Bennett Florence |
Bennett hopes the dust settles on the fleeing Buri. Perhaps he can catch a glimpse.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Avi Solrem |
Should Buri-Ban also be sneezing each round? Do we get a perception check to locate him that way? I'm guessing the ovals on the map are employees?
Kolris! Let them know we're looking for someone who snuck in here, we mean them no harm, and we need their cooperation. Ask each of them to kick up a cloud of dust behind them. We'll find him in no time! I guess that wouldn't be until their initiative turn though, even if we successfully communicate.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Looking carefully in the dust, kicked up or otherwise for signs of Buri.
Avi provides the customary thunder to Tree's greataxe, just in case.
[standard] thunderstaff on AMTs greataxe.
Angry Magic Tree |
Fortitude vs DC 10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Angry Magic Tree races towards the other door. "Somebody stay put at that door until we find the berry-berry man!" she yells.
Full-round action to Run to opposite door.
Avi Solrem |
Apologies, I neglected the save...
Fortitude, DC10: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 two in a row?!?
Bennett Florence |
fort save of course.: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
*AAAACHOOOOO*
GL13 "Gillie" |
Gillie races after the fleeing merchant and upon entering the refinery he decides to get some height due a better view and climbs up to one of the catwalks
Taking 10 for 31 on attempt to climb quickly as I have a climb speed
Please move my token somewhere appropriate.
Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
GM Jhaeman |
Bennett begins sneezing uncontrollably, as Angry Magic Tree sprints across the busy refinery floor towards the far door. The laborers seem increasingly agitated as they shout repeatedly in Kelish.
Sadaf, it's your go.
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf DC 10 Fortitude : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Sadaf runs forward and is still waiting for Danduun to find Buri Buri-Ban.
"Danduun, continue to find the invisble man!"
Double move.
Danduun |
Fort DC 10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Danduun is sniffing!
Survival, move action: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
He also moves inside.
GM Jhaeman |
The refinery workers desperately try to push and pull you out of the building--for your own good!
Sadaf and Angry Magic Tree: an employee manages to grab a hold of you. You are grappled.
A grappled creature cannot use Stealth to hide from the creature grappling it, even if a special ability, such as hide in plain sight, would normally allow it to do so. If a grappled creature becomes invisible, through a spell or other ability, it gains a +2 circumstance bonus on its CMD to avoid being grappled, but receives no other benefit.
Casting Spells while Grappled/Grappling: The only spells which can be cast while grappling or pinned are those without somatic components and whose material components (if any) you have in hand. Even so, you must make a concentration check (DC 10 + the grappler’s CMB + the level of the spell you’re casting) or lose the spell.
The workers are treated abstractly in the scenario, and are more like a hazard--but you can still try to break a grapple or attack them if you want.
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Grapple vs Gillie: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Grapple vs Sadaf: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Grapple vs Kolris: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Grapple vs Bennett: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Grapple vs AMT: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Grapple vs Avi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Avi Solrem |
Without speaking Avi points directly at the space where he sees the dust settling in an unnatural place.
Kolris Isimlothe |
Fortitude DC 10: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Kolris opens his mouth to try to persuade the workers, but inhales a gasp of the spice and immediately begins sneezing! In between sneezes, he tries to locate Buri-Buri, and points him out if he finds him.
Perception, whispers of evil: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 12 + 1 = 29
Bennett Florence |
fort for sneeze: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Bennett tries to zero on on his prey.
preception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
longbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 = 8
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf DC 10 Fortitude : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Sadaf tries to escape but he is only sneezing.
Danduun |
Fort DC 10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Danduun starts sneezing but tries to continue sniffing!
Survival, move action: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Avi Solrem |
Fortitude, DC10: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Avi struggles to hold his pointing finger up as he begins a sneezing fit that lasts this round.
Angry Magic Tree |
Fortitude vs DC 10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Curious, Angry Magic Tree wipes his nose and looks at where all the tall folks are pointing.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Studying the indicated area as a move action and again as a standard action. AMT doesn’t want to leave the door unless she knows where our target is.
GL13 "Gillie" |
Sorry Gillie stealthy moves along the catwalk towards the hidden figure and without any understanding of the danger he draws a bomb and throws it down.
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Bomb Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Bomb Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Sneak Attack if I'm within 30ft and he didn't see me coming: 1d6 ⇒ 2
GM Jhaeman |
Angry Magic Tree scans the floor of the refinery, but can't tell where the invisible merchant is hiding. Meanwhile, Gillie climbs along the catwalks and hurls an explosive at the spot where he believes the merchant is standing. The bomb is hurled with perfect accuracy and as it explodes against an unseen foe, the chaff and spice dust in the area also ignite! Fortunately for everyone, the fireball just misses catching the edge of one of the vats. You all hear a shriek of agony followed by pathetic howl from an unseen figure.
AMT, there's a distance penalty to Perception checks and you're pretty far away.
The explosive is a direct hit, and sets off a 10' radius fireball that does additional damage to the merchant. There won't be sneak attack damage though, as you can't sneak attack a target with total concealment. Gillie, if that bomb had landed one square to the south, things would have gotten *very* interesting :)
Miss Chance (50 or less misses): 1d100 ⇒ 75
additional damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Kolris Isimlothe |
Fortitude DC 10: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
"He's surrendered! He's surrendered! Please, no more fire!" In the direction of Buri-Buri, Kolris continues in Kelish.
"Step out and drop your invisibility. I told them no fire an they already used it; I can't guarantee what they'll do next. Stand down and show yourself, and quickly!"
Kolris moves towards the man, keeping an eye out for guards.
Double move: 50'
Avi Solrem |
Fortitude, DC10: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Is he.. *cough* *cough* *hack* done yet? Surrendered?
GL13 "Gillie" |
Gillie holds, waiting to see what happens
Delay
Bennett Florence |
fort for sneeze: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Bennett is getting used to the dust and is about to fire a few more arrows when Kolris explains we have turned the tide. Let's get out of here then. He moves tentatively in the direction of Kolris to back him up.
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf shouts “Danduun stop!!“
He waits.
Angry Magic Tree |
Fortitude vs DC 10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Angry Magic Tree lets the warehouse workers pass, keeping his arms outstretched and trying to match a person with each bump she feels.
Delay.
GM Jhaeman |
Badly-burned, Buri Buri-Ban becomes visible.
He holds up his hands to show they're empty while he speaks, looking at Kolris.
But any further conversation is interrupted by the arrival of the refinery's guards. Although the lazy men must have been dozing, the explosion and shouts for help from the labourers have finally roused them into action!
Two guards have arrived at each door. Their actions for the round consist just of getting there, so they'll do something next round. They're armed with scimitars.
Kolris Isimlothe |
"We want the statue, but first we have to get out of here. It's dangerous, and they've called the guards. We don't want more trouble."
With haste in his mind, he simply calls out to his companions "Let's go!" as he approaches Buri Buri-Ban to escort the man out of the facility. He turns to the door they came in through and begins moving that way with their captive.
Double move: 60' (assuming Buri Buri-Ban keeps pace; Kolris will delay to Buri Buri-Ban's initiative if necessary to stay the man's escort)
Angry Magic Tree |
Fortitude vs DC 10: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
”Oh, we’re leaving too?” The leshy shrugs before grabbing her axe. ”Time to clear a path then!”
Greataxe, Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 9 - 1 = 17
Slashing damage, PA: 1d10 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 3 = 17
Raging. AC 13, HP 43/43
Bennett Florence |
Which exit are we leaving from? Presuming south where Kolris and Buri were moving toward. AMT, is north the direction you intended?
Bennett tries to clear the way for the group. He approaches the guards with purpose. This man is injured, we must get him to safety. Move aside!!
bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
GM Jhaeman |
With one casual swing of her greataxe, Angry Magic Tree cuts down one of the refinery guards! Bennett tries to talk his way out, but the guards neither understand him nor look in the mood for negotiation.
The Yellow guard is out. Most of the PCs are headed toward the southern door, while AMT has been guarding the north exit.
Gillie, Sadaf, and Avi are still to go.
GL13 "Gillie" |
Gillie is going to move to a good position and then leap off the catwalk to attack the guards, ideally from behind
with the catwalks not marked on the map it’s hard to know how close I get. What checks will I need and will I be able to make an attack?
GM Jhaeman |
If you can get there at normal speed, just assume you're traversing catwalks and I'll give you a +1 for attacking from higher ground. This is one of those occasional early scenarios where for some reason they didn't provide a map at all even though an encounter is definitely expected. That's why it's sort of vague (and I find drawing using online tools difficult).
Avi Solrem |
We really don't need to harm any more people Angry! Let's not cut down any more guards, worsening our collateral on this leg of the mission!
[standard] Cast grease under the two remaining guards. DC15 reflex to each or they fall.
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf is utterly confused and holds his ground... in a grappled state.
Sadaf Kargar |
Sadaf then follows Avi as he seems to know how to solve this.
