The hunt for the last fleeing jann captain is opened.

The jann isn't really fast with fleeing, so the question is, if you run out of magic missiles before she dies. In sum min 69 damage needed. Also I'd like to know how you understand Empowered Spell. I'd calculate it by (5d4+5)x1.5, I could also understand 5d4+5 plus half rounded down added again for 2d4+2 which would result in 7d4+7, but I'm lacking an idea how to come to 8d4+4.

From the top of the tower the upper doors are in sight and the two huge spider/crab like monstrosities can be clearly seen in the shine of the torches at the upper gate.

It took a bit for Heshan to figure out what kind of creature it was, but when he did, his eyes opened wide before turning back to the group. We may have a problem," Heshan winced. "The guard is a retriever. It has many claws that can rip you apart and can either shoot fire, electricity, ice or petrification just by looking at you."

Ok, I make the distance from the guard tower at the bridge to the entrance to the upper town to be about 170 ft, definitely less than 200 ft. Which is to say, easy bow range... So again, let them come to us.

"Get ready, the retrievers are probably going to come for us..." Omari calls a warning from the upper level of the guard tower, as he bends his bow and prepares to engage...

@Foxy, I have put 2 retriever icons (I think appropriately sized) on the border of the slide we are currently using, and put Omari in position... Please place them where you think appropriate.

I have not moved anyone else's icons; they may have wanted to change their positions when I proposed initiating hostilities...

@Foxy: 1)Did the retriever come in a straight line run across the bay, or did it go around? How much speed did it show? 2) About this guard tower: how high this guard tower is? Can the retriever reach me from the ground? Can I use the merlons on the tower for cover? Is there a roof on the tower? (I am looking at slide 3, and it appears there is.) If that thing climbs up, does it have room to get in here with me?

Heshan desides to keep his distance from the frankly terrifying creature and readies an action to cast Slow on the creature in the hope that it would reduce the number of attacks it an do.

1) The retriever is so fast, that any attempt to flee without haste is doomed. Line added.
2) 40 feet where you are. No, but it can climb. The thing is huge and the outlook opening aren't that big. On the other hand, spiders don't need much room to get through, as most of them is legs.
Another question might be: How hard will the roof hit you when it collapses.
