Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

Cori moves with the group, staying near the front and keep a hand on her sword hilt.
"At most there should just be a guard or two, if everyone is at the feast," she whispers. "I vote for the quickest route in and out. If that means jumping, so be it."
Despite whispering, her tone is one of firm resolve to get the job done.

Slid whispers "Yes, but we must be careful not to alarm them that the shield has been replaced."

![]() |

Slid approaches the guard by the stairs and says "Excuse me, I was summoned upstairs."
Bluff: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

Stanislav Greymist |

Moving at half speed so as to not take a penalty to his stealth roll Stanislav tries to keep up and stay out of the way.
Stealth: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 20 + 2 = 36

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

"Hurry up! We'll be in for it if we're late!" Ci Ci forcefully whispers at Slid's side, acting as if she were accompanying him.
Aid Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

DireMerc |

The guard barely gives Slid a glance just waving him trough "Go on then"
the role was more than enough without cori's help who I assume forgot she was invisble lol
You quickly make your way upstairs. A few men are seated at the nearby tables having a conversation.
"You focus on on not drawing attention to yourself, I will check the door for traps and try to unlock it" says Kilik to slid.

Vinnick Varzel |

Vinnick, once invisible and inside, vinnick casts-
Spider climb , Heightened awareness and Detect thoughts And would have used a scroll of mage armor prior, just to be safe. He also keeps up detect magic while inside. Looking out primarily for abjuration effects. He also
OOC, would anyone want a spider climb spell on themselves? I have an extra slot, and could use it for that.
stealth: 1d20 + 3 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 20 = 34

DireMerc |

Gonna point out that to maintain Detect thought or Detect magic is standard action each round and that once you take any other action you lose the spell. So maintaining both at the same time is impossible.
"The spell lasts as long as you concentrate on it. Concentrating to maintain a spell is a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity"

Once upstairs, Slid uses his medallion to turn all his clothes and skin the same color of the walls, to help with blending with it. He focuses on not being spotted by the guards.
Add 1 to my stealth check if the light is dim. Also please add anything you find fair from my chameleon move with the medallion.
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

"If I weren't armed and armored for this incursion, I'd give them a show I guarantee would keep them distracted," Cori whispers. "But a full plate strip tease would be just a bit suspicious."

![]() |

Can I ask that you put the maps to the keep in a link above the campaign, please? It's a little easier than looking for that post.
Noticing four guards, Slid thinks that if there is a minor noise, they won't all go check it out. Instead, he sneaks to the westernmost side of that floor and looks for things that would produce a very loud noise, so that he can jury rig them to fall a few moments after, when he is back at this position.
If I can find things that make a lot of noise, would Disable Device produce what I'm trying?

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

She had a long discussion with Ajikisshochraos, explaining why it would be best for her to remain behind, while they went to replace the fragments with fakes. Besides also guard the house.
Once she was satisfied with Ajikisshochraos remaining, she joined the other at the agreed meeting point. Once Slid opened the door for them to sneak in, she quickly moved with the group, ensuring she had one hand on Vinnick's robe.
She remained standing next to the door, while waiting for Slid's distraction to draw away the guards.

![]() |

Slid has another idea. He tells Kilik to unlock the door but not to open it. Meanwhile, Slid takes a few steps down the stairs and scans the party looking for an ranking officer from the shadows. Once found, he moves back up and uses his medallion to turn into this officer.
Medallion uses: 2/3
Disguise: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26
Once upstairs he looks to the soldiers at the table and says feigning boredom "All quiet here?" and waits for their response. Once they answer, he says "Carry on." and walks over to the intended door. He takes out an imaginary key from his pocket and uses it to open the door which Kilik opened. After walking through, he adjusts his belt as the party also walks through.

DireMerc |

"Guest have started arriving for the downstairs feast and everything is fine so far, the special guest for the upstairs feast haven't arrived yet so were just waiting." replies one of the guards.
They give you a curious looks as you enter the reliquary but just go back to their conversation.
Beyond the first door you see a plain 20 by 20 room with another door on the other side.

![]() |

Slid closes the door and thinks I like this medallion and checks out the room. He whispers "Careful for traps. Any idea who this... special guest is?"
Check for traps: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Stanislav Greymist |

Well done at the door Slid. Let's be done and gone before that special guest shows up. Stanislav begins to examine the room. Reemember, we must leave no sign that we have been here.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

She scans the room with detect magic and sight, while listening unusual sounds. She starts with the area near the second set of double doors.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

DireMerc |

You carefully examine the room and find there is a number of pressure plates in the room, you also find a secret cavity hidden in the wall with a lever, pulling it up you disabled the pressure plates making it safe to go forward.
You open the next door and find a long hallway the door at the end of it leads to your objective but a number of other valuable relics are store in the side chambers to the side.

Stanislav Greymist |

Eying the other relics Stanislav reminds both the others and himself. Reemember, we must leave no sign that we have been here.

![]() |

Before moving on, Slid makes sure the traps are reset. He comments to the others "It's better if they don't know we were here."
He walks clenching his fists. He stops himself from going for any of the relics, as they are probably trapped. Still, he doesn't stop himself from saying "Can we come back after for these other relics?"
Along the room, he continues checking for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanislav helps with the scan for traps or other things unexpected.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Vinnick Varzel |

Well, they will realize the items we are here for are missing eventually. A few extra relics wouldn't hurt. Perhaps something valuable is here. Once we accomplish our primary objective, I say we come back here and get ourselves a few trinkets.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 with detect magic.

Stanislav Greymist |

??? We are replacing the items we are here for with fakes. Or maybe better than fakes - cursed replacements. IIRC they will not know they wre fakes until after some important ritual goes wrong. We must not give them any reason to check the items until that ritual fails.

DireMerc |

You move down the hall finding no more traps along the way when you all reappear.
"Looks like that's it for the invisibility, we will have to improvise from here, we better hurry." says Elise.
Kilik checks the door to were the shards are stored and finding no traps unlocks and opens it peeks inside and quickly closes it again...
"We have a problem...There is a guard inside. Not human but human-ish, has a dog's head, red skin and a big sword. Pretty sure it knows were here."

Stanislav Greymist |

Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Then we may have to fight. Can we mask he sound?

DireMerc |

Cori recognises the description as that of a hound archon.
Hound archons look like well-muscled humans with canine heads typically resembling those of noble-looking wolves or dogs. Well trained, they prefer to make use of their greatswords in battle, though they are equally adept with their natural weapons. Hound archons loathe killing mortals and prefer to disarm or incapacitate even evil individuals when they can. Against evil outsider, undead and the irredeemably corrupt, though, they show no mercy.
Hound archons are disciplined soldiers and sentinels. Occasionally good-aligned deities send them to watch over specific places and individuals they take a particular interest in and sometimes clerics can summon them with planar binding spells to act as guards for holy sites or important relics.
Needing neither sleep or food they can stay in place and guard a location for years sometimes decades at a time without moving.

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

”It’s a Hound Archon.” Ci Ci replies in a hushed tone, recognizing the description from her Master’s tutelage. She quickly and quietly gives a summary of its abilities and nature (as described in the spoiler above).

DireMerc |

"A complication but I think I have an idea. We make it look like we failed to steal anything. You engage the hound archon but don't beat it just keep it distracted, I sneak in and replace the shards without it noticing and then we run and make it look like the archon did it's job." says Kilik whispering after you move away from the door.
"The noise will likely attract attention, it might be able to telepathically alert others as well. I can freeze the doors shut to buy us some time but we might need to fight our way out if we go with that plan." says Elise.

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

”Well, there’s not likely anyone more distracting to that thing than me,” Cori says. ”I’m going to go ahead and pick a fight, unless there’s are any objections?”

Stanislav Greymist |

I got your back.
You might be able to bypass DR. Not sure I can. There is no evil equivalent to Bless Weapon. Some say this is an oversight. Others rule that if granted from the Glory domain it could be good or evil. There is a good discussion of it here: https://paizo.com/threads/rzs2q3n7?Bless-Weapon-Rule-for-why-it-doesnt-have -the DireMerc, what are your thoughts. In this game it might be very important to be able to have an evil equivalent to Bless Weapon.

DireMerc |

I've decided to allow the use of the spell Bless weapon to be used to make a weapon evil aligned instead of good however nobody in the group can currently cast the spell and it's to late to say your buying some oils of it now.
"Alright, pass me the fake shards I will try to make this quick, I have a way to make a potion that will make me invisible but it only works on me. While it's distracted I will sneak past and swap the shards." Says Kilik.

![]() |

Slid turns to Stanislav and sends him an angry look. He is not happy that they are giving the stranger such an important job, even less that they're leaving him with the real shards after the trade has been made. But he remains quiet and unsheathes his rapier and dagger. Fighting is not something he is great at, but it seems there is no other way around it.
I wish we could just dispel the planar binding, honestly.

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanislav has only agreed to help Cori if she fights the guardian. If you want to watch/help Kilik that sounds reasonable to me, but it's no good shooting Stanislav a dirty look since he is not in charge and has not oked anything. So by all means speak up. Vinnick may have an invisibility for you. We are level 3. We would have to be level 7 to have a spell to banish a planar creature. So that is not an option.

Stanislav Greymist |

Fair enough then, you can use them. However decide now if you want them to be oils that make the weapon good or evil and going forward when you buy an oil of bless weapon specify if you want the good or evil version.
Since he has two lets say he had one of each. But if the goal is to not kill the creature it may be better for him not to use it and instead focus on tripping and disarming.

![]() |

I assumed you were holding the shards and gave them to Kilik.
Slid says "No need to risk yourself, Kilik, I'll trade the shards." He thinks it will be a good idea to stay away from the fight as well.

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

"We want to give it the impression it chased us off, so we put up token resistance just long enough for the switch," Cori says softly. Nodding to Stan, she draws her sword and steps forward into the room.
"The smell in here is so sweet, its sickening," she says in a condescending tone. "What else can one expect from a perfumed lap-dog?"
She assumes a guarded, but aggressive stance. (Fighting Defensively, -4 to Attack, +2 AC)

DireMerc |

"Do you have a means of making yourself invisible? My extract only works on myself and if the guard dog sees you making the exchange then the whole plan is ruined, even if we kill the guard they can summon it again to ask it what happened. My plan is simple you attack the creature, I run in and cut the class, make the swap, I use my wand of mending to repair the glass and then we run. Once we are safe I give you the real shards you pay us and we go our separate ways." says Kilik to Slid.

![]() |

Slid hates the fact that he can't disagree with Kilik, so he only stays silent.

DireMerc |

Seeing that you've come to an understanding Kilik grabs the fake shards from Stannis "You only need to keep it busy for one minute and I will be done" he says taking his extract to make himself invisible.
Cori opens the doors and challenges the creature, the archon waits sword in hands between the door and the altar with the shards.
"The guards know about your intrusion, surrender and your blood need not be shed...Enter this room and I wont hold back." it says.
Elise moves to other end of the hall and gets to work freezing the door shut.
Lets roll init.
Kilik init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Elise init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
archon init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
