now, the mechanical portion. i need someone to roll some checks to disable the siege weapons. each of the 4 towers has 1, and it's only a single success to disable. feel free to have whoever roll the dice and if you need to do any healing or some such, you're welcome ot that as well.

With the city somewhat safe and the enemy defenses reduced, the group heads back towards the army encampment. The weight of their recent battles fresh in their minds. Small clusters of enemies can be spotted, but they quickly flee from sight and avoid conflict, and all seems well.

Until the roar.

A great and malevolent sound that ripples through the streets, shaking the buildings and rattling the teeth of our heroes.

Looking for the source of the sound, eventually you spot a grey/white shape in the skies above the city. It also seems to take note of you and draws its wings in, hurtling towards the ground.

Stopping suddenly a mere twenty feet above, the beast lets out another, yet tamer roar, as it flaps its wings menacingly. Snow white fur and scales blend the amalgam of monsters, so you can't tell where one ends and the next begins, but the beast with the heads of a snow leopard, a white dragon, and a mountain goat clearly seeks prey, and you are it.

Sal does some mystical magical stuff, before sending sparkles at the beast, dealing some damage to it. Serafina prepares for action, but the monstrosity lands and breathes it's frosty breath in the direction of the demigods. The chill cuts deep on most of the chimera's foes.

wanted to note that there is only the 30ft or 60ft template available on the slides. i set the 30ft on the map as a quick reference for people to see, but the monster has a range of 40ft, so while a couple folks aren't inside the 30ft range, they would be within the 40ft. just hoping to keep the confusion to a minimum. also, the 30ft cone on the slides has the spell origin on the wrong side. i'd fix it for future uses.. but i don't know how >.< i did leave a note on that slide mentioning it and linking to nethys showing how it's supposed to look.

With a superior effort, and the blessings of Erastil, Darius zeroes in on a weak spot of the beast. Hacking and slashing at its necks, until the creature staggers and starts to fall. Then, Pyro sends an intense wave of purifying flames to wash over the dying chimera, sending up a thick cloud of smoke. From within the haze, there is a yellow glow of the chimera, and it stands up on it's hind legs, ready to strike. But no blow comes. As the smoke thins and blows away, the shape remains in the terrifying stance, though the material of the body is no longer present.

Then, with a crack that sounds like thunder, three beams shoots out of the yellow form, striking Darius, Salvatore, and Walton. No harm can be felt, but strength pours into each of them. After that, the beast is no where to be found, and the air is calm and still.

The trek back to the encampment is silent and no further enemies dare try to waylay the group.

A messenger brings notice that Nurah has gone missing, with her tent standing empty and all of her belongings seeming to vanish as well. Searching the camp, no one recalls seeing her leave, nor the last time they even laid eyes on her.

The following morning, the army prepares for war.

With the camp struck, the Knights of Kenabres are ready to move in closer to Citadel Drezen and begin the prolonged siege.
