Hanna follows the rash Ulric-ite at a more contemplative pace, knowing any rushing about may bring about a debiltating bout of heavage.

Since she moves before the hooded skaven, can she make it far enough to get past where his green gas appears?

Yes, Hanna moves before the globe is thrown so can indeed be past where it would hit

Round 1 Combat

At the first sight of the Skaven ahead, Ubaldo charged full-bore into them sword swinging at the smallest of the three foes. Unfortunately, Ubaldo did not take into account the ultra fast reflexes of the Skaven and missed with his sword as the Skaven slid away from the attack
Ubaldo rolled a 75 for his Melee Skill check which is a miss with SL +0 because of Advantage 1
White Skaven rolled a 31 to Dodge which is a success with SL +1
White Skaven wins the Opposed Check and gains Advantage +1

Hanna also bravely charged forward to support Ubaldo with her Magick pronouncing the arcane words as she charged, but a piece of sewage lodged in her teeth decided at that moment to become free again, causing her to retch in the middle of her pronunciation of the final power-binding syllable.

The hooded man took one look at the situation and climbed the ladder as quickly as he could disappearing from sight.

The hooded skaven reached into his cloak and removed a glass globe that glowed with an evil green light. Taking careful aim, he threw the globe so it shatter at a point that the rest of the group would have to transverse to reach him. His squeaky voice called out, "Kill Kill the humans Quick Quick" A noxious green gas quickly filled the air around the shattered globe.

Adela was the next to enter the fray as she braved the gas to move to the aid of her comrades. For a moment it seemed as if the gas would be too much but then she called on her determination to ignore the effect. She also moved to attack the white furred Skaven who stood between her and the hooded foe.
Adela rolled a 34 to attack with her Axe which is a success with a SL of +8 (adding in the Advantage for Charging and the bonus for Ganging up).
Rolling a new Dodge check for the white furred Skaven, not that it looks like it will matter
The small Skaven tries to Dodge again Dodge Skill Check (40): 1d100 ⇒ 73 which is a Failure with SL -2 (with Advantage +1 from Ubaldo fight)
Adela wins the Opposed Check with SL +10 total and now has Advantage +2
Hit Location is Right Arm
Damage is 4 + 5 + 10 + 1 -3 = 17 Wounds which kills the White furred Skaven
Adela may need to name her Axe as Skaven Bane as it again takes the life of one of the rat folk, striking through fur, hide, muscle, bone in one swing.

The momentum of her mighty first swing naturally carries Adela forward into the other Skaven who is stunned to already be under attack.
Adela rolled a 51 which a success with a SL of +4 with Advantage +2
Hooded Skaven tried to Dodge but failed with SL -1
Adela wins the Opposed Check with SL +5 and now has Advantage +3
Hit Location is Left Arm
Damage is 4 + 5 + 5 + 1 - 4 - 4 = 7 Wounds
Challenging (+0) Endurance Test (52): 1d100 ⇒ 90 Failed and is now Stunned
Just like chopping wood, Adela uses her Axe to attack first the right side of a foe and then stepping forward the left side of the next foe. The powerful strike badly wounds the Hooded Skaven who is Stunned.
You are incapable of taking an Action on your turn but are capable of half your normal movement. You can defend yourself in opposed Tests — but not with Language (Magick). You also suffer a –10 penalty to all Tests. If you have any Stunned Conditions, any opponent trying to strike you in Melee Combat gains +1 Advantage before rolling the attack.

Practical: Expertly crafted with utility in mind. A failed test using this item receives +1 SL. If the item is a piece of armour, any penalties for wearing it are reduced by one level

Jarvey grimly followed Adela and tried to move through the gas cloud. Unfortunately for him, his small size works against him as the gas is more concentrated nearer the ground. Jarvey only makes it a few feet before he slumps to the ground unconscious.

Last but not least, Dirk moves forward to join the battle. Maybe it's a lifetime of clean living at work, but Dirk has no trouble at all ignoring the gas and charges forward to attack the one remaining foe. Even better, that foe has been clearly stunned by Adela's blow.
Dirk rolled a 17 to Attack which is a Success with a SL of +9 with Advantage for charging plus Advantage for target being stunned by Gang Up bonus.
Dodge Skill Test (50): 1d100 ⇒ 35 Success with SL +1 due to -10 penalty for being Stunned.
Dirk wins the Opposed Test and now has Advantage +2 (possibly +3 if target stays stunned)
Hit Location is Body
Damage is 4 + 5 + 8 - 4 - 4 = 9 Wounds for a total of 16 Wounds which kills the Hooded Skaven
Adela set-up the rat thing and Dirk knocked it down burying his axe into the Skaven's gut ending its existence on this plane of reality.

Jarvey stirs and gets back to his feet as the gas dissipates.

Ubaldo continues to dash ahead of everyone and scampers up the ladder. He finds himself in a large cellar, full of crates and barrels. Ubaldo sees the hooded man dash up the stairs leading from the cellar.

Is everyone following along behind Ubaldo or searching the bodies of the Skaven or something else?

The halfing recovers his dropped pistol, attempting to clean it as he eyes the ladder quizically;

Removing the cloak from the larger of the dead Skaven, you find that his fur is a mottled combination of white and grey and he has several inch long horns growing out of his skull. The curl at the end, like a ram's horn.

Both of the Skaven have small leather pouches with Warpstone Tokens inside. The white Skaven had 5 tokens and the bigger SKaven has 17 tokens.

In a separate pouch on the bigger Skaven you find 5 Gold Crowns and a list of names written in crude handwriting. Chaos Cult HeroMiss Ostwald Breeder Becker Dockter Drexler

No, the hooded man is maintaining his lead as he rapidly sprints up the cellar stairs

If Ubaldo races after the man up the stairs:
You fling open the door at the top of the cellar steps and run into a room well lit from early morning sunshine coming through the windows. The rooms itself is bare of furnishings. You have finally caught up to the man, but he is not alone. There are three additional men, all dressed in black with black cloaks holding pistols drawn and aimed directly at you. The man you've been chasing turns and faces you, "Halt, in the name of her Serene Highness, the Countess Emmanuelle, and by the authority of Fritz von Halstadt, you are under arrest."

If Ubaldo stops and listens before opening the door:
You hear a voice saying "Ready yourself but do not shoot unless you have to, I want them alive for questioning.

Dirk either sees Ubaldo exiting the cellar through a door at the top of the steps or stopping at the door to listen.

If Ubaldo races through the cellar door and Dirk runs to catch him:

If we are willing to risk the ambush, how strong does the door look? Could he charge it down? If we decide not to take risks here, we should go back to the others.

It’s a typical interior wooden door. One swift kick would smash it open. Or, you could try the handle to see if it’s even locked.

It’s up to the five of you inside the cellar to either move forward or retreat (by now, the rest of the group has had time to make their way into the cellar. Whoever is on the other side of the door is not coming back down the stairs.

If we're all here, that makes this easy.

Dirk lifts his weapon and sets down his lantern, readying his shield as the group gathers together. That assumes that the light conditions here allow for it. Otherwise, still no shield. Then he lowers his shoulder and charges through the door.

"Aye Templar, those foul things are indeed creatures of nightmare but sometimes it is necessary to use a minor evil to counter a major evil as you obviously know as you seem to work with a foul user of Magick to accomplish your goals. Besides, the risk from my approach is non-existent as everyone knows that the rat folk are no threat to the Empire in any way. But the rot, THE ROT I SAY, inside the Empire, inside Nuln is the true threat that must be faced. That is why the Countess has charged me with this task and why I will do what I must to succeed. Do not push too hard My Lady as I must again remind you that this is not Middenheim and the White Wolf has no authority here."

von Halstadt speaks with the conviction of a true fanatic. You get the sense that if not for his present assignment he would happily joins the Flagellants and move from town to town scourging them of foe of the Empire (real or imagined).

Jarvey continues to watch and listen, before being ordered to stand down.

He flashes a grimy smile;

"No can do. If the She-Wolf of Ulric smells more than scheisse here... I believe her."

He cracks the hammer on his pistol;

"Now you Gentlemen lower your pistolen... or I turn the Count here into a sieve."

The men around the Count also pull back the hammers of their pistols as the tension in the room is raised even more by the Halflings action.

Ubaldo glares at the screaming man before him.

"Are you insane or just an utter fool? Look at the heads, you deluded spitlickle. You consort with warp-tainted mutant rats and accuse *US* of foul deeds?"

He looks around again at the followers:

"Gentlemen, your leader has taken leave of his senses and I repeat, as a Magistrate of Nuln: arrest *HIM*."

"You sir are nothing but a lap dog of the Lady Becker. If the Lady does not approve of my methods she is free to take it up with the Countess, but you," von Halstadt makes a dismissive gesture with his hand as if swatting away a gnat, "have no authority and are not worth wasting time on."

Suddenly the Count's eyes narrow in suspicion as he stares at Ubaldo and a crazed look comes over his face, "I see it now, this is a plot by the cults to remove me and you are part of the plot and you work for Lady Becker, therefore she must be one of the cultists that must be scourged and their taint cleansed in fire."

Has there been any reaction from the Count's men at this conversation or the Skaven heads?

All but ignoring the nonsense spouting from the Count, Hanna comments dryly to her friends, "He's a fanatic....but not a Chaos cultist, though I imagine he's easily led astray by his fanciful imaginings..."

She sighs, "Count, we fight the same evil. It is unfortunate that we did not know of each other's activities ....let us share efforts and information....so the Enemy does not win!" she entreats, hopefull, but knowing her word will most likely fall on deaf ears.

Current predicament brings to mind this great scene...

Jarvey listens to the familiar clicking of the pistols being primed, then flashes a hard smile at the pistoleers;

"So you long-shanks just going to stroke those hammers, or do any o' ye have the stones to actually pull on us?"

The crazed light in the Count's eyes brightens as his certainty grows that you all are either pawns or willing participants in fomenting rebellion in Nuln. He visibly struggles to maintain a civil tone with Adela as she is the only member of the group the Count does not believe is a Chaos cultist, at least not yet. He attempts to address the Warrior-Priestess in a courtly manner giving a bow to her before speaking but his words most likely are inflammatory.

"Pull in your claws She-Wolf, I never said you were a Chaos cultist. Actually, I think you are nothing more than a well-meaning but simple-minded Templar of a second rate God that has been taken in by your companions. You are free to leave for your temple at any time but the others must be put to the question.

They are not in the least surprised by the Skaven heads, it's as if they have seen the like before.

Or this scene another great scene

The cold eyes of one of the pistoleers stares into Jarvey's..."Skin that smokewagon and see what happens"

As she said this her axe exploded with an aura that radiated the chill of winter.

So much yelling...let's try something different.

Dirk puts his axe back on its belt loop and moves to stand between the two groups, raising his voice to be heard. "Can we all stop yelling now? This has gone on long enough that it's clear that no one here wants to kill anyone."

He turns to his companions and Jarvey in particular. "Look, we killed this guy's informant and he's upset. No one has shot anyone yet. Put your pistol and your flashy axe away."

Then he turns toward the guards facing them rather than the raving lunatic, "And no one here is putting anyone to the question, because we're going to tell you everything we know."

If that isn't successful, I'm willing to spend Resilience to get this to work. If anyone else's character is interested in helping, I could use some assistance. Adela might be able to do better than an assist if she agrees to hand over the list of cultists she found.
