits on the bench nearby.

"I bought some snacks for later, but we can eat them now for that matter. I bought them in the place where we met Avor, Akitonian delicacies. Mostly sweets, only a bit of fried crickets, and a couple of salty dishes. "

After he eats a couple of crickets Croaker says

"Yeah Avor gets my voice. Great guy! Honest, hard-working, caring about the agents, not being afraid to get his hands dirty. My kind of leader."

After taking a look around

"I should really have bought a bucket of coffee. Damn! Yeah Calder, to slow on his flippers, bloody servant to the rules. Write a rule saying that he should jump down the cliff and he will be eager to do so."

"Tara, hmm she is tricky. She has a different approach and it might work. She focuses on the PR, I saw it being effective in one of my mercenary gigs."

"Ehu? I would not want him to win this vote. We struggle with to many things for us to look for exploration sensations while we struggle at so many other fronts." In your face Ehu!

At the end of the combat, before Albryan comes in

Jagrur shakes his head in disbelief...."So that is what my grandpappy must have meant when he told me as a wee lad that [i]'Words can hurt'[i]. I never thought I would have seen something like that. Glad I do most of my reading on a Sindle Conflaguration....those books had a bite on them."

On discussion on the 4

Jagrur shrugs as Luwazi's eyes land on him.

"A lot of the others seem to have some of my views... Tara Nova seems to be to much into the publicity. Not something I feel we need to delve into. Calder is a bit TOO much a stickler for rules, and as we all know, sometimes the Starfinders need to be more flexible.

Between the other two, it is hard to pick. Avor is all about us helping each other, and Ehu seems to want to go back to the the exploration of near space and the vast. Both are commendable....I wish there was a conglomeration of them both. But if I have to pick....Avor would likely be my suggestion. I think after the craziness of the Scoured stars we should for a year or two attempt to regroup. I know a lot of other Starfinders that are mentally, emotionally of physically hurt."

With that Jagrur looks over 'Dross...making certain it made it out of this mess again with little damage.

I'm definitely down to Avor and Ehu as the better picks. But I think Ehu is the right choice. The Society needs a sense of purpose. A mission. We don't need to jump in on it all at once. And Avor would make a great number 2 and advisor. He might temper over-enthusiam on Ehu's part."

Ehu.

First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo stands from the bench she’d been sitting on. She gives one deep nod, looking over all the nearby assembled agents. “I must sincerely thank you for taking the time to meet each of these candidates. Your reports on this matter is important to me, but more importantly, these impressions can help shape the Society. Know that in the coming months, the Forum will convene to decide the Society’s future."

"Though the Forum represents our broader leadership, the decision truly comes from the agents that make up our Society, like yourselves." she continues. "I have no doubt that in the coming days, you’ll each have an opportunity to give your final decision on which of these candidates should take my position as the Society’s guiding leader and that those decisions will shape our future."

“For now, think on these candidates and prepare to make an
informed decision.”
she says.

Not long afterward, with the election completed. A new First Seeker is elected, ushering in a new direction for the Starfinder Society.
