Ilathor's plans look like they were wise, as his hypothesis seems to be correct. Upon preventing the 'conscript's' natural healing, the body reverts to a golden skinned fiend, with claws, horns and a monsterous features. The scholarly among the group recognize this as a Kuwa Oni, which explains most of the magic that they used during the fight. As a brief bit of first aid is administered, no further opponents come down the tunnel. Without the interference, the party can continue down the tunnel.
------------------
Wilen's and Ilathor's Shield spells go down on this final period, though everything else stays up.
------------------
Coming down the tunnel, you first hear one man talking, almost monologueing. "...And now I am quite glad to break another one of your vaunted attempts to bring you and your foolish old men back into the present. Hopefully, this time they'll learn that what they're supposed to do is rust into obscurity and fade away like the relics they are," echoes down the passage, in a half-mocking, half-gloating tone.
As you round the last turn, it runs into a sand-floored cave of igneous rock narrows to the north, offering access to a lava tube passage. Natural stone columns support a ceiling fifteen feet above, and the uneven walls irregularly bulge outward, creating small alcoves. To the south the cave rises in elevation, and the smell of seawater and a fresh breeze suggests the outside is close by.
Standing near the center of the room, stands the man that Ilathor's little spy spotted as the leader of this expedition. Clad in a fine red lacquered O-yoroi, the man is looking down over the barely breathing body of Master Iko, standing much larger then a human normally does. With a quick glance, you can spot Amara, as well as her two servants in a similar state, with shallow cuts with something untold over them. In spite of their condition, the room also has quite a few other bodies in it, as it looks like many of the conscripts met their end on Master Iko's blades before he fall. One burst of motion brings to your attention on of the black clad figures that you fought in the house scampering behind one of the pillars in the room.
The leader arrogantly turns to face the group. " So, this is your last gambit? A haggard group of scholars?" He sneers, as he looks you all over. "You are a greater fool then I thought, Iko Tsuneo." At which point, he drops into a ready stance.

Unfortunately, past realizing that, Ilathor can't do much more to assist them.
However, He doesn't need to.
Shortly after Ilathor ascertains how badly poisoned the venture-captain is, the sound of hoofs clopping on the stone immediately draws everyone's eyes further into the cave. Four scaled, stag-like creatures step out of the shadows, which the more scholarly of the group recognize as actual kirin.
It seems that our arrival is a little late, the words are more felt then heard, but it seems that we can still be of assistance. By your leave? The four majestic beasts spread out to assist the collapsed.

Well, we scattered the rabble that was outside, replies the lead kirin, After a couple tried to fight, most of the rest fled to the boats they had.
After a moment of spreading out, the kirin begin casting an arcane version of lesser restoration on the mostly paralyzed people. After a moment, the Venture-Captain and the emissary she came to meet slowly pull themselves back onto their feet. "I'm glad that the assistance that you thought to call was relatively swift," Amara says, still a little wobbly from the poison.
Looking to the corpse, Master Iko sighs audibly. "Shimazi... was a former student of mine, but I thought him dead after an incident years ago. Had I known about the amount of rancor the man had gathered over the years.... He looks up at the group of you all with a pained expression on his face. "I owe you all an apology for this. To have such an old grudge threaten the lives of such capable people, I can only express my deepest regrets for placing you all in so much danger."
"However,"he continues, turning his attention to the venture-captain, "you and yours are an honorable people that we should do our utmost to acquaint ourselves with. In my role as the Way of the Kirin's emissary, I would be honored to enter an alliance with the Pathfinder Society. After leaving here, I will send word to the other members of our new relationship." And with that, he slowly walks over to the kirin to thank his allies.
Venture-Captain Li has a beaming smile on her face as she gathers you all together. "Thank you all for your work today. With this, you help me fulfill my plans to fully extend the society into Tian Xia. While I have some pressing business still in Ramparassad, we can fully say that the Lantern Lodge in Goka will be there for the Society's expeditions into Tian Xia as our headquarters for this part of the world."

The Night March of Kalkamedes
Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch glances out a window as the last wisps of twilight fade over the Fenwall Mountains. Turning from the sight, she runs her hand along the rustic cabin’s wall and stands beside an occupied wooden bed before addressing you.
"This," the venture captain says, gesturing to the man thrashing around violently, straining against the bonds that lash him securely to the bed, is our colleague, Kalkamedes. Every night for several weeks now, he has fallen into a deep slumber and tried to sleepwalk right out of his cottage. If not restrained, he marches straight north, eventually falling off a cliff or into a bog as if trying to get himself killed in an attempt to reach an unknown goal." As though he were expressing disagreement, the man tied to the bed suddenly begins pumping his limbs even harder, the violent spasms threatening to smash the bed into splinters.
"There are those who have recently criticized the Pathfinders for our indifference to the plight of our fellow field agents. It’s time to show that’s not true. I want you to help Kalkamedes, whether he wants it or not. Several of our best spellcasters have attempted an extensive list of magical cures, but whatever sleepwalking curse or effect he’s under tenaciously resists our efforts. All we can do is keep him safe." Heidmarch pats him with a degree of professional affection, and Kalkamedes rewards her by trying to swat her with his head.
"Kalkamedes’s friends are at their wits’ end, so we are going to attempt the only thing that we have not tried: we’re going to let him go tonight. That’s where you come in. I want you to follow him and keep him safe and in one piece. Let him get to wherever his addled brain thinks he needs to go so badly. Maybe, just maybe, if he gets there, you can find a way to help him. Maybe you can determine who or what did this to him and find a way to undo it." Heidmarch pulls out a serrated knife. "Now before I cut him free, does anyone have any questions or last minute preparations?"
