Thomagar is taken aback briefly by the appearance of the angelic being, but recovers his wit quickly. He first gives the creature a deepest bow.

"Please, angelic one, please hold your fire, for we are not whom you likely think we are. As my shirren companion has said, we are of the Starfinder Society, here not as thieves but to reclaim what was rightfully ours." He pauses here briefly, then continues in a reassuring voice, "We are on the same side."

The creature hears you then their rage turns more desperate. "Well here Starfinders. See what is left. The infection as gone too far down there. " He motions to the shaft leading down below. "I could not stop it. The Card! The Card! And it will kill you, too"

The angel is not fully coherent and is still only marginally aware of your presence. He is like a soldier whose morale is broken. Either you need to snap him back to attention or demonstrate that you can face the hazards below. All you can see down the hatch is a ladder leading in to some brown organic based fog.

D'zyliit gazes past the figure towards the fog. Curious, is that the source of the environmental failure? Fog the intrusive element, or a symptom?

Diz would be curious to examine the fog, both out of curiosity and to demonstrate we know what we're talking about. You said 'Organic' fog: would that be Life Science? Physical?

D'zyliit's quick analysis of the cloud is some very volitle mold. Moving around down there would most likely cause it to combust. You get some ideas on how you could deal with it. You are about to inform the Angle as Viper-6 starts barking orders.

The Barachius snaps to attention breaking out its desperation, but hearing the details from D'zyliit's investigation goes in to a slight panic. "It is still here! He shoots at a console near the wall. Electronics and computers around the angel seems to start going haywire as well.

A Barachius Angel has a strong ties to technology. Part of their duty is to "protect technology from getting in to Evil control." The madness displayed seem related to failing that vow and other horrors that have affect their mind.

Viper-6's understanding of this issue, and with the report already generated calms the being down as they regain self control of their emotions. After a few moments of taking in their situation, the angel speaks. "You are Starfinders? I am Negator-XIII. Last of the squad left to defend this place. At least my memory tells me there was more. But it is corrupted"

I think I served as a guard—to protect this place. Or to protect others from it. You must access the Depot. The things it contains might be used for evil. That must not happen.

"My memories malfunctioned. Scrambled. Broken. I cannot recall. Something attacked. I do not know what. We lost our holy vision. We turned on one another. Many died.

He points to the shaft leading down: “The instability in the environment chamber caused the facility to enter lockdown. There are explosive spores and gases. The environment generators are malfunctioning, causing chain reactions. My protocols prohibit me from entering—given enough fire, even angels can be killed. It is maddening. You must help.

Given what Negator-XIII has said and D'yliit's quick examination. Once disturbed, you will have a limited amount of time before the spores go critical and explode. You may attempt the following:

* Acrobatics, Athletics, or Stealth (navigate spores)
* Engineering (discern path to controls)
* Life Science or Survival (understand spores’ behavior)

Multiple successes are needed so everyone can take part if they want

Here you may find these of use. The angel does an incatation and spawns a copy of some of his own equipment. A barachius helm AA p.13, holy sintered longsword, and holy corona laser rifle

Once ready, you head down. The short ladder leads to a chamber below, with hallways leading in multiple directions. A brown cloud chokes the area, and dozens of fist-sized mold spores drift through the cloud, blocking easy passage.

D'zyliit almost had it again when the strange aura of the place tricked his mind of the readings. But Officer Swizzers and Hermena, even with the distractions they face, make it to the terminal. With a few keystrokes a rush of air pulls all the fungus and mold out of the air as the stations normal filtration system is back online.

As the fog clears, the seals back to the room with Negator-XIII open back up and you also find scattered about : two mk 2 adaptive serums (AA), two bloodbrother serums (AA), a restoring rod (AR), and a suit of kyokor plating II (AA)
.

As you come of the hatch you see Negator-XIII relived. "That should end the lock down. You will still need to go to the commander's office and use the terminal to release the security doors."

Officer Swizzers sighs with relief as the lockdown is lifted just in time before a catastrophic result. "I thought being a Steward would prepare me for danger--but there's nothing like being a Starfinder!"

That was extremely stressful. D'zyliit thinks as the party climbs back out of the now cleared shaft. Apologies for my own analytical errors. Something about this place...I am not fully at my best.

He turns towards the angel. Negator-XIII: are you secure here? We have a transport parked just outside the entrance port. Or if you feel up for it, you could accompany us. Strength in numbers.
