Pleased with the progress they’re making with the mural, Panarug takes a step back for a short breather and lays his eyes on the crystal eye. Intrigued despite what happened to Faerinaa earlier, he moves towards it and starts examining it more closely.

I assume this research area has a set amount of time before it goes boom. Do we need a translator for each player working on the tablets? Klank does have +5 Religion. His only other option is perception vs the crystal eye.

Klank grows weary and Travis seems to be going around in circles. "I hope you're having better luck with that crystal Panarug. Panarug?" He double checks the orc hasn't zoned out like Faerinaa did earlier.

Crystal Eye perception seems like it might be a good Klank task, or running back for a translator maybe? We might be far enough along for that to be problematic though, there might not be a lot of time left when they get here.

While going through the examination of the mural, Faerinaa notes the hidden seams Panarug points out. She begins to run her fingers across them, tapping at the wall at certain spots and listening to the sound.
"Hm, interesting. I think maybe if I tap this here...yes...hm. Ok..."

Faerinaa tries to open the hidden door.

Panarug stares into the ocularity. He is beset by dozens of visions of past and future but endures it well. He struggles to make sense of what he has seen--including a delicate hand pressing a glyph followed by foreboding darkness--and scribbles down his notes. Travis does, indeed, go around in circles while Vixnax translates. Klank adjusts the stone tablets, though he is having a hard time moving them fast enough to be of any use.

Meanwhile, Faerinaa raises a hand and presses a glyph that she finds on the mural wall. However, nothing happens.

Faerinaa:

You hear a faint voice on the other side of the wall crying out.

Trying to open the secret door is only a short activity, so you can do something else or keep trying this hour.

This has made me realize I apparently forgot to set Faerinaa's languages during character creation, but it wouldn't be any of those; I think Common, Elvish and Goblin fit best.

"Hey everyone, I think there's something talking back here behind the door when I pressed this Glyph, but I don't understand it. I'm kind of worried I might be about to unleash some sort of ancient evil here."

Faerinaa looks over the wall, door and the mural before turning back to the group. "Anyone here speak ancient...stuff? I think maybe we're going to need a translator here for this. Klank, would you be willing to run back for one? I'll keep at the mural until we know what that voice is saying."

Faerinaa will continue to examine the mural, looking for any additional insight into the situation.

Olyse is also beset by visions, but they come so fast that she cannot make sense of them nor remember much as she makes her notes. However, her mind does withstand the onslaught without harm.

Feeling that he has made some headway with the crystal eye, he continues to examine it.

Looking at the time and the rush we're in vs decay, I think I'll just have Klank work on the crystal a bit. I'd hate to waste a round on Klank, and, to be honest, I'm not sure how thrilled Klank would be to run back for an hour at this hour of the day.

Deciding to give his body a rest, Klank heads over to the crystal eye with Panarug to test out his mind instead. "Let's see what a Dwarf can see." He stares into the beyond.

Vixnax can faintly hear a voice on the other side of the wall crying out in a variety of languages, including Draconic, "Help me! Get me out of here! I am trapped! Help!"

Meanwhile, Panarug braves the occularity again, gaining further insight into the cyclops history. Travis manages to get confused and is forced to start over (critical fail). Between the two, there is no net change in your understanding. Klank tries to endure the occularity. He fails to make much sense of the images (yes, a 22 Perception is a fail) and is overwhelmed by the psychic onslaught (6 mental damage).

Olyse-bot views the occularity again and withstands an immense amount of divinatory information (critical success). Faerinaa-bot tries to make more sense of the mural, but is still stuck in a rut.

All information has been gained from the Ocularity.

Klank winces at the headache brought on from staring at the video screen too long. "I think I'll go back to moving these stones around." He waves Travis back over and starts shuttling.

While the rest of you return to the cataloguing and researching of the ancient cyclops temple, Faerinaa continues to work on figuring out the secret behind the hidden door. After roughly a minute, she presses a glyph upon the wall and the door slides open into darkness.

"సమయం ఆసన్నమైంది. సమయం! సమయం!" wails the voice inside the darkness. Those of you able to see beyond the limits of Panarug's wayfinder and Olyse's dancing lights can see a desiccated cyclops with a living eye standing in the middle of the chamber. He moans in Draconic, "...the fires, the fires, burning, burning like the Eye..."

Klank nearly drops his tablet as he hears the door slide open and the moaning sounds from within. "What did you release Faerinna!?!" He rushes over to stand in the doorway, drawing his shield out for defense.

"Don't move, who are you.. what are you!"

Curse this 20' movement. Two strides and drawing my shield. Will use reactive shield if attacked.

Klank huffs and puffs across the chamber to stand in defiance against the discovered cyclops.

The mummified cyclops seems to not understand Klank. He rambles on in languages foreign to you all as he picks an ancient greataxe off of the floor and steps forward. In Draconic, he says, "...must complete the ritual!"

The undead, one-eyed giant swings the axe in an almost casual fashion toward Klank. The dwarf swiftly raises the shield, but it is not enough to stop the powerful blow from knocking the shield aside and crumbling the dwarf's breastplate (hit, slashing).

Before Panarug can react, the cyclops has already landed the axe on Klank. Panarug quickly closes the distance, coming up behind the dwarf. In routine almost second nature to him, he quickly patches up Klank's wounds.

He then turns his gaze upon the cyclop, summoning his spirits to harass the undead.

Panarug uses his witch-doctor powers to restore some vigor to the dwarf. However, when he turns his gaze upon the undead cyclops, the cyclops turns his living eye toward the orc, and the undead spirits seem to vanish (Flash of Insight).

"Enough translating! Time to fight!!" Vixnax Flexes his muscles and runs to one side of the cyclops. He adpots a fighting stance and kicks him twice in quick succession.

Faerinaa moves in following Vixnax, taking up a flanking position on the Cyclops, drawing her rapier and stabbing at it.

As Vixnax moves in to battle the ancient cyclops, the cyclops swipes his axe at the kobold (AOO). Vixnax feels the air rush past him in the wake of the blade. One of his ears might be a smidge shorter (Miss, barely).

Unfortunately, the luck slides away from him as both of his kicks lack the centering necessary to affect the mummified giant. Faerinaa slipped in while the cyclops was trying to behead Vixnax. She suffers the same lack of luck with her own stab.

Buoyed by the faith in his shield and his friends, Klank steps gently forward, putting himself in reach of the giant's knees. He smashes at its kneecap with the solid steel boss centered in his shield.

"Travis, Olyse, we're gonna need backup ASAP! This thing hits like a.. giant!"

"On my way, Kernal," Olyse shouts from the back as she hustles forward. Stepping out from behind Panarug to get a clear view of the gigantic undead, she chants and gestures toward the creature, and a sheen of slippery oil appears beneath its feet.

Action 2-3: Cast Grease on the four squares beneath the cyclops. DC18 Reflex save or the target falls prone!

Travis sends a shaft of holy light through the corrupted cyclops shaman. The divine energy sears his black soul. Olyse conjures grease across the floor beneath the undead monstrosity, and her foe slips, landing with a crash of bone and armor. Klank takes advantage of this and smashes the giant with his shield, knocking off the skeletal cyclop's kneecap (critical hit due to flat-footed condition).

The cyclops protests in languages unknown to you and then pushes himself back into a standing position (Klank's AOO triggers). The ancient being swipes his massive axe in a wide arc through Vixnax and Klank, tossing the two to the floor where they lie unmoving in puddles of blood.

Travis is afraid his fatigue is causing him to see things. Although his natural instinct is to go to the others to heal them, the halfling recognizes that the divine energy was somewhat effective. Deciding quickly, he sends another ray of goodness.

As the one eyed giant tries to get up Klank lashes out with another shield smash! He takes out the other knee! Unfortunately he was far too busy swinging his shield around to be ready for the oversized axe aimed at his chest. "Ooooffff!" And he crumples in a heap.

Panarug reaches into his pouch to pull out a scroll. He quickly unfurls it and casts the spell from within, pointing at Klank. A wave of healing energy flows into him.

Not sure what is the turn order, i.e. whether this happens before or after Klank's post. In a real-time game, I would have asked him to delay his action until I've healed him.

Vixnax, I use soothe on Klank as I've already use Battle Medicine on him. Will try to Battle Medicine you next round.

Travis' concern for his fellow Pathfinders struck low by the horror unleashed upon them all throws his divine aim askew, and the holy lance strikes the ground beside the undead cyclops.

Klank lays there in silence, the world slowly coming back into focus thanks to what he expects was some sort of healing. He looks up only to be staring at the desiccated remains of the underside of a cyclop's loin cloth. Torag, don't let me die like this! But if I do, save these souls from this sight.

Not knowing much else to do, Klank reaches up from the ground and tries to yank the axe free from the giant.

Going through my options there it came down to basically unarmed attacks, trip, or disarms. None particularly great. Even grabbing my shield would trigger an AOO.

Klank makes a valiant, if ultimately futile effort to disarm the ancient cyclops.

The undead cyclops kicks at Klank, sending him flying out of the room and rolling to a stop next to Panarug (and leaving his shield behind) (Critical Success). He steps forward, seeking sure ground away from the slick floor, and then makes a backhand swing at Faerinaa. The axe blade catches on the stone doorway with a loud clang and sparks (Critical Miss).

"Must complete the ritual!" he roars in Draconic.

Panarug looks at the unconscious Vixnax, then takes a deep breath. First he commands Fharan out of the pouch and to feed the healing potion it has in "paws" to Klank, cringing within in fear of his familiar's life.

Command Animal. Fharan uses its two actions to Stride, and feed potion to Klank. This might trigger an AoO from the Cyclops. It has AC15, HP10. Yes, I'm effectively using my familiar to draw his AoO, but in case the cyclops doesn't take the AoO or misses...

Faerinaa reconsiders her options and joins Vixnax in assaulting the terror they unleashed. Her first strike takes out structurally vital parts of his body, but his mummified remains do not seem as vulnerable to her blade as to the kobold's kicks. The cyclops twists to stare at her, moving out of the way of her follow-up strike.
