"You were killed, Taldogis. We used magic to bring you back to life. We're going to do the same with your Mother. You have to wait, though." Muri speaks as clearly as he can, given the dog's horrible, recent experience.

"The key's kinda odd. Really odd that the dog swallowed it." Muri speaks it to no one in particular, a feeling of being overwhelmed by the mirror shards of the memories of murder.

Taldogis, on some level, understands he has to wait - but it does not go over well. He paces the room, looking for mom. He looks like he might have more to say, but is not forthcoming on his own (gotta ask him questions).

They key is odd, and don’t get too hung up on it being in Taldogis’ stomach. ‘Cause it’s totally odd to me too, and I almost didn’t have it in there it’s so odd. So feel free to focus on the key as a clue, but not how you got it so much.

The Night Swan observes Martella’s reaction to the key. While her suspicions are eased, she would rather pursue them and be wrong than abstain and be right.

She tries the key on the door to the Princess’s room.

Martella seems to be telling the truth about not knowing about the key. She’s not seen any silver keys to the Palace of Birdsong. Sure enough, it does not fit in the Princesses room - or any other room/chamber in the place if you check that thoroughly.

Now that you think about it, the Lotheedar’s were around back then as a clan. The Duke at the time resided here in the Palace of Birdsong, and owned property all over. Martella can confirm, and there may be books in the library still that date back to that era and might reveal more.

Knowledge Nobility check, and a few hours of library work might reveal something useful. And might not. Hard to know until you delve. Everyone who helps with the library can make a roll which, if successful, will shorten the time spent finding records from that era.

1d20 + 21 + 2 + 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 21 + 2 + (6) + 3 = 39 Know (Nobility)

If that doesn't work, is there any reason to think that another Legend Lore wouldn't provide the answer...and then some?

Female Half-Elf aka Katherine Weaver

Kamari returns to Taldogis with more questions.

"Taldogis, did you recognize the person from whom you took the key? Have you them before? Can you tell us anything that would help us find the person again?"
