Muri digs up the Thamir Gixx holy symbol off the still bleeding dead man, having thoughts about where his path lead him. Elen, struggling to understand the dead man as well, hangs back, concerned about a strange northwestern door. Looking more closely, she can see it’s been damaged - partially torn off it’s hinges and propped back up again. You can’t see behind it, and it’s still a move action to ‘open’ it. The northeastern door is closed and Elen sees nothing unusual about it. Anselm steps into the next room and looks around - quite an impressive alchemical lab, but no immediate threats are found. Kamari shifts forward, ready for trouble from ahead. Mama D moves forward a bit as well, trying to keep up with the youngin’s. Major Kort continues to watch the rear for trouble.

Suddenly, the western door opens, and a human peers out and she has a short sword at the ready. Behind her you see a pair of halflings in the hall. You hear the murmur of spellcasting beyond that, but cannot see who it is. The human woman enters the room, and you hear the tinkling of a bell from behind her.

She tries to tumble past Kamari and into position further in.

The first halfling closes with Kamari and attacks!

"Go on, Elen, I'll secure the door."

Muri gives in to Lady Curiosity yet again, bolting across the room to the door in the northern wall, and tries to open it. Move to Move, Move to Open Underfoot doesn't need further instructions, continuing easily apace of the short-legged halfling.

Kamari stabs the woman once as she tries to tumble past and then again once she has conveniently landed herself in a flank with the elemental.

She again is thankful for the mithral shirt, but realizes she will likely need to buy a new blouse soon.

Anselm, not a tall man, feels odd looming over his assailant. With a side step, he draws his dagger and harries the human, drawing his attention away from his mineral friend.

The elemental takes advantage of the distraction, driving its fist up into the man's ribs.

"Go on, Elen, I'll secure the door."

"Apologies, Major!" Elen cries as she moves into the line of fire.

She attacks the masked one in reach.

... but the glaive catches in the doorway.

round 4

If she can safely reach her, Mama D casts blur on Kamari, if not, she will draw her wand and fire.

Muri pops off the broken door and looks behind it. There’s a very nice weapons rack, with several masterwork weapons hung from the wall immediately behind the door. You can see a few of the daggers are missing but several very nice weapons remain (though no shepherd’s crooks). Elen rushes in and takes a big solid chunk out of the doorway. Anselm’s elemental, with help, slams the woman in flank. Kamari hits with the AoO and again with flank, piercing her twice. Unable to safely get to Kamari, Mama D plinks at the human woman in front, setting up Major Kort, who shoots through cover no problem, as his bolt lands deeply, finishing her off.

The remaining halfling pair press on as if nothing untoward had occurred, calmly stepping over the body.

Maybe seeing Wyssilka makes her want to show off or maybe Kamari is just desperate for a flank. She leaves the safety of her corner with a one, two dance step to move around green to stab blue in the back.

Anselm grunts in pain as the halfling strikes true. Stepping back, he intones a prayer to Shelyn. The elemental disappears, emerging renewed behind Wyssilka the Fantasmagorious. It gets to work immediately.

Round 5

Unable to reach Kamari in the safest way, Mama D pulls a scroll and casts a spell upon herself, disappearing from view.

"For Taldor! For the Princess!”  Kort steps closer, reloading.  He tries to fire around Anselm's in-the-way head.

Round 4, Init 8-

Muri leaves the weapons for now, aware of the female voice that is unfamiliar to him. Approaching the bottleneck between the rooms, and peering around Anselm, Muri lays eyes on Wyssilka personally, for the first time. His instinct is to immediately wish ill upon the clown. Standard Action- Halfling Jinx- Will Save DC 13, failure which results in a -1 penalty to all Saving Throws, Initiative, and Attack Rolls.

"So you're Wyssilka, huh? Is it done, then? Have you killed Lady Martella? She's a greater prize for you and your Thamir animals than we are. Are you a worshipper, as well? Anselm here thinks you've likely suffered terrible things in your life to make you choose such an evil god. Is he right?"

Seeing Kamari in a bit of a bind, Muri calls Underfoot into the fray. As bloody as Blue looks, the halfling hopes the sheepdog can skew the numbers in their favor. Perhaps her heart isn't in it, as she finds herself face-to-face with another halfling.

Muri tries to throw off Wyssilka even as Underfoot charges in, though she does miss. Elen deftly swats the blue thief on the arm, numbing it a moment. Anselm conjures another earth elemental who attacks Wyssilka from the rear. Kamari manages the two step, tumbling between the halflings to end up in position to swat at blue. No flank though, as Anselm has already crumbled his flanking buddy back into the earth from which it came. Mama D turns invisible and disappears! Major Kort shoots, but he misses the target, his bolt clattering on the floor at the halfling’s feet.

She grins as she resists Muri's attempts, though she seemed rather savage in her denials.

Wyssilka the Fantabulous swiftly casts a spell, tumbles forward, and slices at Elen! Her dagger is black with a violet tinge, almost a fog, coming off the blade.

Anselm glares at Wyssilka and says another short prayer. The elemental once again crumbles into earth and rises again opposite Elen. "You will take none of us, but your fate was sealed when you sacrificed the arts for murder." He steps back around the corner

The elemental swings wildly at the leader of the assassins.

Like a terrier chasing a rat, Underfoot continues to harry Blue. AoO from Wyssilka?

Muri waits for the sheepdog to move out of his way, so he can engage the clown.

Stepping forward, Muri brings his Crook down on the clown's shoulder. He's no longer interested in talking, as she sounds mad. He expects to find another holy symbol.

Unable to move, Kamari stabs at Wyssilka but finds things too crowded to stab properly. Or perhaps she's hindered by dagger sized hole in her body courtesy of green.

Elen fixes a steely-eyed gaze upon the halfling clown and responds by drawing a slender curved blade from its sheath in one smooth movement to strike at 'Fantabulous'.

Muri sends Underfoot in to draw the AoO, which Wyssilka takes, before bopping her roughly on the head with his crook. Elen switches weapons and presses, but Lady Luck turns the other way. Anselm’s elemental also misses as it changes position. Kamari, wishing she was somewhere else, takes a swat at Wyssilka, but misses as well. Mama D slips into the madness and blurs Kamari! Major Kort takes a shot through Muri but can’t quite thread the needle.

The wound is ragged, the purplish aura lingering in it causing it to appear to fester horribly though Underfoot doesn’t seem to favor it more than any other wound.

”Sacrificed the arts for murder? Why my fair thug, for you are not who you appear to be, clearly. Murder is art - done properly! Sadly, I doubt I shall be able to fully enjoy any of your deaths, except maybe the last of you. That one I shall draw out and relish. So who wishes to have the honor of being last?” Wyssilka responds to Anselm.

Blue and green fall into a rhythm, each trying to force Kamari into a worse position as they stab away at her.

Unable to land a blow, they look surprised. (It might not be because of the blur, but I blame the blur.)

”You should join us brother, think of the things we could do together! I’ll give you a moment to think about it. No rush, whenever you’re ready to chat is fine.” she laughs, capering further at the jest. Muri, will save DC 15 please or you’re held in place - paralyzed even.

Then, she concentrates a moment (Supernatural move action, so no AoO) and a duplicate of herself appears in the square with her! (Effectively she created a single mirror image. I’ll track whether you hit the image or her.)

Finally, as if all that weren’t enough, she swiftly casts cure moderate wounds on herself, by the grace of her god Thamir Gixx!

Kamari observes Wyssilka heal herself and decides to give up the flank to eliminate being in a flank herself. She turns quickly and stabs the halfling behind her hoping it is enough. If not, maybe Underfoot will finish him off.

Once he's struck her, he realizes he might still be in the old man's way. He'd like to avoid another crossbow bolt, so he steps back and around the corner.

Round7, Init 14

Unable to decipher all of the magics happening in the moment, Mama D opts for getting out of the way.

 Kort steps closer, reloading.  He finally has a free shot at the killer clown.

The young nobleman's lip curls. "Perhaps in Nidal, or even Cheliax, you'd find an audience for your 'arts'. But this is Taldor, the Songbird's gallery. We'll see your patrons' collections run empty."

Anselm pulls out a potion and drinks it, disappearing. Meanwhile, the elemental presses its attack.

Elen strikes at the stupid clown again.

Go 2020.

Muri lands a blow on the wily halfling even as he resists her lure, while Underfoot take a bit out of blue. Elen slashes a strong blow downward at Wyssilka, though she dodges out of the way at the last moment. Anselm invisibly fades away as his elemental presses on, landing another blow. Kamari also connects with blue and some headway is made as blue falters… and falls! Mama D gets back out of the way, while Major Kort plucks another shot at the halfling… 1 is Fantabulous: 1d2 ⇒ 2 …stripping away the image.

”Ah, you’ve taken another of mine, and I have yet to take one of you! So sad.” she holds up her little clown, ”Duke Squiggles will help!” she laughs. Turning briefly serious, she gestures to green and says, ”Prepare to dispatch our prisoner, I’ll hold them off.”

Green stabs one more time at Kamari, before retreating back through the door.

She frowns, ever so briefly as her spell fails. Then she concentrates a moment (Supernatural move action, so no AoO) and a duplicate of herself appears in the square with her! (Effectively she created a single mirror image. I’ll track whether you hit the image or her in most cases.)

Stupid halfling luck! At least one of them is down.

Kamari again experiences the limitations of a chain shirt as the departing halfling manages to see past the blur and slash her leg. She tries to get him before he leaves, but is too slow.

Kort takes a moment to recalibrate and assess the situation, realizing that this fight might last longer than he had hoped, and expected.

He reloads and casts Divine Favor.

Round 7, Init 8-

Muri steps back through the doorway to ascertain the current assets and liabilities. He sees Kamari and Elen still standing, so weighs the assets. He sees Green is no longer present, so marks the liability. He swings at Wyssilka Everhealing, before he decides on what to do with Underfoot.

"I admit that I envy your ability to heal. Is that your god, keeping you alive long enough to frustrate us? Or does he value your life that much?"

Muri commands Underfoot to pursue Green, but carefully, as Wyssilka has already proven a punishing foe. Attack Green, but also Acrobatics to avoid AoOs and blockage by Fantabulous

Acrobatics to Move through Threatened Squares/Enemy Square: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Hoping Wyssilka's CMD is less than 21

Underfoot moves more closely to the floor, wary of another blade strike by the painted halfling. Should she prove successful in evading her blade, the sheepdog closes with Green, and bites at his hauches.

As positioning may matter later in the round, Underfoot succeeds in passing unmolested. Kamari, if that changes your movement, feel free to shift as Muri goes before you in initiative order.

Round 8

Anselm calls out to the elemental, "Menj az ellenségünk mellé, a sérült barátommal szemben. Akkor csapj le vele egyként!"

He moves into the room unseen, stopping next to Kamari. With a word, her wounds heal a bit.

Seeing Elen and Underfoot take off after Green, Mama D does what she can to help.

Muri swats the other halfling again 1 is Fantabulous: 1d2 ⇒ 1, as Underfoot spins around Wyssika to attack green. Elen also tries to dodge around the halting though she’s slightly less successful. Still, no harm done to her, as she slashes green across his back (no cover). Anselm heals Kamari a bit, as his pile of rocks continues to press Wyssilka 1 is Fantabulous: 1d2 ⇒ 2, alas her image is popped! Kamari slashes unsuccessfully, and backs up a bit to try and change his fortunes. Mama D greases poor green’s dagger, making it hard to hold! Major Kort reloads and casts further preparation.

Wyssilka the Fantabulous is having some difficulty as everyone seems to be getting past her without difficulty. She gets back down to business, sliding among the tables to try and pester Muri, ”I gave you your chance my friend! I have served my god well, and shall be rewarded as is my due. Can you say as much?”

Then she concentrates a moment (Supernatural move action, so no AoO) and a duplicate of herself appears in the square with her! (Effectively she created a single mirror image. I’ll track whether you hit the image or her in most cases.)

Grateful for Anselm closing up one of the two dagger holes in her, Kamari bounds back into combat since Wyssilka did not follow her. She ducks low as she tries to maneuver herself into a place to put her rapier between Wyssilka's ribs.

Though she is not one for hand to hand combat, Mama D always has her walking stick in hand, and as such, threatens. She does not, however, love being cornered. she casts from the scroll she still has in hand...

Muri doesn’t have much luck as both he and Underfoot fail to score a hit. Elen dances her way to the other side of the diminutive halfling whereupon she slashes again, this time cutting deeper as she crits and he drops to the ground, bleeding. Anselm further heals Kamari as his elemental swings but misses Wyssilka - however it is close enough to pop the image! Kamari tumbles into positions safely, but can’t quite land a blow. Mama D successfully turns invisible and backs away from that black-purple dagger. Major Kort moves into a firing lane, and plunks one in the chest of poor Wyssilka.

Hard pressed on all sides, Wyssilka channels negative energy to harm, well, everyone - except Elen who’s around the corner.

This kills the woman at her feet, and she smiles. ”At least I won’t go alone!” she adds laughing. Also, though their bleeding had stopped, both halflings begin to bleed out again.

Underfoot yelps from the stab of unexpected negative energy, so Muri commands Underfoot to Guard Elen, snapping her out of confusion. He returns his attention to Wyssilka.

"Why do you enjoy death so much? Even your own? Don't you want to live to a ripe, old age? Seems like you don't. Not in your line of work. So much death, even of your associates, and you did it. If you dropped your weapons, and surrendered to our interrogation and custody, maybe you could find a better path. I don't think you have much time to consider the offer."

The halfling readies his Crook, should Wyssilka fail to see the error of her ways.
