Woooot!
Hmm's Fate of the Scoured God, Tier 7-8
Also, I am respectfully requesting a backup GM NOW. My spouse booked us a cruise that coincides with the very first week of Outpost. So... If you're an awesome backup GM that can cover my first week, talk to me. I will create a google doc with pre-posted posts that you can use during that time!
Thank you!

Dungeon Master S has you covered for that period.

Checking in as well!
I'll get the campaign and pages going today/tomorrow!

Done!
GM Numbat's SFS 2-00 Fate of the Scoured God, Tier 7-8 for Outpost III
Also, Tyranius - you may wish to edit the name of this campaign, changing Gate to Fate?

To all my fellow GMs. I have made a start on my master slide deck. I have all the maps in. You are welcome to copy and use whichever slides you wish.
I will be working on pics and tokens later.
Thanks, I have a few things left over if you wish to add to them. They are over in the Gameplay thread. I am starting work on Overseer posts for Discord atm.
Once everyone's tables are posted I will compile them and post links over in the Gameplay thread as well for easy identification and passing of Aid tokens.

I'm gearing up for a convention this Friday, but will get my stuff ready after that.
I also have a local GM who is working on sheets for the COM roles. I'll ask him to put them on pfsprep or somewhere else publicly available once they're done.

Looking forward to this! And as usual, thank you for getting the slide pack together beforehand!!!

[SFS Outpost III] 2-00 Fate of the Scoured Stars Tier 3-4 by GM Sedoriku
I got the game play thread for this set up!
Also a big thank-you to everyone who got things together before hand! Having maps and tokens ahead of time is always a life saver in the specials.

Query to Tyranius:
When can we run the mustering (preparation) missions? Is that after the official start of the special, or a few days before?
Hmm

I have that set up in the beginning two days as Outpost starts. It didn't used to matter too much before as it was introductions and purchasing. The two Starfinder Specials have activities and some chance for decent roleplay throughout as well so best to incorporate it at the start to keep everyone on the same page.

Scenario Support just dropped the special for me! That was unexpectedly fast.

I currently have plans to attend a convention in Washington so it would be wise, if a backup GM is available, to have someone keep an eye on my table 08-14 April. I should be able to keep up the pace but I also know that sometimes travel doesn't go as planned and conventions can be more taxing than expected.

How are people planning to denote the locked doors for the tower defense portion of the special, Action Mission 3?
I’m thinking just put an “L” over them on the slide, but was wondering if someone had come up with a better graphic.
I am going to add some sort of labels to the map just so people know which area is what.

I would think an 'L' or Prohibition No symbol would work as a reminder on the slide.

This is more of a reminder for myself for followup as well as those that still need tables created.

Still need Tables created

Overseer Tyranius |

Thanks Xain!
I will be looking over the tables this weekend to try and message some players for consolidation to make a few more tables kick off. Around the middle of next week We will unfortunately have to cut those table that do not have enough players. Though don't worry as I do need a couple of backups yet, especially those versed in Discord.
Next week I will post the list of tables within the Gameplay Tab. If you are going to be gone for a length of time please mark it on the GM Backups Calendar in the Gameplay Thread so we can locate a backup GM for that duration for you.
Can anyone think of anything else to help make this run easier for you all? Anything we may have missed?
I am getting excited, how about you all?

GM Xain |

Still 0 signups for my table with a few seats to spare at another so I understand if you need to cut. Also willing to switch tiers or serve as backup. I have a little experience GMing on Discord. Would it be too late to volunteer to GM another scenario as well to make sure I get GM credit for the con?

GM Sedoriku |

Really hoping my two person table isn't cut. But I can understand if it needs to be. Doesn't seem to be much call for tier 3-4, though.

Given that 11-12 is difficult to do even in-person (longer fights = fewer missions complete per part), I'm not surprised that mine has 0 signups. If it needs to be cut, no worries.

I do prefer GMing pbp specials to playing in them, but if one player will make the difference for your table, drop me a line - I've run #2-00 at 7-8 and 11-12, but never played or ran at anything lower, and could hop on your game to make sure it can run.

GM Sedoriku |

Given the lack of classes at school in Japan, I've had a lot of time to prepare for the special, but I was curious as to opinions on how much information to be giving the players about things.
For example Scout Mission 1 for Ziggy where they are on the planet and scouting the jinsul activities there, I made up a document for setting up the mission. But is it be too much to tell them that there are going to be encounters every 10 minutes they spend there? Is telling them what happens on a failed skill check too much? On the opposite hand, am I telling them too little by not including the DCs for the checks? I know there's a lot of individual variations on this subject (given the GMs I've played with in the past) but I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

GM Xain |

For Society I am usually pretty open about the suggested solutions, especially for the specials, and especially for PbP. I would not necessarily reveal what happens on a failed save, unless it is fairly obvious (you must succeed at an acrobatics check to cross the log or fall). I also would not reveal the DC, though I will sometimes say an easy check or a hard check. I'm not nearly as experienced as some GMs here and I mostly do VTT though so take my opinion lightly.

GM Numbat |

When there are multiple options for a check I will usually indicate which DCs are higher than others without providing specifics. Otherwise, I just let them know what checks are available.
I try to find the balance of disclosing enough to keep a table moving, especially during an MTS, while allowing the players/characters plenty of room for discovery. That will vary somewhat between tables depending on the mix present.

GM Bret |

Revealing that they will lose an action to take a recovery seems very reasonable.
You could hide the DCs inside the spoilers with the results if you want, but since failure is another check you do need to have everything there in order to keep things going.
I would not put the tasks themselves in a spoiler. Don’t force people to open a spoiler just to discover what to do. In years ur instructions, tell them to open the spoiler after attempting the check and include any further checks required.
Here is one way to reformat it that hides the DC until they try it.
Scouting tasks
this check for the first round of combat, unless they succeed at a DC XX Survival check.
...and so on...

GM Bret |

I’ve modified my slide 9 to label the rooms. If anyone is interested, the link is in my profile and it is easy enough to copy and paste the changed slide. I have also put a lock icon on the page.
Is there any easy way to flatten a slide so that everything stays in place? I would like everything currently there to be a single layer to make it less error prone when people are moving avatars around on it.
