Let's do it!

Ermm Ok I double move towards Dormouse.
My attack can be used another round.

Hmm. Ahh, hmm. I did not see that but it looks like it is. Well that’s depressing AND unexpected. I’ve made it to level 12 and I haven’t had this come up. It’s also unfortunately crippling to my character. I’d need to change several of my spells to allow me to be in melee all the time, my stats, a few feats, I’d need different items, and a different bloodline. That’s a complete rework that I don’t have the money or the prestige to pull off. Hell, I’d probably just gone magus over sorcerer if I knew this build didn’t work.
I’m kinda at a loss on what to do now. Ignore my last turn and put me on delay.
Boron Boulderstep
|
Wait. How does that one spell prevent you from doing your normal char stuff.
Although it's a racial spell and you can't use it, I can't see why you'll need a total rework of everything.
I feel it's kind drstic.
@ Felver. Was it the raging pounce that got too much for the group? I can't really see what's wrong with natural weapon Barbarian.

It’s not game endings as I still have Greater Invisibility, but the meat and potatoes of my character is putting up a wall then stealthing and attacking to get sneak attack at range. It’s not just my spells, I am not built to go into melee. I have 10 Con, low AC, move slowly, and can’t easily be healed because I’m a Dampir. My unicorn bloodline lets me heal myself when I cast spells and the healing I’ve gotten from Stone Shield combine with whatever else I’m casting has been the small but steady sustain which has allowed myself and others in the party to keep falling unconscious and instead keep fighting. I know 2 hp a turn doesn’t seem like much but these fights have had some very close calls.
What this really boils down to is this: had I known about the spell’s restriction I would have built my character differently and with a 4 person group I would have probably brought something else (honestly anything else) to the table that would have been more reliable.

Ouch... I have Infernal healing and next time I can prepare to share damage with you then....
Like Shared Sacrifice or Shield Other
Felver

Tenzo is really burnt to a crisp dead on the fireball. I tried to do the best I can. I don't think the way this is going I can survive it or Tenzo. It's just not working the way I have it set. I might have to do an entire rebuild using all my fame to make this work because the way it's going I won't make it past part one. The group has already burned resources on me to keep me going. A gm reroll to keep Tenzo up isn't the issue. I must be not set up for this or playing it wrong. I just don't know what to do to make it better.
Boron Boulderstep
|
Ermm If you made it all the way to level 12 with your build I don't think there should be anything wrong much.
Just bad luck, the fickleness of dice rolls or bad synergy between party members. Don't worry about it.
I'll just say, game on and let's do it. We can get Tenzo back or worse comes to worse, Tenzo II.
Felver
|
Hey Boron my character is basically a hunter build centered on the companion. As if I haven't been pretty unspectacular so far it's gonna be a lot worse now. I do think you are right, however. All the tables locally always have six players even high level play, so I got used to that support.
Boron Boulderstep
|
Ah I see.
There are times when I played on tables of 3 with one GMNPC.
I have also played on tables where we played high and I was at a much lower level. (This was before we have out of sub tier) So I spent much timing hiding or examining the floor.
Somehow we'll make it. That's an adventure by itself.
You'll have to excuse Boron for now, he has a wall to climb....

Does anybody has any objection to Boron casting a fog cloud?
The Doormouse
|
I can’t see through fog and we need to start putting damage on the board. We really need to. Also Raise Animal Companion is pretty cheap and I’ll throw down some money for that.
Boron Boulderstep
|
Objections noted.
Checking cause Boron would not be hindered by the fog cloud lol and it may give you all time to buff or heal up.
Raise an animal companion? Sure I can spend cash on that.

For some reason my phone keeps autocorrecting Felver to Fenvir and I don’t know why, neither of these collections of letters are real words. Yet. Anyway, the wizard who has been blasting us is far away and has a nice pocket of angry fighters protecting them. I will once again (but for the last time) advocate separating the enemies tag teaming this group first. Also getting to the wizard will mean moving through SEVERAL bugbears and you won’t have easy sneak attack opportunities.
Boron Boulderstep
|
I mean to go through everyone of them with the Mist and Fog naughty plan.
I can still go with what the party plans to do. If someone can keep the wizard busy, I'll go play with our glorious warriors.
The Doormouse
|
To answer the question on if Boron takes damage from my spell or not, yes he does. A small point of order, they both take 9 damage instead of 10. I rounded 221lbs to 225lbs which is wrong so Boron would heal 1.
Also with the sound of big wings getting closer, not putting up a wall is definitely the better idea and after taking a look at my sheet I don't have that scroll anymore anyway.

At am nearly at a complete loss on what to do here. Its hilarious how this fight has just been relentlessly beating us over the head. We should try to be tactical about our next few actions. We are currently fighting 2 fights with 4 people. I do not believe that we have the manpower to fight two sorcerers and the group of 4 fighters (three of which are mainly just watching the fight happen) AND whatever that thing is that is on its way to help them. It might even be the boss, who knows?
Lets think. It's round five. One of us is dead and the only dude between the squishy casters and everyone else just got half of his blood slapped out of his body and is staggered. I can't do anything about the stagger but next round I can fly closer and blast people with a Cone of Cold. Aquana, do you have any big AoE spell you could cast? If we both let lose maybe we can even the odds a bit.
If someone else has another plan of action we should talk about it. With a good plan, teamwork, and a bunch of luck, we can still do this.
Boron Boulderstep
|
My offer to throw up fog so that we can back off and heal up stands.
Else I'll just go down swinging.
We could always blame the dice bots...:p
My suggestion is to pull back and regroup.
Boron won't make the suggestion cause He's also a Moron.
The Doormouse
|
That’s the nice thing about Stone Shape. There is no DC. He would get a roll to grab a ledge I guess if he has a free hand but it looks like he is using a sword and a shield.
Boron Boulderstep
|
Hope you guys had a good Halloween.
So what's the plan we have right now?
The Doormouse
|
I think that Felver can move 8 squares which will get him in range to launch a mist on the bridge. I have moved him BUT hear me out. As for what we are doing we need to start dealing damage to the enemies. I'd like us to switch up what we are doing to get that done. If Felver charges Teko he can get his sneak attack damage and I'll switch up what I am doing and hit the dude with a Shocking Grasp instead of making him roll a Reflex save on Stone Shape that he will obviously make.
Next round I'll hit Felver with Greater Invisibility so the two of us can always sneak attack. After that, who knows?
IF Felver agrees, feel free to use this roll. If not, I guess I'll stick with my Stone Shape idea. This attack is against his flat-footed Touch AC.
Shocking Grasp: 1d20 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 3 = 26
Damage: 5d6 + 5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 5, 6) + (4, 4, 3, 4, 4) = 41
Boron Boulderstep
|
If the two of you are keeping Teko busy then I'll go harass the other archers and wizards then. After I heal myself a bit.
The Doormouse
|
Wait. Wait. Before you move Felver just came over here to help us take this guy down. He is a pretty big threat. I'd like to take him down before whatever that thing is that is on its way to that fight shows up to make us all dead. If you really want to our split damage I'd recommend helping out Aquana, she has a bugbear in her face and that's not where wizards want to be.
I don't like two spellcasters just hanging around, but we shouldn't fight two fight when we can't even fight one.
The Doormouse
|
While it’s true that the wizards can see Felver, Teko the fighter probably cannot. I can flank with you but if you guys want to bug out I’ll follow that lead. Whatever we do we should do it together.
Boron Boulderstep
|
So are we agreed to press the attack?
Or are we retreating?
