And so's Jahn...in fact he'd probably say that MOST of his life has been making mistakes. :P

Good luck.

Hi everyone! It's time to open recruitment for this adventure. Looking for one or two players to fill one or two slots. Pretty soon, the adventuring party will make it to Maedelon's Landing, and that's where you'll join up with them.

You will also be level 2, since they'll level up during their stay. You may choose any race from the core rulebook and the Alien Archives. Just don't choose something way out there. Classes are restricted to the Core Rulebook and the Character Operations Manual.

Two of my players ghosted, so I'm looking for replacements for them.

I'd be happy to join in! What's the party mix?

Howdy!

@EltonJ: how would you feel about an Uplifted Bear Blitz Soldier?

Basically, a genetically modified and uplifted combat creature, working as a Merc and possibly Bounty Hunter?

If that's too out there, a Vesk could fill the role easily enough.

Looks like you lost your mechanic. I'll look to see how far I made it on the yoski drone mechanic I was working on for the original recruitment.

When would you be looking for us to join in?

1 biohacker, 1 soldier who is also an ace pilot, 1 envoy.

That might work. It's crazy enough.

The way the fight is going, it looks like sometime mid next week. The group does need a mechanic.

Sergeant Henrion is an uplifted polar bear, a Soldier specializing in assault tactics and boarding operations. He was previously working with an independent mercenary company known as the Toughs, but has elected not to continue his contract at this time. He wears a weathered uniform in the Tough colors (red and blue) with the insignia and identifiers removed, and keeps a well-stocked backpack with equipment ready to go.

Henrion is armed with a carbon steel longsword at one hip, with a simple projectile pistol holstered opposite, and carries a laser rifle for longer range engagements. He also has a few grenades strapped to his war-belt, alongside the ammunition for his guns.

Large, imposing, and scarred, Henrion is the picture of a combat creation, with white fur and thick muscles, and hands the size of a human's head. He "speaks" with a soft, deep telepathic tone, and has a habit of chuckling at the end of his sentences when not in stressful situations, almost as if he is laughing most of the time.

This group looks very magic-light!

I'll put my name in the hat with a Mystic Xenodruid, either Phentomite or Astriapi.

Focused on spell-casting and with an animal companion to fight for him.

I'm picturing a traveler who likes to explore bizarre words, experienced in surviving in inhospitable situations.

He is large and imposing. How does he evade notice from the Aeon Throne?

Well, nobody had suggested a magic character during the first round.

Henrion doesn't really know what's going on with the Aeon Throne. He's more interested in signing on with a new crew and getting back into space, preferably somewhere he can acquire plenty of plunder and reward while fighting worthy does.

Okay. Sounds like someone who wants to go into space and fight the good fight -- in space!

I have a ghoran diplomat Solarian who's meant to be a caster/melee hybrid. They have a Solar shield in the form of a luminous shining wreath of leaves and branches.

Nice.

How much do we have to spend on equipment?

2,000 credits. See page 391 in the core rulebook.

Here’s Enslig, my mystic phentomite - a survival specialist, hired by colonies to verify if their initial planetary surveys are worth anything - what can be hunted and what has to be hunted, to ensure the colonists can thrive in their new world without damaging it more than necessary.

He travels through the wilderness with his pet ravenous drake Jagare as his only companion. Despite living like a hermit, he appreciates the encounters with other people who dare to go into the wild and usually grows very fond of the locals before moving on. And while not on an assignment, he’ll be in the nearest developed planet or system, writing reports, guides and papers on what he saw and met in those new worlds.

-----

I balanced his spells to take care of healing and also buff a little - most of the hard lifting in combat is done by his drake, at least until he level ups a bit more.

I think Viridian is ready.

character sheet

I hope I'm not too late to get a character ready. I've just finished the SF AP Signal of Screams and am looking to start in another SF campaign. I just noticed this posting and will want to look at the characters in the game to get a sense of what would be a good fit. I'll try to have something pulled together enough to post tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: I will work on either an operative, with engineering as high as possible to fill the gap left by the mechanic or a mechanic proper. If a caster is needed, I could run a technomancer with high engineering skill.

@psionichamster: I recently developed an uplifted bear soldier for another game, and it is an interesting challenge with lots of potential. I recommend the feat Tight Fit if it's available.

No, you're not too late.

So I'm imagining Viridian as being barely 2 years old. Their parent came to Nakondis believing the soil would be ideal for planting the Ghorus seed within them. Since then Viridian has been a part of the colony's community working in construction and providing light for the crops on cloudy days. Their love of Sunlight translates to a natural talent for the Solarian's powers.

Yeah. Sounds like you have a solid concept there.

I have a character worked out except for purchasing gear and background. The character is a male Pahtra Operative. Theme is Roboticist. Operative Specialty is Gadgeteer. Opperative Exploit is Trap Spotter. He is a skill monkey with his highest being Acrobatics +10, Computers +11 (2 ranks), Engineering +10 (2 ranks), Profession (robot R&D), Sleight of Hand +10, and Stealth +9. He has at least 1 rank in every skill that requires training, so he can attempt any skill check. During starship combat, he can be the engineer, science officer, or backup gunner.

Will work with the GM to develop back story on a connection to Cedona, if needed. I expect he was hired to do some robotics development to aid the colonists and so he was on the planet when the Azlanti invaded. He could know Cedona from his interactions on the colony.

Personality is TBD, but I'm thinking he is an extrovert with a lot of self-confidence, with a lust for adventure. I haven't got a name yet.

I have the profile worked out except for gear and melee/ranged stats, but those won't take long, so I'll do those if selected to play.

Right.

I'll be making my new selections tomorrow.

The weekend didn't go as planned and I don't think I'll be able to finish my character tonight. It looks like you have a few good submissions, including one to fill in for the departed mechanic I was looking to fill, so I'm going to pass. Good gaming.

I had some time this afternoon, so I created the alias for the character I'd like to nominate for a spot in the roster. I haven't worked out background/appearance, etc. but I'm developing some ideas.

Looks good! I'll make my choices soon.

Alright, the new players are:
-- Enslig, the Ragi and Duncan Sangster, Clebsch73

Would these two players make their debut on the discussion thread.
