K'Aldrian addresses the servant, very curious about bees.

"Ah! Is this this apiary? And there are no apes inside at all," K'Aldrian whispers to servant in admiration of the enclosure. "So...bees, huh? Are you about to feed them? I haven't seen bees being fed before." K'Aldrian points to the box, looking quickly over his shoulder to see if Kamari has taken the cue.

"Do you mind if I feed them? I've never fed bees before." He holds his hand out for the servant to put the box in, not expecting to be refused.

Major Kort and Kamari:
The servant seems flummoxed as the Major approaches. Though he does bow by way of respect at your uniform and rank, he almost salutes first, as if a reflex. He stops what he’s doing and explains quietly, ”One of the Taldan Phalanx guards just approached me to place the wafer near the beehives, telling me the scent would keep the bees calm for the evening and prevent any incidents.”

He looks a little uncertain though as the bees nearest him are not calming at all, but rather more agitated than usual. Still, he’s happy to be rid of the duty and hands the block to you to finish the job.

As you take the block, it's strong odor washes over you - a pungent and somewhat sour flavor. Very strong.

K’Aldrian head moves back from the stank of the box, tilting it away and looking at the effect on the bees. He notes something about the servant and puts some pieces together.

He smiles at the servant. ”I see this isn’t food at all. But I would like to examine it because it’s very interesting.” He takes the box away from the apiary to see if the bees calm down. ”Well, thank you. I’ll take this from here. You’ve done your job.” K’Aldrian dismisses the servant.

He looks at Kamari, hoping she is nearby and can track where the servant goes.

Major Kort and Kamari:
As Major Kort steps away, the bees do indeed settle back down. You can only imagine the mayhem should the block have been placed in the hives…

The servant stands quietly by as the speech completes. Kamari is then able to easily follow him back to the kitchen, where he’s put to work helping to prepare for the light supper in an hour or so.
- - -

Anselm:
There are many Senators here for the speech. You can’t read them all as they are, as a group, pretty good at hiding their intentions. However, it seems clear that most of those present seem to like Eutropia and what she’s saying and either ignore the High Strategos, or actively frown at his rudeness. There seems to be quite a bit of support for what you’re trying to accomplish, at least within this small sample group.
- - -

Mama D:
You’ve heard a bit about Lady Gloriana Morilla. Gloriana mingles with the nobles of Taldor well enough, but she is never truly at home in such environments. She secretly seethes at the haughtiness of her fellow Taldan elite, occasionally staring in awkward silence or letting out raucous laughter at jokes she finds no humor in.
- - -

Eutropia’s speech ends triumphantly with most of the audience applauding, and with force, though Kamari and Kort’s move to the back of the room was noticed by some frowning faces. (Major Kort and Kamari each have a -2 penalty on all influence checks for the next social round as they shake off the stigma of leaving the speech. No good deed goes unpunished by the aristocracy it seems…) People begin to disburse heading in their own directions as the Princess climbs back down off the wide railing.

Then, finally, you hear a message in your minds from Lady Lotheed through the Senate Badges. ”I am here and am moving to the Gallery as expected. Kamari, I do not need you yet, we will all check in a little later.” You may each reply, which will be heard mentally by the group as well as the Lady, but it can only be as long as 25 words (each).

You now have two social rounds. Key nobles are on the map and are now in their various locations. Note there are four ‘new’ nobles on the map that you hadn’t necessarily heard of before who are now available. It is assumed that you are talking to a myriad of people, not just those named, but you cannot make a connection with everyone you meet - there isn’t the time.

For these, and future, social rounds in the Senate, you may continue to influence areas to get the maximum benefit, switch to your tasks, or even begin influencing individuals when you think you’re ready. The entire Senate is now open to you.

Please note, I’ve expanded the information in the following spoiler to add the individuals you may now attempt to influence for convenience.

Moved Kamari on the map to the kitchens/senate.

Kamari watches the servant for a couple minutes before being convinced that the Major has sent her on a fools errand.

In response to Lady Lotheed she whispers, "Major, nothing nefarious about servant. Why were you concerned? Going to watch senate floor since I am here now."

Walking as if she belongs there in her exquisite emerald dress, Kamari moves to the top level of the senate floor to see who has arrived. What other players are in this game?

Lady Martella wrote:
"I am here and am moving to the Gallery as expected. Kamari, I do not need you yet, we will all check in a little later.”

Muri comes to a stop, experiencing words between his ears for the very first time that are not his own. "I hear you! Did you enjoy the Princess's speech? Did you know what she was going to say? I started in the Arcade, now I'm moving back to listen to the High Strategos. Hopefully, I won't be noticed. Wish me luck!" Content with his answer, Muri does as he says, and returns to the Arcade of Triumphs, glad to see Maxillar having done the same.

Even for Kamari's help in preparations of a disguise, Muri chooses first to move quietly about, letting the bodies in attendance become a small prairie brush through which he can maneuver to get close enough to the High Strategos to effect his plan. He waits to see how successful he can be in his first attempt. He bids Underfoot remain in the garden, hoping to minimize his footprint in the Arcade.

Kamari & Major Kort:
You both spend some time on the Senate Floor seeing how things fare. The room is a hubbub of Senatorial sparing. Some of it good natured, but some just plain nasty. Most folks seem to be having fun though - even the nasty folks. You both largely watch what’s going on though the urge to get involved is strong.

In fact, though the Major was just speaking to Kamari, another noble jumps in and tries to answer the question of military involvement with policy. They take the stance that it is advantageous to hear a military perspective, but due to the nature of ‘orders’ and the need for most of the military to blindly follow those orders, it can be hard to get straightforward answers to complex questions from active duty military personnel. In the end, they argue, some input is necessary, but the final decisions should be outside the ‘chain of command’.

The party gains 13 points for a total of 18 in the Senate Floor, and passes the first threshold and is very close to the second. This gets a little complicated, but you may all now use an influence skill from the Senate Floor list and apply it anywhere in the Senate. So for example, you could go to the Servants Area and use Knowledge (local) DC 12 instead of one of the influence skills from the Servants Area list. Feel free to ping me if that’s not clear.

A note. The party only needs one more minor success to complete influencing the Senate Floor (area), so you likely don’t want to double up further here.

Muri:
You slide through the crowd like you belong there, and manage to get close to the High Strategos without being questioned or hampered by his retinue. Lucky!

Maxillar is a muscular man in his early forties. Years under the elements have weathered his skin, and he keeps his silver hair closely cropped. He wears a green-and- blue tabard emblazoned with Taldor’s official coat of arms, publicly declaring his loyalty to the nation more than anything else.

From your position you can overhear the fairly loud military man in his conversations with a gathering crowd of supporters and well wishers. It’s immediately clear that he’s opposed to Princess Eutropia’s attempts to open the throne for herself. That said the High Strategos is clearly fanatically loyal to the throne, so it’s hard to say if that loyalty will pass to Eutropia should she be successful tonight. Depends on whether the loyalty is to the seat or the person - you cannot yet tell.

You have one success of three. Interestingly, now that you’re in position, you needn’t make another Stealth check if you remain here and continue to listen for your second round.

As Elen catch up to Kamari and the Major, you examine the block of alchemical stuff. There are two chemicals used around bees. One to rile them up and spread them out angrily hunting for what bothered them. Obviously this is not really used, and more known by bee-keepers and gardeners as something to avoid around bees. But that’s what this is. It’s a block of bee-anger. Had it been placed by the apiary, the entire Courtyard would have filled with angry bees which would have prematurely ended the Princesses speech and caused all manner of mayhem.

Someone closes up with the High Strategos and leans in to give him a report. Unfortunately you’re not close enough to hear what was said, but apparently it irritated Maxillar for he turns red and is clearly angry, though he says nothing. After a brief moment, he cools again, and laughs, shrugging off whatever bad news he just received. He moves off a little with his core group and chats quietly, planning… something, which you don’t quite catch.

You sing a slight song, and perhaps mostly to yourself, but a few notice and you find them to be a receptive crowd. Perhaps they’re just still high from the Princess’ speech, but one or two sing little songs of their own when you’ve finished, spreading a little wave of cheer.

You don’t immediately see the Baron among the crush, but when you come to the Senate Floor, you see two men fiercely competing in the stalls - arguing over a fine point in noble ranks. While the younger of the two men is clearly more passionate, the older is struggling to hold his own against a barrage of postulates and arguments.

You notice an error though, in the young mans claims. A small one perhaps, but you call it out, for surely they wish to argue with truth as their guide. This is the Senate of Taldor after all.

Well the younger man looses his momentum and the older man, a judge by his appearance, take the opportunity to breathe fresh air into his arguments. The crowds appreciation shifts, and the older man is clearly the victor of the debate when all is said and done. After the dust has settled, and the younger man gives you a withering glare, the older approaches you and introduces himself as Dartist Mercenian, a criminal court Judge here in Oppara.

”I was beginning to think that little brat had gotten the best of me!” He laughs, clearly happy with his ‘victory’, ”But you really took the wind out of his sails, giving me the opportunity to get my feet back under me, and I thank you.”

He gives you a gold ring, emblazoned with the Mercenian family crest as a sign of his family’s favor (100gp) - a pledge of assistance should you ever need it.

Baron Nicolaus Okerra is a handsome bear of a man who stands a head taller than the crowd, and while starting to show his age with flecks of white in his black hair and beard, he retains a youthful smile and gentle eyes. A noble and hero in the county of Meratt, Baron Okerra is as equally renowned for his good looks as he is for his combat skills.

You have a lovely, if brief, conversation with the good Baron, though you are unsure what it takes to influence the man (DC 15 sadly) before you’re pulled away by Martella Lotheed’s summons (see next post). You have every confidence that further discussions with the man will bear fruit.

Elen:
You are enjoying yourself on the stage when you notice… an audience. Apparently Wyssilka the Fantabulous, a halfling clown here to entertain the children primarily, was leading a gaggle of them (and a few parents) to this very stage when they came upon your performance. There’s applause all around as you complete your cycle, though you think Wyssilka may be a little jealous.

The nobles present give you gifts for your performance (really irritating Wyssilka) including 238gp, a bottle of fine brandy (75gp), and a wand of eagle’s splendor (5 charges) from a particularly passive-aggressive earl.

Martella Lotheed reaches out again via her Master Senator Badge to the party, ’Please come to the gallery, I have some things to discuss and would hear how things are for you. All seems to be going well!” You may each reply, which will be heard mentally by the group as well as Lady Lotheed, but it can only be as long as 25 words (each).

You, presumably, all head to the Senate Gallery above the main Senate floor (A4 on the map). When you arrive, you see Martella grinning and clapping gently as she watches one of the jugglers, clearly enjoying the simple show. When the first of you arrive, she composes herself, though still smiling broadly at the recent memory. She guides you to one of the small meeting areas Elen noticed earlier on the upper walkways which she’s sectioned off with chairs and a pot of fresh coffee. You notice her brass cricket too, resting on a nearby railing. She cranks it up as the last of the group arrives and turns it on for additional privacy.

She checks in on your progress, and asks if there’s anything she can do to assist you in your work. ”Things seem to be going well from this end, but how are you all doing? Getting settled in OK? I did catch Princess Eutropia’s speech, or at least most of it. Was there something going on in the rear? I heard some shuffling, but couldn’t see anything from my vantage point.”

’On my way.’ K’Aldrian response curtly (instead of stiffly) and moves to exit the archives when things were just getting good. He feels like if he just had a bit more time and without any interruptions, he might have found something helpful...a treatise, a ruling in law, a historical example that might be put forth. But it was not to be.

He moves to the Senate Gallery, clacking with his cane.

”It appears someone was trying to disrupt the speech by putting out some...” K’Aldrian looks at Elen, trying to remember the name. ”...trying ot put out some ‘beebemad’, Elen has identified. I intercepted the block before it became a problem,” he explains.

”There are certainly games afoot.”

'Things are well. See you soon.'

Kamari considers grabbing a few pastries to bring with her, but decides against possibly upsetting the servants from whom she might seek assistance in the near future.

She arrives in time to catch the end of the juggling act and adds her own claps of appreciation.

"Not much to report, my lady, except that you should be sure to have one of the mascarpone pastries when they bring them out. They are both safe and delicious." Kamari looks about hoping someone else has had better luck.

Unexpected.

She smiles, concealing a bit of concern if not alarm. Pretending not to notice The Clown, shd accepts the gifts while curtsying and making all of the 'Thank you, M'Lady/Dame/Lord!' social noises expected while making a wide as possible berth to avoid even making eye contact with The Clown.

Elen smiles and nods as the Major speaks. "Yes, and it is most fortuitous that The Major confiscated the block when he did. To us and to most creatures, Beebemad™ is completely odorless, but to bees it is a Call to War. It literally makes them crazy, and off they go stinging every breathing thing in sight."

And then dying. Beautiful bees. What monster would do this?

"Had that happened, it would have stolen the Princess's spotlight as well has harmed dozens of guests, maybe even the Princess. It probably would have killed the present hive to boot. Someone with some command over the servants here meant to cause Her Royal Highness harm and humiliation."

She pauses for a moment to help herself to some black coffee.

"Oh, and in other news," she says, taking a sip and looking off to the side in what might be pride, aloofness or embarrassment. "I believe that I have quite inadvertently stepped on Wyssilka the Fantabulous's toes."

Anselm:
You have a most amiable chat with Baron Okerra.

A celebrity in the tournament circuit and a kind but stern leader, Baron Nicolaus Okerra is considered one of Taldor’s chief defenders of law and order - even if he says so himself. He has little time for pomp and circumstance, secluding himself in the noble courts of the senate building to debate with aspiring nobles on the importance of law. His charming demeanor is only somewhat mitigated by his staunch devotion to order, even when he defends the shadier aspects of a lawful society.

Also a fairly nice guy, and a bit chatty.

”Quite right. I didn’t ask you here just to look over your shoulders. There’s a young woman here: Malphene Trant, the daughter of Senator Trant. She’s a belligerent, narcissistic ass, and a bully as well. She’s here likely to intimidate one or more of the junior Senators into backing her father - distinctly not a supporter of our cause. If one of you could keep an eye on her and notify me immediately should she make an attempt, I can announce it to the rest of you and together you could… quietly intercede.”

(This will require someone, not Kamari, to keep an eye on her, sacrificing social rounds to do so. Alternatively, you can ‘check in’ on her between socializing, by making a perception check each social round, though this risks failure - losing track of her in the crowd.)

”Also, Kamari, I have a quick task for you. I need you to deliver this sealed letter to Count Orlando Zespire, in the archives. Linger, as he may have a message of his own to be delivered after he reads the note. Report to me only if you encounter some difficulty or if there’s a return message - though I don’t expect one.”

You’ll need to succeed at a DC 12 Escape Artist or combat maneuver check to do this in one social round. Otherwise it’ll take two to accomplish as you’re hedged in by the crowds and side conversations by the Senators in question.

While he politely takes the proffered glass, you’ll notice he doesn’t drink deeply of it during your chat. He’s careful too sip, without imbibing much.

He speaks amiable with you, though it becomes clear during the conversation that’s he may not himself be sure which way to vote. He talks of law and order, and the continuation of rituals and traditions to maintain that order. And yet traditions and rituals change over time - to reflect the underlying changes in the society. Fail to change any traditions and you’ll see law and order fall just as surely.

”I know this is a tipping point, a momentous vote, but the future is uncertain, and so one must tread carefully and consider. I look forward to the vote in just a few short hours when clarity will again reign one way, or another.” he smiles warmly.

The party has successfully influenced Baron Okerra once. Still more to go with the good Baron to convince him.

Muri:
Muri thinks loudly in his head, though the message goes no where as his lesser senate badge doesn’t permit him to instigate telepathic communication, only reply. He is however able to sneak up into another good listening position from which he can hear, and to a lesser extent see, the head of Taldan’s military.

This period however reveals little. The High Strategos is chatting amiably with a small group of military men. From what you can hear, and from their laughter, they seem to be reliving an old battle against Qadira. A battle in which Taldor was victorious apparently - or at least that’s their memory of the situation.

You are in a good position and may remain there avoiding the stealth check if you wish. You lose track of Dame Trant in the hubbub.

The wand of Eagle’s Splendor is level 3, so three minutes duration. However, that is sufficient for a first impression during a social round, so a single charge provides the bonus for a social round check.

Kamari:
You don’t, quite, mange to get up to the Count, though you do see him on the far side of the archives chatting amiably with an older gentleman, dressed in more common garb than is the usual for this evenings event. You gather he must be a servant of some kind, though the Count is treating him with deference.

You’ll be able to speak with the Count in the next social round without making a roll (as the failure of a roll merely means double the time). In fact the elderly gentleman who was speaking with the Count, peels off and goes to chat with Major Kort.

The Count is free!

K'Aldrian frowns. "I cannot be sure...but I *think* his appearance coincided with High Strategos Maxillar Pythareus, but we were unable to definitely tie the two together," he notes gravely, wishing for a better answer.

Lady Lotheed sighs, ”Yes it’s possible he might do something like that. A bee sting is nothing to him, and he may well feel that the nobility could use a little toughening up. Still, if we’re not sure, we’ll let it lie for now, satisfied that whoever planned it failed.”

Major Kort:
As you socialize with the crowd here, a guide leads a group of nobles over to an old blueprint of the senate building. The guide explains that the current structure was built atop the ruins of several older senate constructions. To keep the attention of the crowd, the guide goes on to describe how some levels of the old senate involved the intentional immurement of workers - a grim reward from the nobles of the time.

You’re able to add some details to the guide’s information, getting nods all around for your intellect and understanding. In fact, an elderly librarian pulls you aside as the tour continues and introduces himself as Pabrus Telecoum, the chief librarian of the Imperial Archives. ”I’m impressed by how much you know” he says in a quavering voice. You idly wonder just how old this man is… You chat together amiably about the past and walk about the library. Seemingly at random, he gathers an old dog-eared book off a table and presses it into your hands. ”Here, take this. The text is, sadly, largely unsalvageable, but perhaps you can get some enjoyment out of it.” He smiles warmly as he passes on knowledge and he teeters along toward a back room, probably for a nap.

You examine the text finding it to be a journal - a somewhat compelling tale of a young wizard’s growth to womanhood and inheriting her family business in Cassomir 250 years ago. Though large portions are missing or damaged by water, tucked into the back of the book is a scroll containing animate rope, blur, flaming sphere, hypnotism, mount, and web.

There's a rather loud gentlemen on the far side of the Senate floor that is quite out of sorts over a lost signet ring. He was afraid it fell onto one of the trays accidentally. I told him I would come check with you. Do you mind if I take a look?" she says, slipping into governess mode like a favorite slipper.
"You know how they can be when they feel they've lost something. I figured better to be me than him, if you know what I mean."

Should they allow her to look about, she checks anywhere that a ring might possibly me missed, while chattering about nobility. "Oh, don't let this dress fool you. If one of "them" hadn't wanted me to be here in it, I wouldn't be, and that's the truth. But, sometimes, when you watch them til they're one of your own, sometimes, they remember. A little."
she says with a wistful smile.

"Oh look, there it is! In his cup, I should have known!" she lets a signet ring slip into a cup of a deep red wine only to hold it up again with a grin.

"I'll take it right to him, and maybe another goblet to keep him occupied."

"We Basri serve Taldor first and try not to get wrapped up in politics. I can say this: Our allies in other lands admire our arts and scholarship. And yes, our ability to field our armies in defense against dark forces. I pray that our future ruler, whoever she or he may be, will deploy love and friendship as readily as the phalanx."

Diplomacy to Influence: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

He continues attempting to get a glimpse of Trant in between sips and pauses in conversation.

Elen leaves to "case out" the kitchen.

Social whathaveyou (round 3 first of 2?):
KnowLocal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

"Oh, my! Pardon me -- I couldn't help but follow the delicious smells!" She looks over the shoulder of one of the prep. chefs. "Ooh! Taldorian Pepper Spice and Opparan melon! Two great tastes that go great togeth --"

KnowNob: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Where's the dinner wine?

She stops, seeing Mama D approach, and chooses to take this moment to try a bottle swap.

Gasping, she says "Oh! My Lady Lotheed!" and curtsies.

Assuming she has identified the Dinner Wine bottle
As the focus of the servants shift from her to Mama D, she retreats to a wall near the Real Stuff. She retrieves the forgery wine and Vanish Potion. While no one is looking, she quaffs one while holding the other.

Stealth: 1d20 + 0 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 0 + 20 = 30

She carefully places the forgery in front of the real bottle of wine, tucking the latter up her winged sleeve and slides it out while sliding the forgery in place.

Dex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

One winks out of sight while its cheap doppleganger appears. Keeping the real bottle tucked up her sleeve, she retreats back to where she started and reappears. Placing the empty flask in her purse, she nods to Mama D, and starts to help 'looking' for the ring.

'Loud gentlemen, did she say? "Maybe in here?" She asks, fishing around with a spoon in a gravy boat.

Mama D wrote:
"Oh look, there it is! In his cup, I should have known! "

Elen smiles and nods. She approaches Mama D. "I'll take it right to him, and maybe another goblet to keep him occupied."

"Oh!" Elen says, grabbing a goblet of deep red wine from a tray full. "I've got it! Please let me accompany you."

She leaves with Mama D. "Thank you again, so much! I will repay you!"

Later in the Powder Chamber, she slings the real bottle of dinner wine around her waist.

Eventually she sees Major Kort trying to get her attention, and floats over to him. "How are you doing?"

Quote:
"I think there are some spells within, but not really sure. I know some, but not enough. I thought perhaps, after your help with the beebemad, you might know about this?"

"I believe I can," she says, then gasps in astonishment. "Oh, what a lovely old tome! Where ever did you find that?" She casts a spell, and inspects the scroll.

"Well, here we have Animate Rope, Blur, Flaming Sphere, Hypnotism, Mount and finally -- Web"

"I wonder how her story ended?"

Next social round to come...

Roll20 Map - Tracking Sheet

GM Rolls:
1d20 ⇒ 14

Muri:
You hunker down, satisfied you’re in a good spot as you listen in on the High Strategos and his followers. Largely the discussions are inane, just powerful people killing time while they wait for the future to unfold. The man seems quite relaxed, or perhaps that’s just his demeanor. Or so you thought.

At one point, a younger aid makes some comment about being worried about the upcoming vote, and what it means to his master’s chances at taking the throne for himself. You lean in closer as Maxillar laughs, ”A woman on the Lion Throne? You think the Grand Prince will permit such a thing?” He says nothing further, but it’s clear from his face and tone there’s something planned, but the High Strategos isn’t sharing, even within his closest circle.

You have succeeded in your mission to keep an eye on High Strategos Maxillar Pythareus.

Mama D:
The courtyard is your oyster as a small cadre of young nobles, most attached to various Senators via family influences no doubt, gathers around the matriarch to learn. And learn they do! Their young minds absorb your wisdom like the sponges they are, and their young voices fill the ears of older, more powerful nobles throughout the Senate through the course of the evening - spreading your wisdom far and wide.
- - -

The party has fully influenced the Courtyard. Everyone gains a +2 (circumstance) to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate for the duration of the Gala! Please be sure to note it on future rolls so I know it’s being applied or I’ll add it for you.

Elen:
You spent a little time in the kitchen scoping things out and getting to know the servants. They are, generally speaking, a friendly group. Or at least they’re being friendly to you, a presumed noble by your bearing and dress. Still, you sense some sincerity there. It seems a generally well run and happy place.

While poking around, you find, and are shown their use, a few semi-secret passages for the servants use to move around the building without getting in the way. Quite useful that, especially to Kamari trying to avoid the crowds in her deliveries. Further, you overhear some gossip about the other nobles. You may pick one NPC attending the gala (from the spoiler at the bottom) and you’ll learn their weakness giving everyone a +4 in their reactions to them.
- - -

The party gains 9 points toward the Servant Area, reaching the first threshold. Elen, you may select one NPC attending the gala and learn their weakness as the kitchen gossips. Further, Kamari has a +2 untyped bonus to navigate the Senate during her missions as you’ve learned of some of the hidden passages throughout the Senate for mobility.

Mama D & Elen:
Mama D bursts into the kitchen where Elen is scoping out the wine racks, looking for the one. She finds her target as Mama D gets the kitchen in an uproar looking for her ring. The staff knows who will be blamed for the loss of the ring, and it sure isn’t another noble. So they all stop what they’re doing and search within their own little domains for the one ring. Even the head chef Dedrien Nos, raises her voice over the din commanding her entire staff to aid in the search.

While the search is on, Elen quietly disappears, and swaps the bottles most adeptly using a combination of sleight of hand and powerful magics. She manages to slip the excellent wine into her sleeve just as a servant nearly bumps into her searching among the bottles for the ring. Safely back in her starting spot, she reappears, no one apparently the wiser, though the kitchen cat (a mostly white shorthair with a black blaze on her chest) gives her a head-tilted glance.

The ring is eventually ‘found’ by Mama D, to the delight and pleasure of the whole room. A communal sigh of relief passes through everyone as Mrs Nos reclaims her authority and gets everyone back to work. She thanks Mama D, ”I’m glad it was found, you’ve a good eye my lady.” before turning back to her own tasks, most numerous as dinner creeps ever closer.

Elen examines the wine (in private) and finds it to be a really very exceptional bottle of cabernet worth 500gp!
- - -

The party gains 7 points toward the Servant Area - almost to the second threshold!

Anselm:
Nicolaus listens to you intently, clearly trying to make up his mind on the matter. He’s not opposed to the idea of a woman on the throne, and he clearly respects Princess Eutropia. He’s just concerned about the long term consequences of such an act.

Yet over the course of your conversation with him, he clearly seems to lean your way. Eventually he says, ”Yes, I see your point. Perhaps the woman’s perspective can be useful on the Lion Throne. We have been in too many wearingly long wars, and they haven’t turned our way of late, whatever the generals say.”

He shakes your hand firmly adding, ”I’ll support the Princess. Yes I will. If you’ll excuse me, there are some folks I need to speak with.” With that, he moves off to spread his desire that primogeniture should be ended this very night! You have fully influenced Baron Nicolaus Okerra (only two checks required for him). Further, you've made him friendly!
- - -

The party has fully influenced Baron Nicolaus Okerra, causing him to push for the end of primogeniture which will sway several votes to your side.

A few of you managed to observe Miss Trant for the first round, and lucky Anselm the second - so she remains under the parties watchful eye. She has not yet made her move, though she is clearly watching several of the younger and more impressionable Senators.

Some folks still have a turn remaining… Elen (one round), Kamari (one round - likely delivering the message). Additionally, you may all take an additional social round at this time. So Elen and Kamari have two social rounds to complete, everyone else one.

Female Half-Elf aka Katherine Weaver

Kamari leaves the Major and casually approaches the Count with a smile. She keeps the letter out of sight for now.

"Good afternoon, sir. I am Kamari Everly and am here at the behest of Lady Lotheed."

She pauses and ensures no one appears to be listening in.

"She wishes for me to deliver you a missive if you would receive it."

If the Count agrees, she will pass him the letter and loiter nearby awaiting a possible response.

Roll20 Map - Tracking Sheet

Kamari:
Count Orlando Zespire is a large man and disinclined to move quickly - seemingly in thought as well as the physical realm. He eyes you carefully, weighing your words before breaking into a slight smile. ”My lady, someone as appealing as you could work for no one else I’m sure. Quickly now, let’s have the message, and wait a moment as I read.”

Assuming compliance, he takes the sealed paper, breaks the seal and reads the missive. He occasionally looks at you over the lip of the paper, though you’re not sure if he’s leering, considering something he’s read, or simply assuring you’ve remained for a response. After what seems an interminable duration, he quietly folds the letter. He casts a quick spell, and his mark appears on the fold, effectively sealing the letter again.

”I wonder my dear, if you would please do me a small service. Take this to Junior Senator Duo, in the gallery. You’ll know him by his fidget - he’s always toying with a quill. Fancies himself a writer. Deliver this with my thanks to Lady Lotheed.”

It will take you one social round, if you succeed at a DC 12 escape artist or CMB check, two if you fail. Remember you have a +2 bonus to the roll.

Male Halfling Herder/17

Becoming more comfortable with his comings and goings, especially having avoided direct eye contact with the intimidating and intriguing High Strategos, Muri whisks off to the Gallery to report to Lady Martella his observations.

Arriving there, he can't help but seek out the clown, if only to set eyes upon this Whis-silka individual. While he strolls about the area, he looks down upon the Senate Floor, impressed by the grandeur of the building, while laying eyes upon Lord Remilliard Kastner, in juxtaposition with Kalbio the Lucky Sot.

Social Round 6

Senate Floor Influence: Knowledge(Nobility): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

"Impressive. I wouldn't have pictured it better, Commoner and Lord, standing more equally with one another on the Senate Floor. I wonder if they think the same thing, or if they have to endure the formalities," Muri looks down on Underfoot, though he is aware of folks standing nearby that might be listening to his reasonably loud musings, "... like us. I'm sure we could get used to it, if we needed to work within these walls. It looks like Lord Kastner was born to do so."

Muri eventually begins to look for Lady Martella, waiting for a quiet moment to catch her up on all things Maxillar.

Muri:
You idly examine the comings and goings of Senators and their aides. In your time honored observations, you find a pattern to the apparent madness below. The various passages from the kitchens, plus the occasional stairway between the Gallery and other areas mean you can slip here and there with apparent ease.

Firstly, Kamari gains an additional +2 untyped bonus to navigate the Senate during her missions. More importantly however, the party gains an additional social round between each event as you’re able to show the party how to move through the crowds with efficiency and tact.

- - -

The party has fully influenced the Gallery. That means another +2 untyped bonus to Kamari to assist with her missions. Additionally everyone gains an additional social round between each event, including this one. Bonus!

Everyone please take an additional social round at this time. That means Muri has 1, Elen has 3, and the rest of you each have 2. Note that only the Servant area is left for areas, and just one successful roll should do it the way you lot have been rolling. And don’t forget about Miss Trant. :)

Male Halfling Herder/17

It feels like the flow of the grassfields, moving from the Gallery to the Service Area. He knows that Underfoot will benefit from the exercise. She's been so patient, Muri feels like he should strike while the iron is hot.

Bounding down the quiet stairs, the halfling finds himself just outside the Kitchen, where he tells Underfoot to Heel, and remain out of sight, just for now. It takes a moment to set the dog's position, as she smells the foods' aromas emanating so strongly, but heel, she does.

When Muri enters the Kitchen, he composes himself, before turning to the chef.

"Princess Eutropia would very much appreciate a fine cut of steak for Taldogis. I'm to carry it to them. I'll make sure it arrives in the same manner you want me to present it." Muri smiles expectantly, bringing his hands to clasp in front of his royal blue cloak.
