Brannart is somewhat uncomfortable in his armor. He hasn't worn it this much in years, and doesn't move as nimbly in it as he used to. He looks at the log and decides against it.

Instead, he wades the creek.

And back!

Vexas squints and frowns as he notices the little spy pop an array of "wings" and float away.

A "spy", you say. I wonder how often it "checks in" here at the village. Well, I guess we're running after it then.

The halfling follows his companions back out of the building and around back to chase it.

I really hope it lands soon...

Fenna easily walks down the make-shift bridge while keeping an eye on her quarry, and Kowal, with his Elven heritage, glides across the submerged stones with barely making a splash. Brannart wades in and the cold water feels good after running through the humid, sub-tropical forest. Before making it to the other side, he notices Vexas and Sho scamper passed him using the log. Moments later, Malakar transforms, dives in, and propels himself to the other side. Brannart finally reaches shore; water running down his legs. His companions are ahead but in sight and so is the quarry.

For the next few miles, the companions navigate over wilderness terrain, always keeping the little machine is sight. You manuever through forests and tickets and eventually up a hill. Nearing the top, the trees and scrub give way to an open field. You attempt to catch your breath while you look upon the field. With the sun nearing the horizon to the west, you stand in awe of remnants of ancient Azlanti Civilization.

The trees thin out around this field of shattered stones and fragments. Toppled marble columns jut haphazardly from the ground and are partially covered with moss. These rocks are the only evidence that buildings once stood here, but the passage of thousands of years has left little but their broken stone skeletons. One remnant remains incongruous with the ruins: a circular marble dais carved from a distinctly lustrous pinkish stone, perfectly preserved but surrounded by a crumbled stone rotunda that has not weathered the ages nearly as well.

One hundred feet away, the clockwork spy propellers down to rest in the center of the dais.

Fenna decides the bow just isn't going to work for her at the moment. She moves up to help Brannart and Vexas with her pike while encouraging her teammates to efficiently stab and chop those skanky little ambushers to death.

Move 25', Standard action to begin Inspire Courage. Everyone receives +1 Attack & Damage.

Blue attacks w/ spear 1d12 ⇒ 3 Spear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Fenna, seeing Vexas take a heavy hit, chooses her pike over her bow and moves up into melee. As she moves, she begins orating about legendary heroes and fierce battles. Her words energize your soul aiding your mind and body to become more focused in battle.

Vexas feels the power in Fenna's voice as he finds an opening and gets in a good hit before backing away and opening up space for Brannart to swing his blade.

Malakar must have water in his ears as he swings his blade too high and misses the Goblin.

Brannart feels an arrow pierce his armor and puncture his side. It is not a deep wound, but hit hurts. He notices another goblin drop his bow and use his tail to deliver a spear to its hands as it moves and attacks the crusader. Brannart fights through the pain as his muscle memory returns to block the thrusting weapon.

Another arrow flies over the head of Brannart and Vexas while Malakar parries a spear thrust from the injured Goblin.

Fenna's words fill you with energy and momentarily wipe away your fatigue.
Brannart feels an additional surge of power.

As long as Fenna continues to perform, there is no fatigue penalty. Since Brannart expended a Hero Point, he can take an additional +2 on attack and damage for a total of +3

As Malakar drops Brannart's previous foe, and Fenna's rousing speech inspires him, the veteran warrior turns his focus to the foolish goblin that had the temerity to attack him.

Attack Red, IC +1, Hero Point +2: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 21

After blocking the spear thrust, Brannart turns his blade and plunges it deep into the Goblin's gut. It's eyes bulge, then go blank. Brannart removes the blade and the body slumps to the ground.

Sense Motive DC 5:
You may not understand what the Goblins are saying, but their behavior tells you that the death of their comrades has incited a frenzied blood lust. You do not believe they are going to surrender.

Sho is up and I believe Kowal still has a delayed action.

mine is readied not delayed so I can't use it until they attack but my attack will go off before theirs, judging by the rest of the party still attacking I'm assuming they will back so I'll preroll the attack.

Attack Rolls:

Green shoots at 1d12 ⇒ 4 Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d4 ⇒ 2

Kowal realizes that whatever the Goblins are yelling about, it has nothing to do with surrender. He fires his bolt while Sho releases her arrow. Both projectiles miss their target while the long-tailed goblinoids fire a volley of their own. Brannart intercepts an arrow with his blade and knocks it down, but Vexas seems to be a favorite target and once again gets grazed by an arrow.

Brannart moves up to the goblin that Sho hit earlier. He is surprised at the creature's resilience after taking an arrow wound like that, but he lands a solid blow that should finish it off.

Attack, IC, Hero Point: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 24

Brannart moves up to the injured Goblin and slices him in half. Blood sprays the warrior as it's upper half topples over and the bottom portion falls to the ground.

The remaining Goblin yips and hollers some more and looks more frenzied than ever.
