"Who has the wand? Izo?" Kast asks, hoping to get Seamus healed up. "And what is the command word? Does anyone remember?"

GM Euan, what was the command word? Father Zantus used it in front of us. Was it covfefe or hamberder?

Izomandakus produces the healing wand slowly from below his silken robes "Do we REALLY need to spoil magic on the Tsutito?" he does, reticently, offers the wand to anyone able to use it.

As the group starts to move to the basement, the boy points Tsuto "Pachemu, stand guard on here and watch for him and any goblins. If someone comes in or wakes up, let me know immediately" Izomandakus has an empathic link with Pachemu and should know if something is wrong while they explore the basement.

Afterwards, he descends with Kizzy "I think the basement is in this door, follow me"

hamberder, definitely hamberder

You head down into the basement, courageous, but fearful of what you might find there.

A19, The various nooks and crannies of this hall are used to store sand and other raw materials, in large crates and barrels. Two wheelbarrows sit along the wall in the alcove. You also find brick debris in the hall near area A22 and A23. Apparently both those doors had been bricked over until recently, as in just a few days ago you’d guess from the state of the debris.

A20, This room is used to store glassware, windows, and other finished goods not ready to be shipped.

A21, On the first pass, this door is locked, so we’ll come back to it.

A22, Once a hidden chamber, it looks like Tsuto has been using it as a residence for the last few days, and he wasn’t a clean guest. In addition to the filth, you find his journal!

A23, Also once hidden, this small chamber leads to a tunnel which heads into the darkness below Sandpoint. Deciding you’d check the locked door first, you return to A21 where Seamus, presumably, does his work.

The lock is not that complex, and he pops it without breaking a sweat. Opening the door, you see Ameiko, huddled in the corner! She is bound at the wrists and ankles with rope, and blindfolded and gagged with strips of leather. She breathes, but she does not move, or react to your call.

Female Human(varisian)

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Meg can try to UMD it, but I'm assuming someone with the ability to just use it will activate it for her

Meg dashes over to Ameiko. "Do not worry, darling. It is us. You are safe!" She pulls off the blindfold first, then the gag, then begins working on cutting the ropes with her dagger.

Kast takes the wand from Izo, truly expecting someone else to take it and use it on Seamus. ”What? Well, I’ll give it a go,” Kast looks at the wand and tries to imagine what it would be like to use it perfectly.

He moves over to Seamus, and looks again at the wounds on his friend. ”Alright, hold still. This might not work. Or I dunno, shock you or something...”

”Hamberder!” Kast says, touching the wand to Seamus.

C’mon, be perfect!

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 CLW to Seamus

YES! That was perfect! YES!

Kast looks down to see if what he felt and saw is what is reflected in Seamus’s wound. ”Ha! I can’t believe that worked! NO WAY! HA!” Kast exclaims happily.

Will get to Ameiko in my next post.

Watching as Izomandakus hands Kast the wand, Seamus gestures towards his cut leg, "It's not for him it's for me." He looks at the gash in his deep blue, almost black hose. He then looks at the pants Tsuto is wearing, "And he owes me a pair of pants too."

Raising an eyebrow 'Shock me?' as Kast says Hamberder. The wound on his leg and burns on his hands and neck feel cool and soothing and then stop hurting altogether. Seamus smiles, reaching out his fist for a 'Lastwall' bump. "Perfect Kast, absolutely perfect!"

basement
'That's a good idea.' Nodding approvingly as Izomandakus has his pet pig stand guard, Seamus follows the boy into the dark basement. checking the latch on the locked door, "We can get that once we make sure the basement is clear."

Seeing the filth in the room Tsuto was living in, Seamus mumbles, "Maybe I don't want his pants." Inspecting the room, finding the book he hands it to Kizzy. "Here Kizzy. Ameiko is your friend you should look at this."

"I don't like the look of that tunnel, but before we decide if were heading down it or not, lets pop that locked door." Drawing out the tools he was given for his job in Magnimar, he pops the lock revealing Ameiko. Making room as Meg rushes past, he turns to Kizzy nodding, staying out of the way so she could be with her friend. He turns to Kast. "Do you think the wand will help her?"

He would take 10 (21) on perception for Tsuto's room and 10(21) on the lock if it didn't work he would take 20 (31)

Izomandakus lips stretch as he slowly releases finger by finger his grasp on the wand while Kast pulls increasingly strongly. The boy stares at the wand going away from his grasp but says nothing as Kast hamberders Seamus.

"Ameiko San! Ameiko San! Are you ok?" Izomandakus shakes the woman trying to bring her up "Quickly, some water, or salts, or hamberder"

Qetsiyah pockets the journal for looking over later. She anxiously waits for Seamus to open the lock and then moves in to help Ameiko along with Meg and Izo. Seeing that her friend is unconscious, she checks her condition as gently as she could, palpating her wrists and throat for her pulse and looking over any wounds or swelling.

"I'm not sure a hamberder is going to do it. She's been beaten. Gods damn that bastard!" Her hands ball up into fists, and she looks like she wants to hit something very badly. But she is too worried about Ameiko to let it fly.

"I think we'd better get Father Zantus. I'd carry her there myself, but I'm not sure if it's safe to move her."

Kizzy does have one rank in Heal skill, it's just zeroed out by her negative Wis bonus.

Relieved as Ameiko opens her eyes, Seamus nods in agreement as Meg and Kast tells her what happened chuckling at Kast's "you don't mess with the Sandpoint watch."

When Kizzy encourages her to get checked out by the priest he agrees. "Yes, you should get checked out by the priest. Sadly I don't think there is anything he can do for your father. Your brother killed him by dumping huge glob of hot glass over him."

When Kast asks her about the basement, Seamus gives his friend a funny look, but doesn't say anything.

Ameiko looks at you confused, ”We’re in the basement. It’s just storage.” She clearly doesn’t know about the recently removed wall sections and the doors that lay beyond having been brought here already unconscious.

She starts with the note, until you show it to her, so she skips ahead. She’s clearly distraught at her brothers treachery, and has trouble explaining herself, but she does manage to stand, woozily, as she speaks.

Tsuto revealed to Ameiko that he and several other mercenaries were led by Nualia (!!), the presumed-dead adopted daughter of Father Tobyn, and hinted that she’s got big plans for Sandpoint’s future. Ameiko expresses surprise, and some doubt, that’s it’s actually Nualia, though her brother was insistant.

Tsuto warned Ameiko that she didn’t want to be in town when those plans came through, and offered her a chance to join his group of goblins at Thistletop, apparently their headquarters. Ameiko recoiled at the suggestion and slapped her brother in shock that he’d sunk to such a low. He responded by unleashing his goblins on her.

”I didn’t expect it. I had no weapons. They overwhelmed me and I awoke when you rescued me. Before we go to the church, I must warn my father. He should know of Tsuto’s actions.”

She, unsteadily, starts moving toward the door, but with purpose.

She falters, and begins crying afresh. ”Oh, poor father. He wasn’t an evil man you understand, just troubled and oh so set in his ways.” She doesn’t immediately make the connection that he’s quite set in his ways now. She takes another moment to overcome this fresh loss. ”They destroyed each other.” she mumbles as she gathers her strength.

You eventually get her up the stairs with help, and guide her out the side entrance to avoid seeing her father.

Some of you help her to the church (presumably) while others take Tsuto to the Sandpoint Garrison. The good Father takes her in and immediately starts casting spells while giving her a comfortable couch to lie on for the moment. The Deputy Sheriff (a competent but somewhat mean-spirited man named Warren who absolutely loathes poor Kast) accepts Tsuto into custody and promises to keep him in his cell until the Sheriff returns and can ”Sort out this mess.” He also sends a couple guards to take charge of the Glassworks so no one blunders in, no goblins get back up, etc.

You meet back at the Rusty Dragon where Bethana meets you at the door. Eyes rimmed red with worry, she looks at the blood on your clothes and says only, ”Ameiko?” Her hand reaches out to a nearby table for support.

Qetsiyah glares daggers at Seamus when he blurts to Ameiko her father's fate but does her best to support her friend through her grief. "I'm sorry for your loss, Ameiko. Don't worry, we're going to look into this mess. Maybe by the time you've had some rest, we'll have some answers for you."

She guided Ameiko to the Cathedral and then went to tell Bethana what happened once she was settled. "She'll be alright, Bethana. Father Zantus is taking care of her. It was a good thing you said something. There was a right mess down at the Glassworks. Lord Kaijitsu was killed... by Tsuto."

'Why is she giving me the stink eye?' Catching Kizzy's glare and quickly looking away, Seamus shrugs at Kast and repeats after Kizzy, "Yes, sorry for your loss."

Keeping quiet as Kizzy and Meg help Ameiko up the stairs, Seamus nods back toward the factory, "I'll help take Tsuto to the Garrison. We'll meet you at 'the Rust Dragon' when were through."

after the split up
Headed back into where they had left Tsuto and Pachemu, thinking aloud, "Nualia or not, It worries me that Tsuto was working with someone other than the goblins, let alone mercenaries." As they walk up to Tsuto's unconscious body, he adds. "Maybe we should check out Thistletop." Pausing for a moment, "After we inspect that tunnel downstairs."

Moving to the prisoner, he quickly strips Tsuto's body of anything valuable. Looking up at Kast and Izomandakus, "What, he won't need any of this where were taking him." Turning the prisoners head to take out the earrings he drops them in the pouch with the coins and golddust and places the pouch in his bandolier. "We can split that up later." Stuffing the flute in the quiver, he unslings it, putting the bow in it's case, throwing the quiver over his shoulder. "Maybe Meg will want the bow." Finding the 'tools' he shows them to Kast. "Looks like someone taught him how to help people who have locked themselves out of their houses as well." Holding up the potion, he asks Izomandakus, "Do you want to give this to Pachemu, he still looks a little peaked."

Having relieved the prisoner of anything valuable, Seamus hooks his hand under Tsuto's arm, looking at the other two. "Someone help me drag him to the garrison."

At the garrison Seamus stays quiet, letting Kast handle the details of the report. When they leave, heading down Market Street, he asks. "Hey Kast, what's Warren's beef?"

Meg is right there with Ameiko and Kizzy, offering a kind word or touch as the situation calls for it. "It was a horrible situation. I am just glad that we were able to put a stop to the madness before it went any further." She grants Bethana her kindest smile. "As Kizzy said, you saying something was the right call. You almost certainly saved Ameiko's life."

When the scene has calmed and she has a moment, Meg sidles up to Ameiko. "I wish I did not have to ask, but I anticipate that we will need to speak with Tsuto soon about what just happened. Do you have any suggestions for the best approach to get information out of him?" She holds up a hand before Ameiko has a chance to speak. "Please do not feel obligated to answer. "There was a journal Meg, perhaps we should read it before trying to get answers from Tsuto" Izomandakus points at Kizzy who took the journal before.

"We need to reinforce the town defenses. We are responsible on this right now... but we must find a way to discover if what Tsuto told Ameiko about Thistletop is true"

Kast helps Ameiko up, steadying her, only letting go after she's able to walk for herself. "I have to get your brother. But...but I don't think you should go in there. Yes, your father is in there, and it's not..it's not pretty. I'll meet you outside."

As narrated, Kast (with Seamus) will take Tsuto to Sandpoint Garrison and hands the prisoner over to Warren. "Yeah, I'd like nothing better than for the Sheriff to be here too. This is ugly business, Warren, but I don't have to tell you that. Thanks for seeing to the safety of the Glassworks, that is good thinking," Kast offers the smile of someone who is being helped and appreciates it. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 Diplomacy He does offer a Lastwall fistbump should Warren opt to reciprocate.

He stops short. "You know Seamus? We should go check out that tunnel. And see where it goes. I'll feel better after I do. We don't need to make a big deal of it. Just need to make sure the way is closed and nothing else can get back in."

Not sure how much of the party wants to go back, but Kast won't be sitting easy at the Rusty Dragon until his conscience is clear.

"You want to come back and check it out, Seamus? Let's swing by the 'Dragon and see if the rest want to go too. Shouldn't take too long. Just a walk along the Junk Beach, no more, probably."

Kast will swing by the 'Dragon then go back to the Glassworks to check the tunnel out and see where it goes.

Nodding in agreement with Kast, "I think your right, we should check out the tunnel as quickly as possible." He shifts the unfamiliar quivers strap, "Let's check the 'Dragon' and tell Bethana that Ameiko is safe and see if the others are there yet. If not we can head to the temple and tell them what were up to. See if they want to go." He pats the bandolier where he put the pouch. "Give this to one of them for safe keeping." There’s shock registered on Bethana’s face, but not much sympathy. ”Oh. Wow.” she manages to sputter. She is however quite relieved at the word that Ameiko is well, or at least well tended. She withdraws back to the kitchen, presumably to have a little sit-down before starting in on lunch prep.

Father Zantus steps between you quietly, but firmly, suggesting, ”Ameiko needs to rest. She’s lost a lot of blood, and her father. Magical healing can only go so far. Please.”

He’ll escort you out of the church, politely.

The group meets shortly at the Dragon, Kizzy having secured your usual table. It’s still an hour or so before lunch will be ready and the place is pretty empty.

You take a moment to look at Tsuto’s journal as you decide what to to next (sounds like the tunnels, but let me know if you have further prep).

This small, leather-bound booklet contains two dozen parchment pages, most of which Tsuto has filled with maps of Sandpoint or erotic drawings of a woman.

Knowledge Local DC 15:
The drawings are of Nualia, the presumed-dead adopted daughter of Father Tobyn.
- - -

The maps each depict different attack plans. The first set shows the attack plans for a group of 30 goblins - one of these battle maps is circled, and you recognize it as the attack the goblins made on Sandpoint a few short days ago. Of more pressing concern are the next several pages, which illustrate an assault on Sandpoint by a force of what appears to be 200 goblins. None of these are circled, and while many are scratched out as if they’ve been rejected, the implications are clear - a large raid is in the works.

Most of the drawings of the woman do not depict her with a demonic body parts, although one on the last pages of the
book does; it portrays her with bat wings, horns, a forked tail, and fangs. In fact, the last pages of the journal are to be found here (image).

Journal Text:
The raid went about as planned. Few Thistletop goblins perished, and we were able to secure Tobyn’s casket with ease while the rubes were distracted by the rest. I can’t wait until the real raid. This town deserves a burning, that’s for sure.

Ripnugget seems to favor the overwhelming land approach, but I don’t think it’s the best plan. We should get the quasit’s aid. Send her freaks up from below via the smuggling tunnel in my father’s Glassworks, and then invade from the river and from the Glassworks in smaller but more focused strikes. The rest except Bruthazmus agree, and I’m pretty sure the bugbear’s just being contrary to annoy me. My love’s too distracted with the lower chambers to make a decision. Says that once Malfeshnekor’s released and under her command, we won’t need to worry about being subtle. I hope she’s right.

My love seems bent on going through with it - nothing I can say convinces her of her beauty. She remains obsessed with removing what she calls her "celestial taint" and replacing it with her Mother’s grace. Burning her father’s remains at the Thistletop shrine seems to have started the transformation, but I can’t say her new hand is pleasing to me. Hopefully when she offers Sandpoint to Lamashtu’s fires, her new body won’t be as hideous. Maybe I’ll luck out. Succubi are demons too, aren’t they?

I read that Meg and Kizzy spoke with Bethana, should have just put som of this at the end of one of the earlier posts

Walking into the 'Dragon' Seamus see's the others at their usual table. Unlooping he quiver from his shoulder he sets it on the table. "Here Kizzy, I realize it's a short bow, but it's has to be more accurate than your sling, I think one strap is longer." Emptying the bandolier pocket of the pouch and 'tools' onto the table as well.

Taking a seat he gestures back to Kast. "Kast and I were thinking of going back to the factory and finding out where that tunnel went."

Seeing the journal on the table, he motions, "Can I take a look at that?" flipping through it, he adds, "That's weird the pictures look like Nualia, I thought she died in the fire." As he read a little more, "Do you think She is Tsuto's girl?"

Meg bows her head to the Father. "As you wish, Father. I know you will take good care of her."

She meets up with the others and takes a look at the journal herself. She flips through it rather quickly. She finds the battle maps and such incredibly dull and skips right by them, instead focusing the shocking revelations about Tsuto and his "love." There is just so much going on here. Nualia is alive? And and with Tsuto?? And she worships something called Lamashtu???

Knowledge (religion) on Lamashtu: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Meg draws a complete blank on who exactly that is, not even connecting the name to the month of the year. From the context, it sounds like she might be related to demons? "I feel as though--and I may be entirely out-of-line here--if the woman I 'loved' was going through some kind of demonic transformation, I would probably be worried about more than just how f$%~able she would be after it." The tone of her voice indicates that she is, in fact, quite sure that she is not out-of-line and is just saying so for effect. Meg shakes her head, her jaw tight. "None of this makes any sense. Why would Nualia be alive still? How? And wanting to be demonic? And what does that have to do with burning her dad's body?"

"Light, well I have a torch. We should be able to light it inside," he agrees, but it could be nice if Meg has another solution.

"Izo, I'll be back for the journal in no time. I'd like to read it when you finish."

Kast limps off to do what must be done to ease his worry.

"Do you think she is Nualia? I do not remember her having demonic wings..." as Izomandakus reads the journal aloud for any remaining party member, he rubs his nose "That explains about the demon wings... ok. But... who has resurrected her and why?"

"For what the journal says the tunnels must be some kind of smuggling corridor Lonjiku had. I wonder why the man had the need of such a think? Might he have been selling other stuff than glass?" Izomandakus looks at Seamus smelling his friend might have an explanation "I will get a masonry laborer to completely seal it before we have more goblin attacks through it"

The boy will hire two or three workers to make an urgent work and seal the smuggling tunnel.

Qetsiyah looks grim over the contents of the journal. "What in the hells is a quasit? Kast is right. We need to see what's down there before we try and seal it up. This journal talks about some of those goblins and the bugbear Shalelu mentioned. Not to mention 'freaks'... whatever that means." She gathers up her things, including Tsuto's bow and follows Meg.

"If it is your Nualia, it doesn't necessarily mean she was resurrected, Izo. Sometimes people want to disappear, so they pretend to die. Fire makes it easy to fake your death, since you can't really tell much about a body after it's burned." She shook her head and shrugged, not understanding the why of it all herself.

"Let's go see what we can see. Maybe we'll discover what Lonjiku was smuggling. Or what a quasit is."

It's complicated Human with a level 16 pig | Character Sheet | (Completed Rise of the Runelords)

"Why to disappear like that without telling your friends and loved ones you are leaving?" Izomandakus looks puzzled at Kizzy "I think resurrection is more likely. Perhaps Lamashtu decided to resurrect her on exchange of becoming a new monster to praise her? Yes, this has more sense"

"Smuggling tunnel, it says. I expect a corridor going out into the wilderness or the sea" explains Izomandakus while trying to remember what a quasit is.

Having caught up to Kast, Seamus listens to Kizzy and Izomandakus theorize about the girl thing in the journal. Hearing Izomandakus' question, he reminds his friend. Her dad died in the fire, maybe she didn't have any friends or loved ones left?"

Xin-Shalast - Roll20 Map - Tracking Sheet

Izomandakus knows that a quasit is a CE Tiny outsider (chaotic, demon, evil, extraplanar), created from the Abyss as servants to powerful spell casters. He has one additional question about them.

The party heads back down to the Glassworks, where a small crowd has gathered, well OK, just three people, but they’re curious. A guard stands at the door keeping them away. He nods as you approach, and lets you pass without much hassle.

Inside, the smell of blood is still strong, and the other guard is in with the dead goblins, and Lonjiku. He has busied himself by finishing separating the goblin parts from the human, for later burial and generally made paths in the broken glass and ichor for walking.

You move past him to the basement and the recently excavated tunnel and prepare your light sources. The long tunnel is in two parts. The northern portion winds lazily northeast for nearly 2,000’ before reaching a dead end.

Even casual examination by Seamus reveals a secret passage. It could have been hidden better, but goblins have been using it, and so there’s debris from the cave beyond - sand - around the floor by the door.

Beyond the door the passage opens to a 30’ diameter cave on the side of the cliff overlooking the Varisian Gulf. The cave mouth slopes to a narrow beach, and it is clear that goblins have been residing here for some days.

You still have the southern portion to investigate which seems to lead into Sandpoint proper.

Female Human(varisian)

Meg strides along wary at first of ambush, but she quickly relaxes as nothing seems to be bothering them, even sheathing her sword. She slows to a stroll as she folds her arms behind her head, partly to relax and partly to take up less horizontal space in the cramped tunnels. "This is quite a complex! Did Lonjiku build this or was it here before him? Not to speak ill of the dead, but a hidden beach access sounds quite useful for smuggling."

"Smuggling tunnel, it says. I expect a corridor going out into the wilderness or the sea" explains Izomandakus while trying to remember what a quasit is.

Kizzy shrugged again, she had a suspicion that Seamus was right and that Nualia might not have had many friends and loved ones anymore. But Izomandakus seemed to want to believe that something had happened to the girl. Something to change her. And perhaps he was right too.

"So a quasit is a demon?" She asked in answer to what Izo shared, looking concerned. "Do we need anything special to fight a demon?"

Qetsiyah looks for any tracks in the tunnel.

"Tsuto's note said Lonjiku had done something nefarious. Maybe it wasn't just a ruse to get Ameiko alone?" She theorized in reply to Meg's queries.

Nodding politely to the guard at the door, Seamus tries to hold his breath as they go through the main part of the factory, 'What a terrible Job.' Nodding again to the guard organizing body parts, he gets down the stairs as quickly as possible. At the bottom of the steps, Longknife and throwing knife in hand Seamus asks Meg "Hey Meg can we use your four lights?"

Spotting the 'hidden' door, Seamus points to it, and helps dig it out. eventually finding themselves on the beach,. Raising an eyebrow at Megs observation, Seamus shrugs. "Still too close to town, the Scza... er... smugglers, prefer something a little less conspicuous."

eventually
Nodding, "Let's see where the south tunnel goes." Heading back the way they came, Seamus heads down the southern tunnel, Moving slow, keeping a keen eye out.

Female Human(varisian)

Meg's lights pop into existence. She has two follow above Seamus and Kizzy's heads as they lead and the other two follow above the people at the back of the party.

"I can, in fact, use them. I think I will, too." She tosses out a laugh at Seamus's opinion on the conspicuousness of the beach. "Well, I doubt that Lonjiku was a 'Scza,' so it tracks that he would not do things as they do."

Earlier on the beach

Smiling at Meg's 'abbreviation' that he unintentionally blurted out, He shrugs. "Maybe he was smuggling, not sure it would have been needed since he owned the town, or at least a quarter of it. Maybe he built on the tunnel, or the goblins dug it."

Nodding back to the cave. "Does anyone know enough about 'digging tunnels' to be able to tell if these were dug at the same time."

After the group heads back from the beach to the tunnel they stumble with Izomandakus followed by Pachemu and a stout young woman with a squared chin and wavy blue hair "Hi there! Jess accepted to come and see the smuggling tunnel to make a budget on completely sealing this. She was kind enough to come in urgent service despite she is very busy fixing the last raid damages"

The boy starts by pointing the darkness towards the Glassworks "I am thinking we should fill all this with bricks or stones, what material do you propose? I do not think a simple wall would stop any new raid, we should fill the whole corridor"

Then blinking at the sight of the other tunnel he questions the others "And that? Why is there another tunnel and a cave in the smuggling tunnel? What was Lonjiku doing here? Is this a secret pesh laboratory or what?"

The bricklayer smiles at the sight of more than just the youth hiring her. ”Well, it depends on how easily you want folks to get through. Now see here, the folks that originally bricked this passage, oh a few decades ago I’d guess, did a fine job. But they assumed no one would want to break through. Just how secure do you want this?”

The tunnels are clearly old, but they could have been done in Lonjiku’s lifetime. They certainly look like what you’d imagine smugglers tunnels to look like - wide enough for two or more servants to drag a pallet of goods from end to end. Still, from the looks of them they haven’t been used in a long time either - at least until recently. If you were to hazard a guess, you’d suspect Lonjiku may have done some smuggling early on to supplement his income, but at some point, still in his youth likely, he went legit.

Kizzy finds some tracks. They seem to match the fine boots of Tsuto, and the numerous padded feet of goblins. In fact so many goblins have been through here, you suspect that’s how they got into town so easily during the raid. They must have been pouring out of the glassworks into the streets.

Proceeding onward, assuming you’re leaving the bricklayer behind to begin measuring and planing the sealing, while you continue to investigate.

Backtracking to the tunnel’s southern portion it quickly splits into two tunnels. One leads east to a collapse after 400’ or so as it winds toward the Turandarok River. The southwestern portion was once bricked over, but here too the bricks have been removed - and recently, though not as recently as the bricks above in the Glassworks. Seems someone got into these tunnels first, before opening up the passage to the Glassworks so they must have come from the beach.

The tunnel curves northeast eventually, opening up a bit ahead, and becomes much rougher and more natural. It looks rather more ancient than the smooth hand-made walls you’ve been walking through. There’s a rough patch where it’s clear they broke through into this rougher portion many years ago, but they didn’t finish it. They must have not liked what they saw, and bricked up the entire wing…

You bravely continue on however and discover a small side chamber while the main tunnel continues onward. However, as your light spills into this chamber, its watchful guardian screetches into action! You see a hairless humanoid lurching on back-bent, dog-like legs, its hideous mouth flanked by tiny arms with three-fingered hands grasping at you as it leaps to attack welding a ranseur!

Catching up, busy day.

Kast is pleased that the full compliment of the party has joined him with this simple, easy task...just to relieve him of his worry that they were missing something. Or that the next goblin raid might be coming. Or that there were more goblins coming. Sure, he'd like to have the Sheriff, and Shalelu, and the freakin' Lord Commander of Lastwall with him instead, but this group had been both eager and willing and kind and thoughtful about protecting Sandpoint.

And they aren't even in the Watch.

As he limps to the Glassworks, he had a big goofy smile on his face.

Seeing the tight confines of the passage (nearly as wide as his longspear), Kast switches to shield and morningstar. He stows his longspear away for the time being.

"I didn't even see this passage, Seamus. Good eyes." Kast has many gifts (and a few curses), but keen observation skills isn't one of them. "Thanks for the lights, guys. Nice."

Though he would go first, and worries a bit about Seamus getting injured again when it's his job to get injured in defense of the town, he feels this is important to Seamus and doesn't say a thing. Out loud. At all.
