Guy jumps at the tree and latches on for dear life, but isn't quite able to reach the branch above him.

Sinaryn, Bocke and Laafdahni run up to the ladder and push it into place.

Jang summons an eagle, which flies into the hut and attacks the crossbowman.

Jang, you can't summon the eagle directly next to the poacher because you need line of effect and can't see him through the hut walls. So only the first attack would go off.

"Five! They got bloody birds with them!"

There is another flurry of attacks directed at Five Knives, who attempts to dodge nimbly out of the way. Bocke and Guy both graze him with arrows and from down below Jang reloads his crossbow and gets the hunter with a quarrel. He crouches down when he sees Sinaryn aiming her pistol at him and the shot goes over of his head and into the roof of the hut across the rope bridge. None of the arrows hit him anywhere vital, but it is clear that the shots are taking a toll on him. The man tosses a dagger as he retreats back over the bridge into the hunt with the other agent. Laafdahni hustles up the ladder, internally cursing herself for being so uselessly far behind. Dashing through the smoke and into the next hut, she rushes to catch up to the others. Only now does it occur to her that her allies will be blocking her from getting a clear shot at the Apsis. Consternation floods her, but she's committed now. There's no point in going back down the ladder.

Bask steps aside long enough for Guy to fire an arrow into the man with the two axes. The warrior falls to the ground with a grunt as the arrow sinks into his chest.

Five Knives Kalim continues to sprint towards the safety of the jungle.

Bask, Jang, Sinaryn, and Bocke all have one round that they can use to bring the fleeing Aspis Agent down. After that he will be too far away to catch. He is an additional 60 feet off the edge of the map and he will have the benefit of cover from any angle that you may fire from.

Bocke pulls two arrows out of his quiver and launches them both one after the other. The fleeing agent stumbles sideways and tumbles off the treehouse platform, falling twenty feet into the spiky brambles that have overgrown around the abandoned grippli hut. It looks like that is the end of Five Knives.

Alright! That is the last encounter of this scenario. At this point you need to make sure that the gripplis fulfill their end of the bargain and then you get to bask in your victory! The Dragon's Demand

With the Aspis defeated, several of the Krihirik tribe emerge from their hiding places within the surrounding trees. They let out a rousing cheer and a small group of the hunters leaves to let the rest of the tribe know that the village is safe to enter again.

The cat that attacked the group is a jungle panther and clearly the trained pet of Five Knives Kalim. It has been wounded and is currently unconscious; having been beaten into submission by Bask. It's hide has many long, thin scars where the feline's fur no longer grows.

Among Kalim's possesions are his infamous five daggers. Each one is exquisitely made and perfectly balanced for throwing, although each is made in a different style and clearly forged by different weapon smiths. Underneath his black leathers is a thin chain hauberk that pulses with a faint aura of magic and in his bandolier are several more alchemical items.

The three elders are tied up in the main hut. They have been roughed up but none of them have been injured with the exception of the elder Finyik, who has suffered several shallow knife cuts to his limbs. It is clear that Kalim had selected him as the first victim to suffer his enhanced interrogation methods and it is unlikely that any of these small, elderly creatures would have held up very long to torture. One of the short swords that the Aspis sold the tribe is lying in the charcoal fire pit, the edge of the blade simmering in the heat. Next to the pit is a white tallow candle that radiates a faint aura of magic.

Spellcraft DC 18:
The candle is a candle of truth

The grippli are grateful that the party drove off the Aspis agents and are absolutely ecstatic when they see that the Pathfinders have come through with four intact dinosaur eggs. The oldest grippli, Mother Bogwyne accepts the eggs graciously then commands one of the hunters to retrieve "the Weapon."

The weapon is an egg-shaped mass of dry clay the size of a melon, its surface smoothed and intricately decorated with linear patterns, plant imprints, and the symbol of a mountain standing under dozens of stars. As she hands the item over to the Pathfinders, Mother Bogwynne raises a hand and lifts her head as if performing a blessing, and dozens of ripplis gather to listen.

“More than a thousand cycles ago, the dwarven refugees came to us from the distant north, fleeing a home lost ages ago. We aided the dwarves and welcomed them as neighbors in the nearby hills—a land even harsher than our own. When they fled their home for a second time, we offered them aid once more, though they requested only that we honor their memory and accept a gift: this talisman that bears the power to defeat the golden beast that now haunts Ashkurhall.”

She holds up a melon-sized ovoid made of clay. “The descendants of Sigrin spoke of this as their greatest treasure, which they had left
behind. It is a legacy that continues to this day, for none have ever braved the Golden Guardian to claim the riches as their own.”

A chorus of croaking vocalizations follows the elder’s story, and she adds, “The talisman’s power is hidden within, and it must be unsealed in the beast’s presence. To do so too soon would expend its energy needlessly or even invoke a terrible disaster. We have entrusted you with this relic of our people; use it wisely.”

Bask can see that the scars on the panther's skin were clearly created by knife cuts. Bask tends the creature's wounds until it wakes up. The creature hisses at him when she awakens, but the hunter is able to calm the beast. The sleek feline stands on its feet and meets Bask gaze for several long seconds before sauntering off into the jungle.

Laafdahni senses a faint aura of transmutation coming from the egg, but believes that this aura may be the remnants of a preservation spell cast on the object many years ago.

The grippli throw the Pathfinders a small feast and shortly afterwards they make their way back to Fort Bandu. On the way back they encounter a merchant caravan making their way back to the coast. Among the merchants are several mercenaries who are planning on retiring after this last journey and are eager to trade their old equipment for cash.
