of course i crit with a paper weapon...lol
Go get'em, Droogi!
GM Fuzzfoot |
Raynard drops another inmate as Pai flies around, shooting electricity into the air.
Droogi does indeed shed his inmate, with the green shirt quickly turning crimson. Lini steps forward and hits orange twice, but doesn't drop him.

Tiny Pebble |
Tiny Pebble take another swing at the lunatic (Red).
Slam,Earth Mastery: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25
Damage,Earth Mastery: 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10
(I am assuming that this is enough damage to take down the lunatic otherwise he stays put after his attack.)
Tiny Pebble then moves to protect his master.
Igor Ivantoe |
Igor decides to take the high ground moving away from the doors in the room. He prepares to unload another missile at any active threat.
Prepared Action, Force Missile: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
(If Red is not down then he unloads on Red otherwise he will wait for an enemy to enter the room.)
Pai Shecks |
I'm assuming Pebble and Igor finish off Red.
Now that the room is cleared, Pai flies through the doorway to help with the 4 big problems, and sees the orderlies with the super strange hats from her vantage point above Lini. As demented and sadistic as this place is, she is briefly on the fence about whether these are good guys or bad guys. Then she remembers: If they were good guys, they'd've stopped all the bad stuff here so the patients wouldn't all be this bad. Well, maybe I give them a chance to prove it one way or another. Throwing up her hands, she shouts: "Wait! Hold it! We've been trying to find someone in charge! Where've you guys been?! What's going on here?!" Now, what will they do?
GM Fuzzfoot |
You are correct that yellow and red are destroyed.
The new guys are clearly just as hostile.
Nectanebo the Vulture |
Nectanebo peeks out the doorway to see who, or what, is coming - when he does, even he appears a bit disturbed by what he sees.
"NEVER trust an enforcer of any kind who appears to need more restraining than those whom they are charged with restraining," He curtly advises Pai before making his way out the other door.
He takes a moment to concentrate on his sword, which begins to shimmer and vibrate with power (lead blades).
His servitor tries to finish off the remaining patient(?).

GM Fuzzfoot |
The zombie rips apart the remaining inmate, who barely even seems to notice that he is dead, his face stuck in an insane scream despite no longer being powered by life.

Hovering near the ceiling, Pai whines: "Ohhh! I hate this!" All this killing people, but we have to, but we shouldn't have to, but we have to... Against the background circular arguments in her head, she scrunches up her face and sends a blast of electrical energy at the orderly with the pink splatter on his bizarre cage-helmet.

Igor Ivantoe |
Igor allows the more martially inclined characters to mop up. He stays put while keeping his guard up.
(Full Defence)
Tiny Pebble |
The faithful elemental stays put guarding his master.
He readies an attack should an opponent come into range. That seems so unlikely that I am not including any rolls. :)
@GM Fuzzfoot - Was 10 points of damage from Tiny Pebble enough to put down Red? I am tracking my usage of Force Missile so I would like to know.
GM Fuzzfoot |
@Igor - yes it was. So You can redirect your missile or hold on to it.
The orderlies are made of sterner stuff than the lunatics, so Green takes Raynard's blow in stride, and swings back. Raynard's armor absorbs the blow.

Pink likewise tries to stand up and attack (drawing an AoO from the cat).

@GM Fuzzfoot- He will keep his Force Missile then. A touch of self-restraint is always a good quality in a low level wizard. :)

Tiny Pebble guards his master and is ready to club any of the crazies that may slip by the others.

Pai Shecks |
Wow! The pink orderly must have electrical resistance or something. Pai rolled 19 damage on him last round and Droogi got him as well, but he only has a total of 18 damage.
The scrunched up expression on Pai's face is slowly morphing from concerned regret to indignant contempt as the orderlies don't even *bother* to ask questions before attacking. It's becoming more and more clear to her that they're *bad guys*. Her blast of electricity at Pink comes with more conviction this time.
Electric blast vs. Touch AC: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 3 = 293d6 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 2 + 5 = 19
Includes Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, and Elemental Overflow
Raynard Milton |
GM, did I miss with 27 to hit? If I am not then Green has 16 points of damage
Raynard strikes the Green 3rd time.
+1 Scimitar cold iron: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Borax Bulan |
Borax moves out into the hallway drawing his cane sword, protecting Nectanebo's back, but taking a defensive stance.
Nectanebo the Vulture |
Nectanebo shows up behind the orderly to the north, the gaoler now very much the prisoner...
Guidingstar, lead blades, flank: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10
...and takes what proves a half-hearted swing.
Meanwhile, his grim companion wanders about the complex guided by unknowable senses...double-move, original position marked just in case what it did shouldn't have been doable.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Well if you all can do better at record keeping than me, then... hmm, it seems you CAN do better! I really don't know what I was doing here. Actually, it looks like I just missed Pai's electrical attack. It wasn't enough to put the man down, though, but Droogmi's followup for 8 pts did. So Pink died last round. Therefore, the AoO was irrelevant. Assuming Purple was the cat's next target, he only got one attack in for 4 dmg. So Purple is up, pink is dead.
Now, to the other side, Green had 8 dmg, and I also seem to have missed Raynard's post completely (as you can see because he was still bold as well). So his first round 4 action was the 27, bringing Green to 16 dmg. But Raynards next attack won't be until round 5. You can keep the roll, but someone else may do him in before we get there. Although since we haven't heard from Nectanebo, let's skip him for now. Finishing round 4...
Pai electrocutes Purple (since Pink isn't a target any more), and fries him just enough that he falls to the floor, blubbering like a baby. He is at 0 hp.
Green takes a shot at Raynard. Close, but no cigar.
Club: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Raynard retaliates (fast forwarding to what I will call his Round 5 post) and strikes him down.
Combat over!
GM Fuzzfoot |
And look! While I took the time to write my last post, it seems Nectanebo DID show for round 4... but alas, the attack would have missed anyway, so we are still on track!
Now that you have crushed most of the people in this part of the asylum, you search the other rooms nearby quickly.
D8. North Entrance: This side entrance is locked.
D9. Examination Room: The room is empty.
D10. Storage: Extra furniture, restraints, and supplies for experiments are kept here.\
D12. Library: This room, smaller than area D7, has a much more focused theme—the books here are universally about ancient history, astrology and astronomy, portals, and other eldritch (but not necessarily forbidden) topics.
Pai Shecks |
Anyone need a chance to heal up before moving on, or are we good?
Glancing at the titles on the spines of the books in the D12 library, Pai remarks wryly: "Oh look. A not-purely-evil room. Great. Let's keep moving." She waits for the group to be ready before opening the door to the next area (sorta-pentagonal room northeast of D12).
Igor Ivantoe |
Igor sticks with Pai looking at the library. He has Tiny Pebble in tow of course. He eyes the books to see if any of them are of particular interest or value.
(Appraise of 20 on a take 10, Perception of 31 on a take 10)
He also sees if there is any magic in the room.
(Detect Magic)
"I think we should explore the locked room after perusing the library. There must be a good reason why it is locked."
Tiny Pebble |
Tiny Pebble gives Pai the thumbs up. He is clearly impressed with her elemental affinity to electricity.
Nectanebo the Vulture |
D9. Examination Room: The room is empty.
*How* empty? Are we talking "furnished but unoccupied", "Zen-chic", "they just built the place", or "whatever bizarre astral void they film the animated segments of Sesame Street in"?
After a moment's bemused peek into the examination room, Nectanebo eagerly joins Pai and Igor in the library (his own companion likewise in tow), where he takes a more hands-on approach.
Appraise to identify/recognize/evaluate art: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Knowledge (History) to identify/recognize/evaluate art: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24
Earth elementals don't/can't smoke nor drink, nor skeletons; I wonder what minions like ours do when they head out back on their work-breaks together?
grimdog73's pregen character |
:et's get this search over with...I gotta get back to see if I can get Droogi something for his tummy...poor fella...you did good, buddy. I'm gonna get you an extra bowl of milk when we're done here...sound good? Lini says as she ruffles the cat's ears and rubs his belly. He purrs excitedly.
Igor Ivantoe |
"We can rest after we clear out this Asylum. I am sure a bit of rest will set Droogami as right as rain."
"I can not help with his stomach but I can clean him up a bit."
(Dry-cleaned cat courtesy of Prestidigitation)
Resting overnight with Long Term Care automatically provided with Lini on a take 10 should heal up all of the cat's ability damage. :)
Pai Shecks |
Unless anyone objects, Pai opens the door leading east from D12.
Igor Ivantoe |
I believe that the door is locked but even if that is the case we can try to pick it open.
Nectanebo the Vulture |
"One moment, allow me...."
Disable Device: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
GM Fuzzfoot |
The door clicks open, and you see this is the head person (Crove's) office. A search around the place discovers little, although the room is well-appointed and the desk is quite ornate.
D14 is a small, but nice living quarters, and D15 is another library - probably Crove's personal library. The theme of the books is a focus on ancient cults and savage practices from around the world.
D13A is another stairwell down.
Igor Ivantoe |
Igor easily finds the hidden panel and the wand inside.
(Igor's take 10 on Perception is 31)
Does anyone want this wand?
"Ok, a few more rooms to clear on this level and then we can go downstairs. Is everyone ready?"
Pai Shecks |
"I'll hang on to the wand if no one else wants it." Pai pockets the wand and flies to the double doors that presumably lead back into the main hall, if her mental map of this place is correct. Hmm...Do I wanna spend time trying to use the wand when someone's attacking us, or do I just wanna blast 'em? ... Maybe some good pranks once we're done. I wonder if I could make someone pee their pants? Well, definitely not one of these guys. Maybe on some random bully in the streets? Yeah. I'll keep my eye out when we're heading to the next place.
"Oh! Uh, ready. Let's get this over with." Once everyone's ready, she'll try the doors and if they're unlocked, she'll poke her head through and glance around.
If there's no one in sight, she'll stealthily fly east to check out D16.
Igor Ivantoe |
Igor chuckles and lets Pai take the wand curious to see what kind of silliness will ensue. He strongly suspects that she has no formal training in magic (or possibly anything) but he knows that fact will not deter her in the least.
The wizard and Tiny Pebble follow behind Pai providing support if necessary and keeping a sharp eye out for trouble.
(Take 10 on Perception is 31)
Pai cracks me up. I was really not expecting this. :)
