Before the speeches go on, Izomandakus buys some flour at the stalls as his mother has ordered him "Wow, a silver piece? The price has really ramped up!" he also buys a piece of cheddar for himself and two carrots for Pachemu who delights himself while looking at the dais events.
"She is Kendra Deverin, our mayor" Izomandakus points out to both Kizzy and Meg, also explaining later who Belor Hemlock and Father Abstalar Zantus are. The boy slowly savors the cheddar piece while the speeches go on.
Izomandakus saddens when the Sheriff remembers the church burning down "Those are sad memories, specially with the people we lost during the fire..." but then cheers up a bit when Cyrdak Drokkus comes up to the dais "I remember the meetings soon after, how some thought we could not rebuild even that simple structure. But Sandpoint banded together, sacrificing time and coin to give us this magnificent structure" the boy smiles clearly proud of being a Sandpointer.
When Cyrdak Drokkus reminds everyone about The Harpy's Curse, he comments to Kizzy "Are you still willing to accompany me Kizzy? Maybe we can have a look and get a couple of tickets just now"
Izomandakus thanks a lot the free food, getting a good ration of curry salmon then tries out a taste of the White Deer’s peppercorn venison. One might wonder where all that goes as he is quite skinny. The boy is not bold enough to talk with the authorities of the town, but he does catch up with Ameiko and looks for the Scarnetti as well.

"I think I would also like to play Meg. And the lucky pig dice game sounds as something I would like to try out" the dice goes actually badly, he looks at Meg abashed when every coin he puts in is basically lost "Not my day"

Morning with Meg
Kizzy shrugged, "I don't usually wear scent. Whatever you think doesn't stink." She held her clothes up for Meg to magic clean while wrapped in a towel and then gave them an experimental sniff. Smells a little musky still... Or were they just that ripe? Seemed it would suffice anyway, so she set about dressing to get on with their festival day.
Breakfast with Izomandakus
Qetsiyah loved sweets and raved over the hot, fresh pastry offered at Sandpoint Savories. In fact, she loved them so much she got quite loud just as she noticed the boy was called an unfamiliar name by his mother. "Omigosh, did you try the Cinnamon Apple one there Meg. Say, what's that you have there, a Cream Cheese Danish? Yum!" When Izomandakus looked ready to head out, she grinned at him "So your family seems nice. Thanks, Mrs. Avertin!" She called as they escaped out onto the streets for the festivities.
Passing by Seamus
Seamus seemed to judge that a festival day was a good time to work. Well, performers had their own ideas about fun. She dropped him a gold piece and a wink, hoping to seem like any other old passerby who simply appreciated his music.
Lunch and all hail Ameiko
Qetsiyah could have said which dish Ameiko prepared with a blindfold and a nose-plug. "Delicious as always, Ameiko. Congratulations! Though I think we're really the winners that we get to eat it!"
Gaming!
"I'll play you at knucklebones." She offered Meg. It was all in fun and Kizzy thought that if she won, she could buy Meg's wine for her, and if she lost, Meg would still share with her. She tossed the bones up high to gather the rest in one hand quickly enough to catch the other as it fell. Then she rolled.
Dex check to toss, scoop and catch bones: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Die faces: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 1) = 13
"Ha! I think that's a good roll, as they reckon things." A roll where all four die showed different faces was supposed to be named for the Goddess of Love. "Looks like I have Shelyn's favor today." She said to Meg with a grin.
Possible Tag for Kast
"Hey, isn't that Kast over there?" She stood up and waved, trying to attract his attention.

Before the speeches
Playing a festive hymn the locals call 'Lady Lucks dream'. Seamus gives a soft 'thank you' as a local parishioner drops a couple coppers into his hat. As he looks past the old man, he sees his three friends moving his direction from Junker's Way. Furrowing his brow as he continues to strum. 'How did I miss them? Hmm, maybe they came up Shell Street.' Mentally shrugging, he smiles and nodding as the three pass by, catching Kizzy's wink as she drops a coin. As they pass, Seamus looks in the hat, then toward his friends. 'A gold coin? What is she thinking?' As he continues playing before the speeches several people stop for a few seconds to enjoy the music. When an old lady goes to put money in the hat, she see's the gold coin and looks up at Seamus and snorts. Rolling his eyes he continues to play until the Mayor takes the stage and tosses the thunderstone. 'Oh thank the gods.' Relieved, Seamus scoops the coins out of his hat, tucking the coppers in his bandolier, he palms the gold coin. 'What was she thinking.'
As the speeches go on
Moving up beside his new friends, he gives Izomandakus a friendly nudge with his elbow, asking "How's mom and your sister? I stuck my head in and didn't see you, so I came up here." as he talks to Izomandakus he reaches over and tries to place the palmed coin in Kizzy's pouch. Just as she shifts, knocking the coin out of his hand. 'Blast,' embarrassed he gives her a cheeky smile.
Rolling to put the coin back in her purse, since lifting a small object is a 20 I assume putting a small object back will be the same.
slight of hand: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Well darn, that is not what I hoped for, so edited post.
Seamus will happily whisper through all the speeches, afterwards he will get back to work
As soon as Father Abstalar finishes the prayer, Seamus tips his hat to his friends, "Gotta make hay while the sun shines right." He moves quickly, bounding up the few steps to the temporary platform. He lays his hat on the edge of the platform and begins to play a second hymn. called the butterfly.
unless forced from the stage
Transitioning from the hymn into a popular Varisian jig, Seamus continues playing. Shifting from one happy sounding tune to another, occasionally asking those who put tips in his hat if they have a request. After a bit, As the folks finish eating and begin to move about more, seeing his audience disperse, Seamus jumps off of the stage collecting his hat and coins.
Shifting his lute under his left arm, Knowing Ameiko's dish would be gone, Seamus moves to the table that had been serving Hagfish’s lobster chowder. 'Good some's left.' Getting a bowl full of chowder, he nods politely to the server, and goes looking for his friends. Finding Meg and Kizzy finishing rolling bones, he approaches and watches, eating the chowder.

Arriving a while after noon in the day, Kast eagerly limps into the Market Square. While he anxious to hear speeches, he's more interested in the free lunch when they are completed. Speeches are great and all, but free food, is free piddlespotting food.

GM Euan - Rise
Izomandakus offers the guests an insiders look at some of the personalities and history of Sandpoint during the speeches. Lunch is a triumph, no matter who’s dish you enjoy, and Kast is at the front of the line as planned, his relief coming early. Sure, Ameiko’s is the most balanced, a complete package really. But the venison is well aged, and the lobster is fresh and the sauce delicate and smooth!
Speaking of smooth, Seamus isn’t as he tries to replace Kizzy’s coin. But he does well on the edge of the stage, so much so in fact that the poet from last night takes the other side and rumbles through a well paced presentation of his own to a few coins of his own. He does his best to project away from Seamus, and so they both enjoy the advantages of the stage without conflict.
There isn’t just one place in town where there’s gambling, and there are games of knucklebones throughout if you look hard enough. So it’s not difficult for Meg to find a game, and in the way of festivals and gambling, she is invited to join in the fun! Kizzy also plays and throws down the gauntlet with a smooth opener while Izomandakus has rather less luck as a few coppers change hands along with good natured laughter.
The afternoon continues apace, the hours passing quickly as they do during such joyous times. You enjoy the other food vendors, once lunch has subsided a bit, with sweets, candied fruits, raindrop cakes (gelatin served with roasted powdered soybean and brown sugar syrup) - even savories such as roasted garlic, various nuts some roasted some not and, of course, cheeses of all varieties!
Performers such as Seamus move through the town, occasionally taking up a street corner, but just as often drifting through the crowds, hunting their own niches. While walking, you watched a musician encounter a mime and they do a little impromptu set together to smiles all around. Always remember that old adage, Mime is Money!
The laughter and joy of the celebration rises above the city like late summer heat. Everyone seems to be jubilant, and you have a hard time remembering when you had so much fun around such pleasant people. Happiness can be contagious, and right now, everyone is infected.
Another round, if you wish, prior to the Swallowtail release around 4pm.

When Cyrdak Drokkus reminds everyone about The Harpy's Curse, he comments to Kizzy "Are you still willing to accompany me Kizzy? Maybe we can have a look and get a couple of tickets just now"
Whoops, missed this bit in my replies before.
Qetsiyah nodded, "Sure! We probably ought to get them soon before they sell out. Meg, what do you think? Want to see a play?" Though she had little talent for the fine arts herself, she was no philistine. In fact, she perhaps held them in even higher regard as she knew first hand how difficult such things were to master.Seamus, the fumbled pocket-drop
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Kizzy bumps into something and turns to notice Seamus standing close enough to be her shadow. Then the thump of the coin bouncing off her boot drew her attention and she narrowed her dark eyes suspiciously. "What in the hells?" Then she noticed which coin it was and her scowl deepened as she turned the full force of it on the half-elf, placing her hands on her hips . "Isn't that the tip I gave you?" She might have mistaken him for pulling gold out of her pouch except for that particular coin was the only one like it she'd had in her purse. It was weight that really counted with coin, and it was a heavier mark than any she'd seen. Also it had a strange script she did not know with the image of a woman with a curved bright flame hovering above her outstretched palm.
"What's the problem, Seamus? My gold's not good enough for you? You were happy enough to drink on it last night." She didn't understand this nonsense. He'd spend the festival playing for coin and then returned custom from friends? She was clearly puzzled and frankly, a little offended.
Seamus Passeri
With Kizzy early in t he speach.'
'awwww, crap...' Seeing the heavy gold mark hit her boot and roll onto the cobble stones. 'Crap, crap, crap.' Looking very sheepish when she glares at him, 'How do I explain....drink on it last night?' Looking up at his friend. "Hey I bought the second bottle. You bought the first bottle with the plums in it at the Rusty Dragon, I bought the second bottle at Cracktooth's Tavern right before I went to play." He gestures at Meg, "It's not my fault if you didn't get any of it."
Picking the coin up and attempting to hand it to Kizzy. "I don't need charity. You put a gold coin in my hat because I'm your friend, or because you pity me or whatever. Not because I play well or played a song that moved you or played a song you requested." He waives towards where the food was at. "You weren't throwing money at Ameiko last night and she's ten times the performer I am." Then gestures at the other performers around the square. "And your not tipping like that to anyone else."
Holding the coin out, insisting she take it. "I pay my own way. You know the Varisian culture, a gift here, a favor there. All of a sudden your in someone's debt and they always come calling. I'll have none of it. I'm your friend." Trying to smile. "I'm not saying you mean it that way, but I need to earn it, if not I feel like I'm in your debt."
He shrugs. "Besides, if I leave that coin in my hat no one will tip the rest of the day. They figure I put it in to get folks to tip more or figure I've got enough already."
Will post more later about other stuff, but wanted to put up a responce to Kizzy.

First round
Meg is rather impressed by Kizzy's skill and luck. She assumed the heavy armor suggested more strength than fine motor control, but she was obviously wrong. She herself tosses the bones with more enthusiasm than control.
Dex Check to Toss, Scoop, and Catch Bones: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dice Faces: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 2) = 14
"Shelyn indeed favors you today, Kizzy!"
Now
Meg remains completely unphased by the exchange. Convincing people to calm down is easier when she plays herself off as unbothered and confident. She has always been a peacemaker, so she takes up the charge with little thought. "I personally am more of Kizzy's mind when it comes to freely giving coin, but I also understand and appreciate Seamus's point of view. We are all friends here, darlings. We simply have different ideas of charity and the exchange of wealth. Everyone's intentions are good, even if our cultural backgrounds are different."
Izomandakus
Izomandakus is clearly delighted by how Kizzy enjoys the breakfast at Sandpoint Savories. When later Seamus excuses himself he does tell him that "Well, you lost discovering what might be Kizzy actual weakness. Man she loves sugar. I feared I would have not enough tarts for her" he giggles softly.
When the man asks about his family his smile turn more serious though "They are fine and we had a very happy reencounter, but you know what? They made my room into a gym and a doll museum apparently... I had to sleep in the floor tonight! Can you believe it?" He then claps enthusiastically at Seamus the 'butterfly' song display "You are the best my friend just give us another!"
In between game and game, he takes Kizzy and goes to the theater to get some tickets "Doesn't matter, if Meg does not want we can still get a couple for us!"
When he gets out of getting the tickets and he finds Kizzy and Seamus discussing he cannot avoid approaching and placing himself in between both of them "What's the problem with the coin. If you do not want it I can have it." the boy laughs trying to ease up the tense scene " Here, you have a ticket for the Harpy in exchange Seamus!"

Kizzy looked incredulous, "Charity? Pity?! You can read minds now can you? You don't understand anything. Ameiko owns the place, every person in that room was putting coin in her tiller, one way or another, including me. But you're right, I didn't tip you last night or on the trail, so I figured it was due. And you... " She clamped her teeth shut around what she had nearly said. How was she supposed to explain how much he had already given her? Word of her mother and the music that filled in the silences where homesickness threatened to unravel within her. Maybe such things seemed worthless to him, but they were infinitely valuable to her.
She wanted to argue that like pulls like and that supplementing a take with a touch of gold would encourage people to reach for silver at least, so as not to seem too stingy. But maybe that worked better in a bigger city. Finally she grumbled under her breath in Halfling and stalked away, leaving her friends to decide the fate of the odd coin.

What good fun. So the continuity fairies insisted I remind everyone, he tried to unpick Kizzy's pocket at the beginning of the speach, so time is limited... if we want to continue discussing it a little later after everyone eats or something....
'Don't understand anything? Stubborn woman, I understand a lot!' Watching his friend storm off while the speeches continue, he looks at Meg and hisses."The only persons definition of charity or a debt I care about is my own." Slapping the coin into Izomandakus' hand, he continues rather sarcastically. "Take the blasted coin. and like I said last night, I can't go to the play because I'm working."
Realizing the priest was about to pray, ending the speeches, He begins to move away from his friends. "Now you'll have to excuse me, I have to earn some coin."
Izomandakus
"Ei Kizzy! The ticket!" Izomandakus holds the ticket in his hand while the woman leaves, then the coin in the other hand when Seamus just basically leaves in the other direction "Ei! We see us for the butterflies, do we Seamus?"
The boy looks confused at the woman remaining "Do you understand anything Meg?"
Shrugging, Izomandakus approaches one of the stalls having tinkers and points to an skillfully crafted horn "I want this. And take this coin. You better have it"
With the coin erased from sight, the boy walks around the stalls getting some twine, a flint and steel, a beautiful silken rope and some more trinkets along with an apple and another slice of cheese. When she is satisfied with everything he heads towards the dais once more, awaiting the butterflies moment of the day.

Smiling, he goes to get a drink. He doesn't drink often, but today may be a special day, and he will.
Mead! I finally get to enjoy the festival...and a chance to rest my leg. And mead! Walking toward the Cathedral on this way to the food, Kast spies Seamus. Is he coming or going?
"Splendid looking day, Seamus, wouldn't you say?" Kast says with a smile before moving on.
Kast loves living in Sandpoint, in his heart he knows that he will stagnate here. But these people have been true friends for all my life and the thought of leaving causes him a bit of pain.

Meg takes Seamus’s hiss in stride. It takes far more than a little tiff get her on her hackles. ”Nobody is asking you to change, darling. We all just have our own ways and there is nothing wrong with that. I was merely suggesting that we all remember the importance of a gracious spirit.”
Meg smiles and shrugs at Izo’s confusion about the spat. ”A disagreement borne of different backgrounds. It is nothing to worry yourself about, Izo.” She considers whether she wants to take up Izo’s offer of the play. She has never been particularly fond of plays, as indicated earlier, even the rowdier types. Too much passive observance and not enough doing something. She already has spent enough of her life doing nothing but finding a good place to stand and looking pretty. ”I think I will have to pass on the play this time. My sincerest apologies, but I feel the spirit of celebration taking me elsewhere.” There is something so electrically exciting about getting to turn down an event simply because she does not want to go.
She follows after Seamus instead, catching up to him right around the time Kast does. She waves with her usual gregarious grin. ”Hello, darlings! Oh, off to get mead? How delightful! I shall have to get some myself. There’s a sour mead that I have been curious about ever since I saw it advertised. You have not had it yet, Kast, have you, darling?.” She pats Seamus’s shoulder. ”I needed to get away from the play before I got dragged along. I simply cannot stand having to sit and watch something that long if I can help it.”

Seamus and Kizzy don’t quite work out their differences, though Meg and Izomandakus join in helpfully, each in their own way.
Kizzy and Izomandakus head down to the Sandpoint Theater to get tickets. The cheap seats are just a few copper, while you can get a private booth for a platinum or two, depending on availability. With the tickets comes a backstage tour, which itself is worth the price of admission. You see the green room, the stars dressing room, the orchestra pit, where the trap door leads - everything! Quite fascinating all that goes on to make the play work.
It’s been a few hours of revelry now, and a folks are feeling festive. Father Zantus and his acolytes quietly wheel a large covered wagon from a shed near the church into the main square with the good Father in the yoke and the acolytes straining to push. But they don’t stop there! They head down Junker’s Way and south onto Main Street, going all the way to the end and on southeast into the Sandpoint Market. All the way they pick up more and more carousers and cheering crowds as everyone follows the wagon, many pushing to speed it up - and lighten the load of the straining priest and his helpers.
They turn southeast down Market Street to north on River Street which curves into Crab Street and links up to High Street before coming again into the Church Square. They drag/push the wagon, now being followed by the whole town in front of the speakers platform. There the good Father climbs onto the make-shift stage as his acolytes distribute themselves around the wagon and begin fidgeting with the cover. Father Zantus recounts the short parable of how Desna first fell to earth and was nursed back to health by a blind child, whom she transformed into an immortal butterfly as a reward for her aid before a hushed crowd.
He then prays, projecting loudly to be heard far and wide, but he does not shout, ”O Mistress of stars, Mistress of changing fortunes, set aside Your silvery bolts that change the stars and take Your ease of Love with me. You are the Goddess of dreams! You are the Goddess of all delights! Blessed Be and show me thy awakened path. I aim to follow your good fortunes like a shooting star!”
… and with that, his acolytes release the cover and a thousand children of Desna - a furious storm of swallowtail butterflies - swarm into the air in a spiraling riot of color to a great cheer from the crowd. Father Zantus throws another thunderstone to accentuate the moment!
Throughout the rest of the evening, chidden futilely chase the butterflies, never quite quick enough to catch them, though more than a few land on people throughout the town - a sign of good luck! In fact, each of you find, over the course of the next hour or so, a butterfly will land upon your shoulder, or arm, or even head, as you continue to enjoy yourselves. You gain Desna’s Blessing.
- - -
The Market Square is once again full of heavier food from the various establishments throughout town - though this time they charge a modest fee to help cover their costs. Drink too begins to flow more freely, though most don’t get drunk - the highpoint of the day is yet ahead, and few townspeople want to be so inebriated as to miss it!
You have a few hours until sunset (at 7:45pm today). Sunset is when Father Zantus will consecrate the church, reciting the Prayer of First Dreaming. This is also the pinnacle of the day’s celebration and everyone in town is eagerly looking forward to it!
Izomandakus
Izomandakus is well interested in the tour to the theater. Although the arts are fun, he is the most fascinated at equal parts by the gears, pulleys and other machinery helping bring the scenes into life, and the actresses getting ready at the dressing room. Despite he blushes at the last ones, unable to speak much, he is quite bold asking questions about how the former ones work.
It was definitely a fun and spirited visit.
When heading back to the street the wagons are already entering Market Square. Izomandakus follows them all the way along Crab Street and around, back to the church. The boy observes with a smile the release of the butterflies "I used to run in the middle of them with my friends when I was a child." One of the butterflies lands on Pachemu's nose, and Izomandakus kneels to take it with joy "Look at what we found here! I heard there are some butterflies the size of a person far in the northern countries like Numeria" he observes the creature amused and raises his hand up letting it fly.
After a few more hours of celebration the boy picks up some more food, seasoned potatoes, and heads to the docks to watch the ships coming and going and rest a bit from the excited atmosphere. There he buys some sea bream to accompany the potatoes and enjoys the dwindling light eating and splashing the water with bare feet, relaxing until the sunset arrives.
On Sunset, he heads back to Sandpoint Savories, inquiries if his mother or Aneka require something, then, he takes the fireworks he has been crafting for the occasion and leaves for the Church Square closely followed by Pachemu "I hope Kizzy, Meg and Seamus come also to the consecration. I want to show them what I crafted!" the pig oinks and jumps happily in response clearly excited too by the prospects.

preamble?
'Should I just walk up and stand there?' Having finished playing for a moment and gotten something to eat, Seamus watches Meg and Kizzy roll the bones. 'Or maybe I should say something. But what? 'Hey how's it going?'... well that's just stupid.' Taking a bite of the chowder. 'Maybe just ask, 'So who's winning?' Shaking his head to himself. 'Maybe I should try and be funny. 'How's it rolling?' or slutty funny, 'So who you going to roll next?' Shaking his head at himself 'No that wouldn't be good, unless I want to get punched.' Taking another bite of the chowder. 'I don't want her mad at me. I know Meg and Izomandakus just wanted to help, but I don't want ...' he notices Izomandakus moving towards the women just as Kast reveals himself from the crowd, coming toward Seamus.
with Kast and Meg
Finishing the last bite of Chowder, Seamus nods, "Yes a beautiful day indeed," He smiles patting the few coins in the bandolier. "Folks are being generous, hopefully I can earn a little more later." he smiles, setting the bowl down on a handy table. "So where are you off to Kast?"
'Darlings .... mead ...' smiling to himself, 'Why am I not surprised.' Turning as Meg announces her presence with a conversation about alcohol, Seamus looks from Kast to Meg and shrugs, "Why not, I heard Ameiko has an early winterdrop mead." As the head over towards where the mead was being served. Seamus slows down, drawing his lute out, and begins to play a Chelaxian waltz.. The three four timing matching Kast's shuffling gate and it would appear to the un-studious eye that he was merely moving to the music.
plenty of discussion here to be had, but afterwards, Seamus will keep his seat, throw the hat on the ground and play for more coins until the release of the butterflies.
After the pint of mead and the pleasant conversation with his friends, Seamus places the empty mug under his seat. Dropping his hat on the ground he kicks it over to the left a little and begins to play his Lute. As the crowd leading the 'butterfly wagon approaches, he changes his tune to an upbeat hymn the followers of Desna dance to. When the father climbs the make-shift stage to tell his parable, out of respect, Seamus stops playing, taking the time to collect the few coins from his hat. Hat in hand he listens to the parable and bows his head when Father Zantus prays. Nodding with the pray, 'Yes Desna's blessing for those who deserve it.' He smiles to himself. 'And Calistia's sting to those who deserve it as well.'
When the butterflies are released, he drops his hat back on the ground, kicking it to the left and begins to play the earlier hymn. After a few moments a butterfly lands on the headstock of his lute. Giving it a smile; "Well aren't you just beautiful, maybe I should write my own song about a butterfly." His smile shifts a little more to a smirk; "Of course the second verse would have to be about a wasp."
As the crowd settles down and the butterflies begin to fly away, Seamus' stomach growls. 'More food is out, of course this time it isn't free.' Picking up his hat, he counts the few coins, placing them in his bandolier. Putting the hat back on his head he stands up and begins to look for his friends in the crowd.
Seeing Izomandakus coming up Junkers Way into the courtyard, he waives and calls out "Hey Izomandakus wha'cha got there?"

Qetsiyah was almost more excited for the tour of the Theatre than she was the play. She could literally walk in Simza's footsteps here, and though it was many years ago, she felt closer to her in such places. Plus it was a good distraction from her argument with Seamus.
Kizzy had always had a quicksilver temper. Quick to anger, but also swift to let things go. She still didn't understand why Seamus would rather have coppers thrown to him than gold, but he was welcome to them if he was so keen. She looked down and realized she had crossed her arms in consternation again just thinking of it and willfully unfolded her arms to let them hang by her sides. Welcome to them! She reminded herself. He could fill his pack with pennies til he hunches over from the weight and I won't say a single word! Her arms tried to cross again so she gave them something to do.
She pulled out an old, crinkled playbill from her pocket and smoothed it out for Izomandakus to see. Upon it, the image of a stunningly beautiful Varisian performer danced and spun with brightly colored scarves swirling around her. Her face forever frozen in an expression of laughter and joy as golden haired halflings leaped and tumbled about her, dressed like fey. "The play was called The Harrowing of the Fey Queen, Simza played the Harrow reader and that's Sasha there as the Fey Queen." Looking at the images helped calm her down and soon she was no longer working at not seeming angry and truly relaxed.
Her mother had revered Desna, and so Kizzy held very still once one of the butterflies had landed on her shoulder, perched on the hanging ends of the scarlet scarf she wore in her hair. Silently, she prayed it would carry her fond wishes to Simza's spirit in Elysium.
She did come to the Consecration ceremony, and while she was somewhat subdued from her usual exuberance, she did not seem angry at all anymore.

Kast smiles, holding up his now empty mead mug. ”I’ve eaten. I’ve had a drink, I don’t need much more,” Kast replies. ”Gunna go get see some butterflies. I’ve always loved that. They are perfect.”
Kast eventually shuffles to the ceremony, leaning on his longspear and listening to the speech. He is delighted.
This day has been perfect.

Since it is the main event, Meg does watch Father Zantus. The story he tells makes her sad more than anything. Eudora and Euphemia would have loved it. If only they were turned into butterflies instead of....
She clenches her jaw and her fists. She could understand why he hated her, but why do that to the children? Children, by all the Gods. His own children. She thought that someone that callous would at least have some pride in his children’s bloodline. His bloody-handed villainy apparently has no such compunctions, though. If only they had been born to any other parents, people who had been worthy of them, both heart and deed.
Meg does her best to focus on the blessing instead of her own depressing thoughts, but it just does not sustain her interest. She honestly begins to feel drowsy as the Father keeps doing his religion thing, but she keeps up her facade of cheer. Light of the Starstone, at least Cayden keeps his prayers brief and clear. None of this “O Goddess, thy thee thoust blessest thisseth houseth” pretentiousness. Keep it simple and clear and leave out the excess flattery.
As she watches the butterflies alight, she tries to imagine that two of them are named Eudora and Euphemia. Her thoughts are just too heavy, though.

"She truly looks beautiful" Izomandakus smooths the playbill with his right skinny hand, it is thin and delicate but has many scratches from his hard work at Magnimar's Golemworks "Is she your mom? She seems to enjoy a lot what she was doing. Does she not perform nowadays?"
Back to the square with Saemus
"Oh, look, I crafted some fireworks for the festival. I decided to save them for the consecration ceremony as they will look much prettier during the night. If you come to the church you will be able to see it in action" Izomandakus smiles and shows the devices to the man, he knows the ones like Saemus often prefer freedom over ordered rites provided by official religion but he was hopeful to win his interest anyway "Look at that, it seems you filled your pouch. Sandpoint really likes your tune man!"
The boy looks for the main dais and tries to get a good position for Pachemu and himself, where they can follow properly the whole ceremony.

As the afternoon wears on, and the sun begins to get low in the western sky, the whole town slowly gravitates toward the Church Square, like geese flying north for the winter - a few stragglers aside. Very few. You follow along with the crowds as it’s coming to be time for the Consecration of the Cathedral - the highpoint of the celebration! You’ll note that most have a flagon, glass, or bottle - ready to toast their new Cathedral.
You also reach the Church Square which is now packed with people, their eyes sparkling in the light of torches being lit throughout the area, though there’s still plenty of light yet. Breathless anticipation hangs on the air as everyone looks for Father Zantus…
Please take a moment and place yourselves where you’d like to be on the map. I’m not saying anything’s about to happen or anything… I just want to know where you are for no particular reason. Yeah, that’s it.
Seamus Passeri
'Fireworks?' Raising an eyebrow at his friend. Seamus shifts his lute under his left arm. "I didn't know you dabbled in fireworks." he smiles, "I will be in the corner of the churches square, near the jewelry store. I should be able to see them from there." Nodding as his friend compliments the song. "Yes several people commented that I was almost professional." He continues moving toward the shop, unslinging his lute to play until the speeches start again.
Izomandakus
"Yes, it was part of the alchemy studies we had to curse at the Golemworks. I thought the church inauguration deserved some grandeur on its inauguration day" the boy nods to Seamus and smiles in anticipation of the memorable night "I will look after you once the ceremony finishes. Maybe you can show me about your show at the Cracktooth tonight. Mom probably would not mind if I stay awake until late today"
Izomandakus lights one torch and secures one of his two star candle fireworks on the ground, ready to use. He is happy to show off his creation to anyone assembled nearby while Pachemu smells the clearly custom made device. For no particular reason, he does this at the northern edge of the dais.
"Look, the Father!" when Father Zantus makes his appearance the boy whistles and waves the torch alight in anticipation of the grand inauguration moment of the cathedral "Go Sandpoint go!"
GM Euan - Rise
A sharp retort, like the crack of distant thunder, slices through the excited crowd as the sun’s setting rays paint the western sky bright autumnal colors. A stray dog that has crawled under a nearby wagon to sleep starts awake, and the buzz of dozens of conversations quickly hush as all heads turn toward the central podium, where a beaming Father Zantus has taken the stage and thrown yet another thunderstone for attention though it was hardly necessary.
He clears his throat, takes a breath to speak, and suddenly a woman’s scream slices through the air. A few moments later, another scream rises, then another. Beyond them, a sudden surge of strange new voices rises - high-pitched, tittering shrieks that sound not quite human! The crowd parts and something low to the ground races by, giggling with disturbing glee as the stray dog gives a pained yelp and then collapses with a gurgle, its throat cut open from ear to ear. As blood pools around its head, the raucous sound of a strange song begins, chanted from shrill, scratchy voices seemingly from everywhere - including from the goblin hovering over the dog (image)!
”Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins cut and goblins fight!”

You can see a handful of goblins on the north side of the square as indicated on the map. The crowd is panicking and scattering though no one really knows where to go so everyone is bumping into everyone else. Suffice to say, the entire square is difficult terrain and provides cover unless you’re within 15’ of a goblin as folks are naturally starting by fleeing the little blighters.

Looking down at his hat, 'Ok a few more coins...' hearing the scream, he looks around 'What the?' Ignoring the hat, he instinctively reaches into his bandolier drawing a dagger. 'Goblins?'
Hearing the dog yelp Seamus turns, 'Blast!' seeing the goblin to his left very close to Meg. He starts to fight his way through the panicking crowd, calling to his friends. "Meg! Look out behind you!"

Meg spins about at Seamus's warning, just in time to watch the goblin's sorry attempt at blinding her. She draws her rapier with less grace than she would like. She stares down the goblin, that slight calming smile coming across her face. The goblin begins to feel calm, pliable. His senses feel tuned up, but uncontrolled, as if his skin is irritated. She steps forward into a lunge, aiming right for that big balloon head.

Meg lunge is excellent (though not a crit) and she punctures the cheek of the cheeky goblin, but does not drop him. Kizzy with rather less finesse, and more force, slams down upon the goblin screaming on the cart and crushes his skull, dropping him. Izomandakus launches fireworks at the goblins, making them very excited to try that out on their own, though he misses. Pachemu is too pretty to be intimidating, and not even the goblins are afraid of her. Kast limps forward, as the populous parts for his plea, having generally much respect for the watch. Seamus launches a dagger at red, and though also not a crit, it lands solidly, dropping the beast into the dirt.

Jerking his leg out of the way as the goblin slashes at him, Seamus looks at the boy and growls. "Boy get out of here before I turn you over my knee!" Turning just in time to see Meg on one side kill a fleeing goblin and Kizzy on the other attacking the goblin; he notices Kast chasing the goblin that was chanting.
Moving quickly he calls back. "I assume you two can handle the one behind the wagon. I'll help Kast." Moving past the flaming horse, he skids to a stop near the small tent and thrusts his shortsword at the goblin.
