I’m fine with helping Fitch also.

![]() |

Abstaining my vote to afford choice to first-timers.

![]() |

A link to all those boons we earned.
Take note of
Level 3 - During a single encounter in the same location as the jinsul fleet, the PCs can activate this reward to remove any extra enemies or challenges provided by the jinsul fleet.

![]() |

Note to Shifty: Charli slotted Honorbound Allies as a ship boon.

![]() |

We as a group are pretty well set up for Staship combat.
We should probably burn the starship rewards quick and try to get through two battles to help all the tables (like the one I am GMing) that aren’t well set up for the Starship combat.

![]() |

That sounds like a plan!

Shifty |

Note to Shifty: Charli slotted Honorbound Allies as a ship boon.
Yep and it triggered in the first post :)

Since I find myself absolutely lost without a tracking sheet, I have put together a document for our Drake where we can track what is happening.
I would like it if others could help me with the tracking, updating it as things happen.
We can track the enemy data there as well if people want.

![]() |

Thank you, Bret!

![]() |

I can help with the tracking. Also, if there is more space combat to come and the current jinsul is almost destroyed we should save our missiles this round and only fire the particle beams.

![]() |

We only did 78 damage in round 3. The persistent particle beam missed.

![]() |

I think we need to ask for a consumable supply run before the next starship mission. We could load up on enhancement serums to help our starship rolls.

![]() |

Thanks for the correction, Mav!
I think we need to ask for a consumable supply run before the next starship mission. We could load up on enhancement serums to help our starship rolls.
I don’t think we can. I thought that was only allowed in Parts 1 & 2.
I would like to grab rewards though while I still can.

![]() |

It's allowed in PART THREE!
Enhancement Serums. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be one for piloting or mysticism, but we could use Yuluzak to reroll a failed gunnery check.

![]() |

Alright, I am officially lost. Is this a new round? Or are we still in the one where I acted as Chief Mate? There's been so much back and forth that I have lost track.

![]() |

We just finished the round you were chief mate in and we are waiting for Shift to start the next round.

![]() |

This is what happened last round. We lost initiative so we went first. I tried to flyby and failed, therefore the jinsuls got one free attack on our port quadrant as a reaction to the failed flyby. If you fail a flyby your still get your full movement, but you still have to fly through the enemy ships hex.
You can see on the map the green arrows is where we moved. Next the jinsuls moved and performed a back off stunt, so they went backwards. That is how they go behind us.
Finally, we had the gunnery phase. They shot our port again because they got behind us and we returned fire with a broadside using our turret and port arc weapons.
Id posted his gunnery phase before movement was finished so he thought we were going to be able to fire our forward arc and turret weapons, but we weren't actually in position to do it.

![]() |

Alright, if Shifty allows that reroll it means that we will get to use Id's original broadside post. We can pick any quadrant of the jinsul ship we want to place the broadside on. They have 25 shield points in each quadrant so it doesn't really matter what side we pick.
The will no longer get the free attack on us, but they still get to attack our port in the gunnery phase.

![]() |

And now the flyby has succeeded, thanks to Tower Intel.
This was a complicated round.

![]() |

OK, just so we have everything straight last round we succeeded with our flyby. Id chose to not broadside but fire at will with the HAMM and the laser net. We hit with our HAMM and missed with our laser net. I'm going to say we attacked their port quadrant.
This round we've lost initiative again. I want to try a flyby again that way we guarantee we can get our shots in where we want them. Even though I have a 75% chance of succeeding I'd like it if I could get another bonus from Charli either just a +2 or a +4. If you give me a +4 by using demand the only way I can fail the stunt is to roll a natural 1. Which I just did roll for initiative so no way that will happen two times in a row. RIGHT DICE GODS!!!
If we retcon Tolar's attack, since I think he misunderstood what was happening this round, we can broadside again with Tolar or Id being the one to do it and the other adding a bonus to that attack.

![]() |

Ok, so are we going by what was already done?
Because than Tolar decided to fire the HAMM and it hit without needing a reroll or Chari's boost since their TL is 26.
That means ID can still fire the remaining weapons, but it is all dependent on if I succeed at the flyby.

![]() |

Oh no. Did I send my boost to the wrong place? Shifty, would you be okay with me applying it to Maverick?
We've got to be close. Let's use up everything we've got and just get this ship success!

![]() |

OK, can we say that last round Id decided to broadside. So using the rolls he already did that means we did an extra 14 points of damage from the light particle beam in addition to the hit with the HAMM and he missed with the laser net. He then used up the extra resolve point he got for free at the beginning of combat.
This round Charli encourages or demands Mav's flyby roll and Tolar and Id can then decide how they want to shoot once we find out if the flyby succeeded. We don't use the Honorbound to help us because Mav was going to lose the initiative roll off no matter what.

![]() |

Sounds good to me. We all got a little lost in this combat!

![]() |

Hilary, just to give you some feedback since you have more direct access to the Paizo devs. I think the starship combat rules are really well thought out and fun to play. The problem is that it is just new to everyone and no one reads the rulebook word for word. I think most people learn starship combat by playing it with people that have played it before. Therefore, they don't always get the full picture of what is possible for you to do. You also don't get a lot of chances to practice it as opposed to say regular combat and on top of that there are new rules now with the new books.
Since the Starfinder system is so similar to Pathfinder everyone is familiar with the other parts of the game, but starship combat is not so familiar for them. Also, starship combat really demands great teamwork and everyone to act in order, but for PBP that is really hard.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you and the other devs created for the upcoming Starship Operations Manual

![]() |

So how much damage did we do to what arc last round?
After this, let’s head planetside.

![]() |

71 points on their port quadrant as long as we go with that Id did a broadside last round. The jinsul had 25 shield points each on all of its quadrants so 46 damage went through to their hull.

![]() |

So by my calculations they should have 11 hull left.
Best case they have a total of 90 shields total, which means they could rebalance and put 50 into the shield facing us if they can anticipate our move.
Let’s end it this round and then head planetside!

![]() |

I did a quick rescan so we will know their shield distribution before we decide what quadrant we want to attack.

![]() |

I might have misunderstood. It was a new round, Id used a weapon that could only fire aft but the missile could still be fired from the Turret. And I thought the Tower bonus let us roll twice and keep the best for this whole encounter.

GM bigboom |

Hiya! Stopping by to drop off another aid token! It is currently not boosted. Enjoy!

![]() |

Great, let's use it to end this.
Do we have a new round, Shifty?

![]() |

So Id’s shot should have destroyed the Jinsul.
Heading to the planet.
Do we want to:
* Clear the landing zone
* Hit their command
* Head straight into the pit and confront whatever is there?

![]() |

Nice job everyone. I know that wasn't easy, but looking at the stats of the jinsul ship that Neon got us when he scanned them that was a really hard encounter. It's shields were equal to ours, they had more hull points, and their firepower was equal to ours. We were only slightly faster than them. Taking them out in 5 rounds while only taking relatively light damage like we did was not an easy task.
I vote for hitting their command capabilities.

![]() |

Do we boost or use the Aid Token?

![]() |

Id used the Aid Token. Command sounds good!

![]() |

If someone has no plans to use it for themselves and wants to requisition a level 10 weapon Curve Blade, Ultrathin to loan to Tolar it will see some use.
In which case he will use it over the Screamer.

![]() |

We can't requisition in Part IV, sorry.

![]() |

Yeah, I had checked on that myself. Oops, never claimed mine.
Was planning to between Part 3 Starship battles, Part 4 opened before I could.

![]() |

In hindsight, with the mass get ‘em active, Id should have just used his gun instead of that wimpy magic missile. Ah well, live and learn.

GM Hmm |

The Woman in Red appears, bearing a mysterious Aid Token, and reminding everyone that the Starfinder Advantage is up!
"Special Delivery for Shifty's Table!"
PCs in the Starfinder fleet's location can automatically boost and pass an Aid Token without consuming any resources or needing to succeed on a check. Alternatively, if they use an unboosted Aid Token in the Starfinder fleet's location for any benefit that does not require a boost to use, they still gain the boosted effect.

![]() |

Presumably we are fighting the extra Jinsul and not the god. Not yet anyway. How high up are they? And how hard do those areas look to climb?

![]() |

So as far as Tolar can tell, His options here are
1. Go stare dumbly at fancy unguarded computers/gadgets.
2. Go fight a god.
Is that correct?

![]() |

Should have read this first.
So there is no identifying them, just Dhurus? If there is no IDing them, may I use my first ID roll for Dhurus?
